    Looks great ... One thing I started doing to prevent blow out on the backside when drilling holes is to clamp a piece of 2x4 on the inside of the case. I then drill the hole and it is supported by that 2x4. I end up with a much cleaner hole that looks perfectly drilled on both the outside and inside!

    Cutting and soldering to the PowerCon is great! It’s just a matter of knowing what you’re doing. Nothing wrong with handmade....some cases it’s better than machines.

      I agree. lot of my cables is DIY and much cheaper than a store both or a pre-made, i know what i'm doing because i study electronics. just sharing my opinion.

    • @djjuego123
      @djjuego123 4 года назад +3

      JS A U D I O yea, same here! I make my own extensions and quad boxes and things like that. Cheaper and fun (for me). I’m not an electrician, however was taught as a young age by a relative who was. It’s like building a computer motherboard or something like people make it seem lol. Pretty basic principles is all it is.

    Hey Barr, you can use Velcro cable ties for cable organization, you can cut them to smaller lengths if you need them smaller for a custom fit. The velcro sticks to the carpet material. Also, I put Industrial Velcro on the bottom of my shure Wireless Mic receiver, so I have extra space to the right of my 1 rack space for accessories, etc.

    • @TruMusicLighting
      @TruMusicLighting 4 года назад

      I was gonna say that. He coulda just Velcro’d the receiver instead of making more holes to the case & using them brackets

  • @antoniofernandezjr2929
    @antoniofernandezjr2929 4 года назад +1

    Nice video. I did the same case build with a few variations. I did the holes for xlr's on the right side.I also made two more holes for more xlr outs. On those ones i used a right angle 1/4 inch connector and went into the booth port in back of the DDJ-1000. I use those ports to control the subs separately. You can also order covers for your xlr ports on the outside.

    That’s nice… I’m gonna do a similar mod to a few cases that I have… as far as the foam causing that cable to bend I would have just cut a slice in it to allow the cable to stick straight out…
    As far a cutting wires… you’re so good with these mods I’m 100% sure cutting and soldering wires should be easy for you… just put some silicone over it and then wrap it with electrical tape when it drys…
    Thanks for the vid man 😐👌🏾

    Awesome build. Did about the same back to my case and DDJ-1000 this past summer before starting my residency at Cedar Point! I highly recommend the Powercon and using it. I think nlfx will make you a custom cable if you aren’t confident in soldering. I personally love it because it is like a “lock and key” for my mixing board. No one can turn it on unless they have the “key” of the Powercon cable. Just a thought. Love all the videos man! Hang in there, the after party to this virus is going to be LIT!

    @Bayardo Rugama if you don't feel confident in assembling the cables / connectors contact NLFX they can make customized cables for your needs ! it's just a small tip because there are a lot of people like Rick web who buys some cables prepared by them www.nlfxpro.com/xlrf-xlrm-pm/ just an little example and they have a lot more options even for power ! if I'm not mistaken i believe Elite Core also assembles customized cables according to your needs !

    I know this vid is old af, but here's my two cents anyway
    All cables are touched by a human hand at one point. XLR cables especially are no exception to this rule. Idk what frikin engineers hosa has to build machines which can cut wires and then solder them to plastic connectors...yeah I don't buy that. What they, along with every other company are doing, is manual labor. That's just the nature of soldering wires. IMO every DJ should learn to solder! First there's the money aspect - it's so much cheaper to buy the parts you need and then make the cables yourself. Secondly and imo even more important - assurance! I've soldered all my cables myself. I 100% trust all of them. Even in the event that somehow a cable stops working all of a sudden - open it up, see what's wrong, get home, take 5 mins to resolder and it's off to the races again. It's not rocket science.

    You are throwing money away by not making cables, home made cables made by skilled people will always be better than factory ones as factories cut corners to keep costs down no matter how expensive the cables are, I work at a production company and we build everything because that is what professionals do and they never fail us
