Os caras estão tocando muito, o Eloy é um animal na bateria. Pra mim são 2 bandas diferentes, a fase Max e a fase atual...Ambas são muito fodas. Eu me identifico mais com a fase do Max, porém o SEPULTURA com o lançamento do QUADRA entrou definitivamente para o "main stream" do metal. Uma verdadeira obra prima...parabéns a todos os envolvidos na produção dessa jóia.

Not afraid to say that 2017's Machine Messiah is my favourite Sepultura album. And yes, I've been a fan since the 90s era. No shame in liking what you like.
To be honest, Sepultura has had a longer string of good albums since the mid-2000's than they had in their original heyday. Again, speaking as someone who became a fan when "Beneath The Remains" was new.

When they changed lead singers, I gotta say this is an example of a change that works. He sounds great and the voice blends so well with the music, I love it.

And finally - this solo kills. Andreas can deliver amazing solos, when he wants and he innovates too. I will listen to the entire album now...

It's being more than 20 years since Max left the band and still there's always some people talking shit about "reunion". Sepultura is kicking as always!

A fan since Beneath the Remains ... a fan until death. Yes, it was sad to see the Cavalera bros leaving over time, but Derrick and Eloy took their recruitments as serious as hell. Most other bands would go through many more personnel line-up changes compared to Sepultura over almost 35 years. I also had to adapt to Max, followed by Igor, leaving, but I am very glad I did. Plus, now, we have besides Sepultura, Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, Hubris, Nailbomb, ... Looking forward to seeing them in Houston, April 2020!!! Meet me in the moshpit!
I don't get all those comments that trashtalk Max with Soulfly....without Max there was no Sepultura in the first place. I don't get it that people can't understand that like in relationships you sometimes have to leave old settings in order to grow, stay happy and start new things (aka Soulfly). I love both Sepultura and Soulfly and there is no worse or better here....between the two bands since each has their own style. I would love to see Sepultura and Soulfly play together live once to be honest....if that will ever happen.

I haven't ever been a fan of Sepultura. However, what I can say (because I hear it) is that they are one of very few long-term metal bands that have stepped up their musicianship significantly over the years. Parabens. =) Have a blessed day.
Haven't listened to any newer albums from sepultura since roots. No reason, just didn't keep up. Glad this popped up in my feed. gonna have to Wikipedia to catch up on what has happened or changed over the past 20 years, and check out later discography!
Sepultura is kick fuking ass as always, but will never be at the same level as Slayer. Slayer made the cup that holds that blood. Both bands are great though.

I grew up listening to both and I like both,sucks slayer decided to call it quits on touring though,hopefully sepultura will hit some of danny wimmer festivals this summer,(louder than life ,for me). Acho engraçado e curioso essa galera falando que "o Sepultura voltou" ou então "voltou a tocar Thrash"; porra, só no MM teve umas 3 músicas nessa pegada ("I am the Enemy", "Silent Violence" e "Vandals Nest", além da "Chosen Skin" que veio de bônus numas edições), fora discos como o "Mediator" e o "Kairos". O lance é que essa "Isolation" tá não só no nível mais fino das melhores pedradas recentes da banda, mas talvez num nível até acima. E isso porque é a primeira desse álbum, imagino o restante! No mais, tem o choro eterno das viuvinhas. O Max pode fazer discos do caralho como o "Psychosis" ou o "Ritual" que essas pragas continuam choramingando nessa ladainha de décadas, é patético e risível ao mesmo tempo.
O mediator é um álbum mega pesado que na minha opinião só peca nos efeitos que colocaram na voz do Derrick que não tinha necessidade mas de resto é brutal

'The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart' as a whole is one of the best metal albums of the last decade. It starts out like a typical thrash album, but it goes in a lot of different directions after that. Individually the songs are great, but played in the arranged order they're better, Grief especially sounds heavier and more emotional between 2 faster songs. I was disappointed with Alex but I liked the concept of that album.

That growl he's got is powerful but clear, you can hear what he's saying, which is the kind of distortion I like on a voice. Rough, but not just sound... if that makes sense. Right on. :) Heard of the name before, but never heard their stuff. Good music. Great performance. I like it. :)

Sepultura being Sepultura, Since of Against album they were looking for a way to come back to be a Sepultura, but Igor looks that Is waiting for Max returns and it has damaged band, when Igor had leaved band, the band was free to trace a new road to find his own new Id, now they had found.
OK, after hearing this and "Means To An End," I have got to give this album a chance after years of writing them off after the Cavalera brothers left. This sounds like something off of "Arise," and I mean that in the best manner possible. This has power and energy to spare, as well as savage intensity, and Derrick has come into his own, for sure. Well done, lads!

Why does music have to be reduced to this? Yes Eloy is great, yes Andreas has some decent riffage here.......it means jack shit. The era they known for had great fucking SONGS! Derek just doesn't have the personality that Max brought to the music. Yes Sepultura today is their own thing, but it doesn't hold a flame to their past.
Admittedly I've always been more of a fan of Max era Seps (though I really like the Dante XXI) but WOW this band sound fired up! They're taking no prisoners on any of these three new tracks so far! Boom!
Sepultura started as a Blackened Death metal band in their ep and 1st album, turned into Deathrash in their second album and up to Choas ad, where they experimented with Groove metal and Industrial metal and after Max left band turned into Groove/Thrash and Melodeath band ever since

In my opinion Sepultura is THE best heavy metal band in the world right now and Eloy Casagrande is THE #1 drummer. His playing is extremely technical, physical, powerful, explosive and dynamic. Andreas Kisser is an exceptional guitarist and his work on Quadra is probably his best work so far. Paulo Jr. is an old school bassist who just seem to get better and better. Derrick Green is in his top vocal form here and has proved persistence is key to success. The Brazilian band have made their name in creativity and Quadra is no exception, this time with symphonics, a better production and a bigger sound than ever. These four guys deserve all the respect for keeping and improving the Cavalera legacy. RESPECT!

This was unexpected. This is the first album I heard with Derrick vocals because I was tight only listen to Calavera's era. But this is SO GOOD!
Check out Dante XXI and machine messiah. Try it with an open mind. Some amazing stuff in there.

as viúvas do Cavalera podiam simplesmente irem ouvir soulfly em vez de encher o saco vindo nas musicas novas só pra falar bosta saudosista, cacete o derick dá uma surra no vocal do cavalera hoje em dia, o quadra ficou um espetáculo de bom, sepultura representa e sempre vai representar nossa terra lá fora.

And finally - this solo kills. Andreas can deliver amazing solos, when he wants and he innovates too. I will listen to the entire album now...

With Derrick and Eloy, Sepultura have entered into a new phase. There is no longer the need nor a desire for a comparison with the past. AGORA, COM ESSES CARAS, SÓ TEM O PRESENTE E O FUTURO.
A fan since Beneath the Remains ... a fan until death. Yes, it was sad to see the Cavalera bros leaving over time, but Derrick and Eloy took their recruitments as serious as hell. Most other bands would go through many more personnel line-up changes compared to Sepultura over almost 35 years. I also had to adapt to Max, followed by Igor, leaving, but I am very glad I did. Plus, now, we have besides Sepultura, Soulfly, Cavalera Conspiracy, Hubris, Nailbomb, ... Looking forward to seeing them in Houston, April 2020!!! Meet me in the moshpit!

I don't get all those comments that trashtalk Max with Soulfly....without Max there was no Sepultura in the first place. I don't get it that people can't understand that like in relationships you sometimes have to leave old settings in order to grow, stay happy and start new things (aka Soulfly). I love both Sepultura and Soulfly and there is no worse or better here....between the two bands since each has their own style. I would love to see Sepultura and Soulfly play together live once to be honest....if that will ever happen.

I haven't ever been a fan of Sepultura. However, what I can say (because I hear it) is that they are one of very few long-term metal bands that have stepped up their musicianship significantly over the years. Parabens. =) Have a blessed day.

Nada a ver, o Derrick e principalmente o Paulo ainda mandam MUITO BEM!
Acho engraçado e curioso essa galera falando que "o Sepultura voltou" ou então "voltou a tocar Thrash"; porra, só no MM teve umas 3 músicas nessa pegada ("I am the Enemy", "Silent Violence" e "Vandals Nest", além da "Chosen Skin" que veio de bônus numas edições), fora discos como o "Mediator" e o "Kairos". O lance é que essa "Isolation" tá não só no nível mais fino das melhores pedradas recentes da banda, mas talvez num nível até acima. E isso porque é a primeira desse álbum, imagino o restante!
No mais, tem o choro eterno das viuvinhas. O Max pode fazer discos do caralho como o "Psychosis" ou o "Ritual" que essas pragas continuam choramingando nessa ladainha de décadas, é patético e risível ao mesmo tempo.

Every post-Cabelera Sepultura album is distinctly different and innovative, always something new and cool to look forward to.
That's what makes it a bit of a hit-or-miss for me, but I'm okay with that; if I dig it, I dig it, if I don't, I'm sure someone else will like it. :)
'The Mediator Between The Head And Hands Must Be The Heart' as a whole is one of the best metal albums of the last decade. It starts out like a typical thrash album, but it goes in a lot of different directions after that. Individually the songs are great, but played in the arranged order they're better, Grief especially sounds heavier and more emotional between 2 faster songs. I was disappointed with Alex but I liked the concept of that album.
Agreed, "Mediator" was excellent, but then Machine Messiah didn't do much for me. Then, from what I heard of Quadra, it sounds fun so far.
Very innovative, Fear Factory was doing the same more than a decade ago.

OK, after hearing this and "Means To An End," I have got to give this album a chance after years of writing them off after the Cavalera brothers left. This sounds like something off of "Arise," and I mean that in the best manner possible. This has power and energy to spare, as well as savage intensity, and Derrick has come into his own, for sure. Why does music have to be reduced to this? Yes Eloy is great, yes Andreas has some decent riffage here.......it means jack shit. The era they known for had great fucking SONGS! Derek just doesn't have the personality that Max brought to the music. Yes Sepultura today is their own thing, but it doesn't hold a flame to their past.

In my opinion Sepultura is THE best heavy metal band in the world right now and Eloy Casagrande is THE #1 drummer. His playing is extremely technical, physical, powerful, explosive and dynamic. Andreas Kisser is an exceptional guitarist and his work on Quadra is probably his best work so far. Paulo Jr. is an old school bassist who just seem to get better and better. Derrick Green is in his top vocal form here and has proved persistence is key to success. The Brazilian band have made their name in creativity and Quadra is no exception, this time with symphonics, a better production and a bigger sound than ever. These four guys deserve all the respect for keeping and improving the Cavalera legacy. RESPECT!
