DJ Rick Web The price for one of these are pretty high, what do you think?
Depends on what you value and what you normally use. For me totally worth it
Rick, thanks for the video! What kind of Rock N Roller is that? Is it the R16?
Not sure but its like 8 ft long.
I like where this concept is going but I think that there is a way to go still for the single DJ owner operators. If you can hire peeps to help setup and breakdown (especially when you are going up/down stairs) this is going to look the best and last for years. If you are open to a few design suggestions, consider: 1. Turn the equipment rack section into a handtruck that carries the controller top and the base plate. 2. Add strong magnets that hold the cover on the top steady when turned sideways. 3. Add a powercon power strip to the top section to enable easier (and safer) power linking from bottom to top. 4. recess a portion of the rack rails near the top and the bottom so that the connectors do not protrude where they can be seen from the side. 5. Add a slot to the laptop pipe so that the power and USB connections can be hidden inside with the help of a plastic cover. -Sorry for the long RUclips comment and best of luck to you in your adventures.
Bunn Gear is always high glass and top quality. The clean look does not distract the guests away from the work that the dj is putting in. Plus it is fast, easy, and light to set up
I ordered one as well. As I read through the comments, I realize it may not be a good fit for everyone. My vision is this has a super clean look that will standout in almost every situation. When you are looking at all the facets of your business, this will certainly add the WOW factor to your image. Putting in your custom touches and making this a fully integrated booth will ultimately speed up your set-up and breakdown time. The other feature that I like is putting you, as the DJ, out in the open to bring you closer to your guests. It's all about breaking down those barriers. This is one of the first set-ups that doesn't look like a fence or obstruction. Whatever you decide to do, know that Joe Bunn, as evidenced by the DJ Vault, is working to make the industry better as a whole and gives you yet another way to standout in your market. Also about the price, do the math - if you are a Wedding DJ and have 20 weddings planned, the investment in image of $100 per event with 100% payback in the first year becomes priceless! I guarantee that clients and guests will remember how cool this was when you rocked their event! Then there will be the photos.
I don't think I'm quite ready for that yet, but I'd like to get one in the future. I like how it will allow guests/clients to see you workin it, instead of a big facade wall blocking them. The portability looks awesome!
Super clean! Love the design and flexibility to add shelves and the option for adding antennas to the outside!
This is a step in the right direction. Next version, I would make bags with wheels and a pull out handle so you have the option to just wheel it in without a rockNroller. Like to also see the screws in the base be something you can't loose easily, maybe more of a latch or permanently attached screw mechanism. Great job though Joe Bunn. I really like it.
Already in the works with the screw replacement. Might see it in production.
Super clean
As a new up and coming DJ, "DJ LADY MYSTIQUE", I have been watching all your videos and this DJ Booth is Fire it will be my first booth, just got my Pioneer DDJ SB3, EV speakers and stands for starters. You Are fire you and Joe from Bunn Gear.
Few ideas for you,
Move the power outlet to the top of the base for the controller to save fishing the cables down the whole way
Another one is moving all the gear down a few U so you can see the mixer easier
The Black looks sharp and I would definitely would use it.
Add some led light and built in table light will be awesome
I ordered my already! Can't wait to get it!
Nice looking stands,...wayyyyyy too much effort in the Setup and Teardown! Great idea on all of the pre-wiring!
I am contemplating a white model...only problem is when you start to add lighting-that clean look begins to fade
Awesome! I would go with the black one! Thanks for sharing!
I do like how it looks, I dont really like how it functions so much. Seems like too much to do to move in and out a gig.
I personally like a table facade hibrid where you have a big front area, the table top that folds up and down and the sides that fold too. That gives you a lot to play with lots of room to put the cade, laptop, mics, second laptop, light contol center, drinks, food... and you can have any ammount of things underneath (props, racks, fog juice, bags, cables, cases...)
Maybe it is just the way I learned, but it makes sense in my head
I’m seriously considering this for my DDJ-1000SRT. I wish they would add an access door in the front to easily access the back of the racked equipment to add or take out cables, especially if something happens and you need to change out quickly.
It would be nice. But it would add to the weight as they would have to add reinforcement in all the corners. This design provides rigidity using one piece of medal as the front.
Orkestrated Beatz maybe small panel pop outs away from the corners like rick mentioned but enough to get eyes and a hand in there. Held in with magnets or those thumb screws might be better. Once tightened its all rigid. Maybe water jet the panels with logos or keep them blank. Options are endless.
just use a can opener👍
I like the black. I’m going to order one and weld wheels to the base and use it like a dolly for the bottom rack portion. Thanks for the video!!
Interesting.
DJ Rick Web I’ll post a video once I get it in and mock it up.
Vinyl wrap it (any color) and add ya logo....💡😍
They make vinyl wrap that looks like different wood textures....but damn 2k$ for this🤔😡🤔😡🙄🤐💳
That thing is sweet. Especially with all you customization on it @DJRickWebb. Well done Joe!
Great setup only issue I see with it if something goes wrong it's hard to troubleshoot to many cables.
But I like the idea of the all in one system.👍👌
Narvesh Prasad id imagine you could just quickly remove the pvc top to access the cables
Looks solid! Definitely a clean setup and smooth lines!
I always have a deck saver. After setup and sound check it goes on.
Great Video! Been looking at this myself...
With that rack setup, I would seriously consider replacing the analog mixer with the Behringer XR18 mixer. It comes loaded with EQ's Yes one for each input and output, a compressor for each input, a noise gate for each input, combo XLR/TRS inputs, etc so it will take all your mics, and line level inputs. Even has a pair of RCA Aux in and outs. The mixer has no knobs except a headphone volume. It is completely run from the laptop, so setup is from your laptop. EQ of speakers for the room, adjusting your monitor, etc is on top on the laptop. If you get asked for a corporate gig or wedding with a band, boom, 16 mic inputs to mix the band is built in. How dope is that. Just bought mine last month. They are new with warranty for less than a grand. Seriously look into one. Can adjust the mixer from your laptop, or a tablet. Hooking up a band, no running back to the booth. Mix them on the spot with a tablet. Forgot to mention, 6 mix bus outs for the band's monitors if needed. My analog mixers are all on Craigslist now.
But does it fit in a slim rack?
@@DJRickWeb Yes.. Check the dimensions. 2 Rack space. The two rack space height is bigger than the depth in the rack. I have mine in a short SKB rack mounted backside out so all cables go in the back for a clean blank front with the logo. No cables on the rack front. The rack ears can mount on the front or back. Without an open back you would mount it the other way.
Rick!!!!! Excellent video and product. I am going to order one and since I like how simple you made the setup, I’ll more than likely use the same products. Keep the videos coming!!!
Best video ever
yeah, I love it
Great Video, excellent info on the packing and accessories. Looking Good!!
I can see some cool tops cut with a water jet with awesome inserts and lighted logos! More rigid top from aluminum with say a small slot machined all the way around an inch in from the edge. Enough material left to keep it one piece but up light the slot from below with leds on a controller. Change colors, static or moving. Cool!! 😊
I think I would add some sound deadening material to the inside of the top and base.
In the future plans. The venue needs to start the revenue stream.
I was going to ask about the PA2 and you answered it. I do hope you do it. I also like the panels with the Core and your wireless Mic solutions.
The weights you gave in the beginning g are obviously.very different once you load the rack
Yep
The portability is incredible on this
Great Job Rick and Joe!! Can't wait till my Black Model Arrives!!
Pretty cool Rick
Very nice! 👏🏾👏🏾
I’m really diggin it. Reminds me of my earlier set-up in the 90’s using turntable coffin over a rack case. Still not sure if I want to make that change.
Better suited for a stationary setup then mobile in my opinion. Would look dope inside my office.
Looks great!!
DJ Bunn rockin’ the Off-Whites. Salute.
#fortheculture
That whole setup sexy asl! $2k tho! 😩😩
The white would look clean with up-lighting.
This is bad ass. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool. Looks great
nice now all you need is a tv attachment on the front
Dude, it's a booth, not boof......lol
Just kidding with ya,
I like the boof.....lol
Look great, yes looks clean and sleek but Still looks like a lot of work to set up especially if you're a mobile DJ, maybe at a location you are not going to move it much. There's nothing Just pulling up to a gig unfolding your odyssey Fzf5437t table or similar in a few mins, slap on your DJ console with your odyssey case or similar take the top case cover off or option 2 roll up with a flight case with wheels that holds some of your equipment and use it as a table slap on your DJ console with your odyssey/flight case on top. DJ Fasade optional. WOW! I just saw the price 2K socked for the price especially not so mobile and Time is Money. This is my opinion as a mobile. Look at this as positive feedback as this is my opinion and I own a van this probably would work out for somebody who has a car/smaller vehicle. On the website video, you have to connect all the cables that time should be included for setting up time because I can say I unfold my odyssey table 30 sec. slap my dj console road case ontop pull the case top off 30 sec. and it looks like if you leave your dj consol in this bunn Gear you might have some issues.
I will be making a full video showing my setup time. And I already have my deck saver coming as I decided to ditch the flight case
Nice job for the unveiling it was great to setup items and leave them in the rack for future speed in getting everything up and running
Awesome!! Love the new rig
Great video rick.
Great video. As a man with many different pieces of gear could I purchase a turntable version and a top for a ddj 1000, etc? Also, it would be interesting to see how stable a turntable setup would be in one.
Absolutely. You could just buy a seprate pvc cut out. The rails will adjust to the different setups. I dont think it will have any trouble holding turntables. I put my body weight on the rails off camera
DJ Rick Web 👍🏾
@Cleveland Terry, just need your added review!!!!
@DJ Rick Web nice review man!!! Been following you for a minute, and love the professionalism and help for the everyday-weekend DJ!!
This is awesome DJ RICK.... I’m a fan and don’t usually comment
I like this item and here comes the but
traditionally show where to save money and how to cut cost
I would rather build the one you made removable legs and a roller case.
As noted if you have the skills to do so that is a great option
🍓 awesome
yes, thanks for thinking about the DJ. maybe one with a slot for a xp1 in the future, not sure how that will look
You can put any controller in this
Beautiful 😎💪🏻
Very neat
Dope guys very impressed
This is great! It’s super clean and cuts back on set up time I love it!
Kevin Banda I’m not sure your set up time will improve the way you think.
How not? I timed it under 2 minutes setup and teardown. Quickest I setup my event table was 10 minutes
DJ Rick Web I get that, but with a standard facade and my controller prewired in the case it’s about the same time for me. It’s a clean set up though. It will be interesting to see how it holds up over time.
Nice video! Just wondering why you use this Yamaha mixer while you have all the ins and outs on the SZ...?
Mic inputs suck on the sz
Nice design. If the front cover came off of the rack system that would make for better cable management.
It would but it would up the weight and cost to that that.
Check out the Strong Rack System they are for audio components for home theater system. They have one that the cover is removable. that’s where the cable management idea came from.
Hi rick - so can you install a sliding rack tray in the Bunn command Center like you did in your rack case in another video? It would be for the Yamaha mixer .
That would be awesome
No because the rack drawer needs to be supported on all 4 corners. In my rack its mounted to the back rails and front rails.
I’m so on the fence cause they might come up with some new and improved things then I’ll be sorry I did not wait a little longer . It’s pricey but worth it I believe and I would also want a 2nd laptop stand but not for 150.00 . Like leaving controller in the center but don’t like the strap idea . It’s really a high class piece
Thank You for all your videos
Peace
They are not making the second version any time soon. That will be 1 to 2 years out in r and d.
I would love that bunn gear command center , how much for everything even see through cover
I dont think there for sale anymore
I like it but I think it adds more work for know reason I’ll stick with my coffin case
I like ' NICE Bro. Thanks for the video
Looks cool but the Antennas are looking funny, can't you turn them to the Sides?
You could use smaller 1/4 wave antennas but in reality this is going to guarantee the best possible signal for your mics unless you run antenna cables to some big bulky fin antennas.
How about mounting antennas on the rack section? They wont be as noticable & saves the trouble of connecting & disconnecting from top section.
@@mrbowtie64 you could but it still would limiting. The things that affect mic signal are 1 how high the antennas are since human bodies block signal. And 2 metal. So the lower you put them the worse your signal and if you put them in the rack it would hurt the signal. You also want your antennas as far apart from one another as you can make them. So the placement of the antennas is optimal.
imho, the best spot for the antenas is in the back corners of the top part - where they don't stand out as much visually for the audience, but don't really bother the DJ either, and you still get the same good height for them.
Ordered Mine In White When It First Launched.
Really considering getting this booth!
Great vid! I love the desk, and Joe. I think the price is steep. I love it but, will have to live without it.
This is what I need I am a Beginnger DJ and wish I can get this now I have a DDJ SX3 Controller
Wondering if I can use my NS7III on this!! Love what I just saw. Simple, clean, and functional. I don’t need bells and whistles. Ese fuego hermano👊🏽
Absolutely
Still seems.like a.lot.of.plugging and unplugging to do. Also.wonder how stable the stand is. The base plate seems small for the size of the top. Looks top heavy. What happens if a drunk leans into it or falls into it?
Its pretty solid.
Yes I agree with ultimate event lighting wish the top cover was maybe metal and screwed on permanently.
Maybe metal won’t flex like I saw in video .i do love it and am extremely interested
If it screwed on you couldn't turn on the power strip. But I see your point
@@DJRickWeb Personally I would keep the strip on and hook it into the Furman
Hot damn that booth is ridic awesome! #TheDJsVault4Life
Looks sharp man. JB our the time in on it. Transports quite easy too. As soon as they make one in orange, I might jump on it.
That's great idea... Have you considered making a multi pair cable to connect the controller and the bottom rack so that all you have to do is disconnect the one cable as opposed to completely disconnecting all the cables from the mixer?
Yes I have.
All this to play wedding gigs
They should do a command center for sound/lighting guys 1 digital mixer and a small studio rack.
very nice
Vertical bag for the "rack" and make it like a backpack!
That is sick
Big fan
Looks like a church podium
Beautiful! I love the design. Very sleek, very sexy! Everything fits in beautifully. A lot of work to get set up originally, but worth it in the end once it’s all together! Very nice gear!
Gotta get me a Bunn booth!
I still think my Dragon facade looks cleaner
Hahaha 🤣😄 how awesome
awesome video Rick! do you have a recommendation for a rackable unit instead of using the Yamaha 6 channel mixer?
Couldn't find one.
Some really great feedback from these guys
I Like it! I'd rather have a tray w/foam for the mic. I can see the mic getting scraped up and if it's on and the sound up, you will hear that scrape each time to remove it or place it in there. Also, maybe plastic sleeves for the laptop pole, again less scraping.
Lovely case - Given the distance, I would have opted for the stubbys to be on the front of the unit and not sticking out the side - They're likely going to get knocked and BNC isn't a strong connector in the first place.
Other than that very nice (albiet a tad expensive) solution
one question. The booth is fantastic, but why do you use an extra mixer on the first shelf? Because, you can wire your speakers directly in the mixer, no? Thanks for reply.... and great videos ;-)
Because the mic inputs are not good on the sz
Friends 4WD Farm... LOL
How easy is it to lose one of those screws that hold the rack to the base? Maybe version 2 can have a locking system instead...Also not sure about the look of the antennas sticking out...This booth looks great though
It's not bad but they are looking into quick connectors for the production model. This is the first black one. I mentioned that to them that quick connectors would be amazing. Might come to production not sure. The antennas I am going over kill with 1/2 wave big ones you can use smaller 1/4 waves if you want.
I love sz2 is good
Nice job, that black one is beautiful. A few thoughts - what I like most about this is no more cheesy facade. That said, I have two concerns for you on that front (no pun intended...) - first, the location of the laptop stand. Sure, if you only take your own comfort into consideration, then that is the right spot to put it in, but with no more facade (hopefully), you're going to have people in crowded places/venues bump into you from time to time, and you don't want the first thing they bump into to be your laptop. So imo, laptop stand should move to about half way between where it is now and where you stand and dj. My second thought is also related to the same point (no facade) - how stable is the whole thing ? If a guest can now come over and basically lean on the corner of your table when he addresses you, is it stable enough to take it ? It might be, I just didn't see it addressed. My additional and very personal question would be if they would make this in different heights (basically height of the base...), as I'm a tall DJ and I'm sure the taller and shorter DJ's would love to be able to buy something above or below the standard. Thanks and best of luck with it. looks great.
You can practically put all your weight on the edge of this. It ain't going anywhere. You literally need to tackle it to make it tip over.
There are a few design changes I would made for easier disassembly and transport. However I won’t share unless they need a paid consultant lol
Probably the same minor design changes I told them to make. Although one of the ones I suggested was going to add 300 to the material cost. Lol
Great review, very detailed. Now to decide black or white ?
Black.
Okay, I've been dreaming of building something like this from wood and metal for the longest time and I'm pleased that someone else thought of it and made it happen. I love the rack space underneath and the fact that it's lightweight. HOWEVER, there's a catch: I'm not a DJ. I'm a keyboard player. I don't need the rails inside the unit or the laptop holder (other keyboardists might). I need larger versions of the mike clips to accommodate my Alesis Air Fx and Air Synth. Another thing I don't need is that bar that runs across the front. It blocks my fingers from playing keys. Can it be removed?
Nice looking product however, I would consider having road cases rather than bags. For DJs that over stuff their trucks or trailers, this would be trash within a few weeks.
Its ment for DJs that use a car. Which is why it's so portable
DJ Rick Web is still be concerned at the end of the night with damaging it in a car. With an investment of $2 a 3k, I’d want that to be pristine at my events. You could go with a light weight plastic reinforcement so at least it has a bit more protection. Here’s some gear bags that use this concept: gear.digitaljuice.com/products/products.asp?pid=1559
Can they have the top with machine screws to secure PVC stays put when leaving controller in permanently?
Like the black and white. Buy one get one free? lol
I haven't seen a full setup with speakers and everything at an event. I'm curious to see what that looks like with it.
Go check @bunngear on instagram
