This song is that song you play on the parting of a friendship. The song you play that symbolizes peace. The song that speaks and says that everything is ok. This song is the embodiment of gaming history. We love games. And this song shows why.
This made me feel so emotional, cause the game was over, it showed Mario doing what he did during the game, and at the end when everyone waved good bye.
***** Heaven's gotta be...a cross between a Dikekike video and.....chicken and winginsh! See I can have a leg in one hand and a bur-BRING HIM BACK!!!!!
It's been fifteen years, and this game still makes me unbelievably happy and nostalgic as hell. Not to mention, I will never get tired of playing this one from start to finish over and over again. RIP, our dear friend Iwata-san. Thank you for everything.
Thank-a-[sniff]-so-much [sniff]... For-a playing my game... [sniff] - My exact words after finally beating Super Mario 64 all the way through after almost ten years.
so I'm NOT the only one who hears that extra syllable before he says "playing my game!" I always thought he was saying "Thanks-a so much for tuh playing-a my game!" or something!
Super Mario 64 is hands down pure gold. The stokeness I had for this game when it came out back in the day is hard to explain. The love I have for this game is real. This is indeed a Nintendo masterpiece.
I was a small kid when I played the DS version of this game, it took me so long to figure out I needed 80 stars to go to the Final Bowser Battle, Koopa in the Sky. It also took me so long to beat that boss. I was already happy when I beat the boss, but when I heard the credits I got teary-eyed. At 2:42 my emotions shattered.
I was a little kid when I played on 64 ^^ That's why I think remake are wonderfull because we can have similar experiences with younger generations ^^ and that credits song is so beautiful! my favorite video game music I think
Mansuy Quentin I agree that it's great they have the remakes but I'm disappointing it's only for the DS, i would definitely buy the games if it were on WII U :)
Damn man, I came to hear one of my fave song from a beloved game of my childhood, and both nostalgia and the reminder that Mr. Iwata died put tears in my eyes like a little kid... I didn't know Iwata in person, I didn't really even know much about him from the media, but he made my childhood so much fun and magical; RIP Mr. Iwata.
We gather here just for one thing. To listen this masterpiece to show some respect to Iwata. We say that legends never die and this is the perfect example. Rest in piece.
"On my business card, I am a corporate president. In my mind, I am a game developer. But in my heart, I am a gamer." - Satoru Iwata We will miss you, Iwata-san
I'm sad, but I'm smiling. I feel mass nostalgia when I listen to Sonic Mega Collection music, but nothing compares to this one single song. Thank-a you so much for playing my game.
This song will always represent my childhood and my love for video games in general. The first game I have ever played and still the one that means the most to me.
Ah, the memories of staying up until the early hours trying to get every last star. When I finally finished this game, I knew I had finished a masterpiece.
This was the first game I played in my life! My dad used to play with me, teaching me... Beating it was my first "personal achievment", I felt so happy with myself listening tô this and watching the credits... good memories :,)
Busted out my old system that is still at my parents' house when I visited last month. I remember getting an N64 and this game when I was a kid and playing endlessly. This song was epic then, and it will be epic always.
I may have not played the origian Nintendo 64 version but the ds remix was one of my first Mario games and so it still counts as my childhood. Thank you Nintendo. From the world. :')
3 dislikes: Luigi because he's not in SM64, Bowser because he was defeated, and JB because he wishes his music was as good as this, and didn't sound like someone shoving a knife down a horses throte
I didn't grow up with this game, but iwata's games give me a sense of nostalgia. when i heard the news from my friend, i thought he was lying. when i found out he did die, i was in absolute disbelief and cried my eyes out. may you rest in peace iwata. 1959-2015
This was My first video game ever. Ocarina of Time was the first game I ever beat, and it was epic. And then this was the second... I gotta say beating it was probably the best feeling I have ever felt. The music is so heartwarming and brings back major nostalgia, people need to understand there is more to videogames than the gameplay.
I want to state my comment on this entire game I have always loved this game ever since i was 5 and this game was awesome! I would recomend this game to others.
"Thank you so much for playing my game." Why don't more games do this? Always shed a tear, or thumb-up my tv/monitor whenever I read stuff like this, or "Special thanks: you, the player!".
"Thank you so much, for the Mr. Iwata and the memories!"
- Mario

To me this theme screams out "confidently walking away from a freshly finished project."
There is no more nostalgia in one song. Just wonderful.
The only time you can cry... is when it's all over.

Along with Mario Party 1 Credits, this one is most beautiful and greatest credits of them all in the history of Nintendo
This is the best video game song I have ever heard.
It's a perfect way to end a game that is just amazing.
I'm having more than Nostalgia right now. I'm actually crying. ;') Those wonderful days!
Thank you for everything, Mr. Iwata.
I may have not played the origian Nintendo 64 version but the ds remix was one of my first Mario games and so it still counts as my childhood.

This is so nostalgic.. I wish I could rewatch myself playing that game for the first time.
3 dislikes: Luigi because he's not in SM64, Bowser because he was defeated, and JB because he wishes his music was as good as this, and didn't sound like someone shoving a knife down a horses throte
Luigi took his dislike back when Super Mario 64 DS came out ;)
Renan Greca YAY!
Ben Tetley No it's back, but I think it's Waluigi's...
OOOOOOOOOO
im so glad my 64 works
Man 7 years of playing this game looking back at the credits made me cry.
This and the Banjo-Tooie Credits music brings back so many memories on the '64... Man, I miss those days.
Makes me nearly cry :(
I didn't grow up with this game, but iwata's games give me a sense of nostalgia. when i heard the news from my friend, i thought he was lying. when i found out he did die, i was in absolute disbelief and cried my eyes out. may you rest in peace iwata. 1959-2015

But first let's talk about "Parallel Universes".
Don't forget TJ "Henry" Yoshi
Didn't he move his home to the death barrier?
Thank you so much for playing my game
Well said - my fondest memories came from Goldeneye 007, Banjo Kazooie and Super Mario 64 with my cousin. Good Times :'D Thank you 90's gaming :)
This song brings out our feelings for games and is easily one of the best video game songs ever
Just replayed Mario 64 yesterday and beat it today, I feel good
This was the first game I ever played. I have so many amazing memories of playing this with my cousin.
I'm about a month away from being 19 years old, and I *still* play Super Mario 64 to this day. It's the greatest game in the world :')
Literally every time I think about something big in my life (Finishing school for example) this song plays in my head
This song will never get old.
