thank you for saving me a plumbers bill! after watching two other videos with no success, you were the only one who even mentioned the seat and the spring. that was my entire problem. keep up the great work and thanks again!
Thanks for posting this. My 10 year old sinks were leaking from the cold water side and I managed to get down to white plastic insert, but for the life of me I couldn't pull them out. Your video confirmed for me that I just needed to tug a little harder. Got em out, replaced them, no more drip...drip...drip...drip. Thanks!
Thank you! Since my sink was newer, i was able to use the same parts without a problem. If they do fail, I now know how to replace it on my own with ease.
Thank you. The spring was the problem. I could see it was worn. I wasn't able to find the right replacement, but it bought me some time. And I know what I am looking for. Thank you greatly!
Thank you very much for tutorial. We save money that is suppose to pay for the plumber but we fix our kitchen faucet while watching your video. Now no more leaking.
Excellent video. After watching this it gave me the confidence to complete the job. Really appreciate you taking the time to clearly demonstrate how to make this change.
Thanks for showing us step by step how to do this , I think I'm ready to do this now , stay safe , from the guy Bette Midler rubbed her feet so close too....
Good video. I fixed my faucet after watching. The nut was somewhat hard to loosen so I sprayed WD40 and was easy while loosening. It finally came loose. Your advice to grip the nut at the top on the shoulder is what did it for me. If you grip at the bottom it won't loosen up. Thanks.
Thank you for this! I was able to fix my kitchen faucet by myself with this guide. Total cost $20 instead of paying a plumber and I'll probably save that amount on the water bill now that there isn't a constant drip!
This was better than the one put out by Delta. You explained how to put in the seat and springs. However, I did have to re-wind and take a closer look. But good video!
Thank you for making this helpful video. After I installed new stems and seats on my double handle faucet, it's still leading at the spout. What did I do wrong? Were the new stems & seats defective? (3Z-6H/C Stems for Valley). Appreciate all your hard work and advice.
Wow! Best video on replacing stem in a double handed faucet on You Tube. The only thing I'm not sure about is how do you know which handle the drip is coming from? Should you just go ahead and replace both stems anyway?
If the water is hot, then I bet it is coming from the hot side. cold water cold faucet. Lukewarm both. Or if you have a shut off under the sink and you turn off the hot water and the leak stops that is the one to fix. and vice versa.
I thought the same thing.. Why is the camera person constantly panning to his face when he's looking down, pointing to a part? What, is the camera person in love with this guys face???
my both faucets, hot & cold, comes out of 1 handle in the kitchen sink dont have any water but the dishwasher attached with the pipes works fine...other places also water is running & flow is fine..cleaned up the debris from the faucet but still no help...do you know what is going on??
Thank you! I was trying to twist out the cartridge, but you showed me to pull it out. As it turns out, my tub cartridges and spout are not clogged after all, so I still do not know why my tub water pressure has dropped to a near trickle while pressure is still good in other parts of the house. I've drained and cleaned out my six-year-old water heater, which had very little sediment. The tub faucet is supplied by fifty year old iron pipe risers to tub from newer CPVC in the crawl space. Any ideas?
Does the Moen cartridge 1224 have the cup & spring? The Moen instructions for the 1224 don't speak to this. Maybe that's why I have a constantly dripping faucet within a week or two of replacing the 1224 cartridge. Also, the removal tool that Moen says comes with every 1224 is never included.
Informative video, thank you. The Videographer panned up to your face while assembling the faucet/cartridge parts. My suggestion...while you are a good looking guy, would be for the focus to stay on your hands. Thanks again.
I may have missed the part about turning the water OFF first but you should have reminded people a few times to make sure they turned off the water. If I missed it, sorry.
No, he didn't mention that in this video. I was surprised this was glossed over. I HAVE made the mistake of not turning off the water pressure but thankfully it wasn't all that high! LOL
I have a small question, I have a MOAN double handle faucet and it has two of the black gaskets. The thing is I did not feel the seed nor spring what am I doing wrong or does the faucet have any please help me if you can. Thank you.
Great video. Five suggestions. 1. Buy some silicone grease to lube the new rubber parts. 2.Turn off the water before you begin. 3. Place a rag over the drain to catch the small part you WILL drop. 4. Place another rag on the counter top so you don't scratch it up and catch he** from the wife. 5. Keep the springs. The replacements might differ slightly. It's obvious when the water won't turn off.
@bigsammieking We're so happy we could help! Thanks for commenting and be sure to let us know if you have any more home repair questions about anything else.
small flathead screwdriver getting on the edge insert and twist then a larger flathead screwdriver doing the same. If you can get to an edge. perhaps a knife blade to get it started.
The camera needs to be on the parts not the presenter's face. There are times he is showing something but we are watching him talking. This is not an audition.

I was about to give up and ready to replace entire faucet until I found your video. Thank you for posting it.
Thank you! Since my sink was newer, i was able to use the same parts without a problem. If they do fail, I now know how to replace it on my own with ease.
Just fixed my kitchen sink thanks to this video. Thank God I don't have to call the Landlord now ! (-:
it's videos like this that are the best, very detailed and straight to the point and I installed my kitchen handles like a pro... thank you so much
Thank you. The spring was the problem. I could see it was worn. I wasn't able to find the right replacement, but it bought me some time. And I know what I am looking for. Thank you greatly!

Thank God for this video, the spring is sooooo important!
thx, having the correct tools are very important when it comes to loosening the nuts. Great video

This was a great help. Like others I was unclear on the seat and the spring.
I had problems that the video didn't cover, but, in general it was a good video.
This was better than the one put out by Delta. You explained how to put in the seat and springs. However, I did have to re-wind and take a closer look. But good video!
Thanks for the video, I was putting the seat and spring in wrong until I saw this.
I would rather watch his hands than his face as he’s doing the repairs
the best one of the videos,,,,just changed mine......thank you....
Excellent in detail and presentation. Thanks. Faucet fixed.
Thank you for making this helpful video. After I installed new stems and seats on my double handle faucet, it's still leading at the spout. What did I do wrong? Were the new stems & seats defective? (3Z-6H/C Stems for Valley). Appreciate all your hard work and advice.
Thank you! Got my faucet fixed!

😂Every time he says "these nuts"😂😂😂
I needed some other question answered but a bit of advice - keep your camera on what you're doing & not your face. lol
I thought the same thing.. Why is the camera person constantly panning to his face when he's looking down, pointing to a part? What, is the camera person in love with this guys face???
Thanks for the tips! Really helped me out!!
Thank you...excellent instructor!
Let me guess, you focus on his face during an important repair point for the lip readers watching this!

very good video
Are the stems built in when only the top is copper (?) the rest is plastic and won't pull out ??
Informative video, thank you. The Videographer panned up to your face while assembling the faucet/cartridge parts. My suggestion...while you are a good looking guy, would be for the focus to stay on your hands. Thanks again.
for real
GOOD VIDEO, THANKS FOR THE HELP
This just saved me some $ Thank you !!!
Was helpful.
Thanks.
i'm looking for how to remove the center of it where the water goes through
stupid question, do you need to shut the water off?
The stem broke off inside the handle. How do I get the stem piece out of the handle?
I`ve been thru 100 of these videos hoping someone would tend the washers on the swivel spigot but no one has so far.
Turning off the water is a given. But i guess a lot of people might not know to do that under your sink.
At 4:25 ....Orient the seat: what does solid at the top and "what" at the bottom mean ?
looks like you are "repairing" a brand new faucet, which makes it too easy. How do you remove the stem when it's cemented in by calcium deposits?
I used a big pipe wrench
Vinegar or lemmon juice I have been told. I myself have used vinegar on my coffee pots and it works great.
I may have missed the part about turning the water OFF first but you should have reminded people a few times to make sure they turned off the water. If I missed it, sorry.

i did this and the handles are linking now no idea why
Does the water need to be turned off in order to perform this repair?
ah.....yes
What do I do if the screws are rusty and can't take them out?
WD 40 sprayed on should help.
I can't see the faucet
Not ONCE did Mr. Fixet mention anything about turning the water off before disassembling the faucet..... OY....
which direction did that spring go on??????
I was told to put the small side of the spring up, and the open side of the rubber gasket down on top of the small spring.
Why is the camera on the man's face, when he is showing what needs to be removed on the unit? Otherwise nice video.
@bigsammieking We're so happy we could help! Thanks for commenting and be sure to let us know if you have any more home repair questions about anything else.
its too tight, what can I do? it don't wanna come off
small flathead screwdriver getting on the edge insert and twist then a larger flathead screwdriver doing the same. If you can get to an edge. perhaps a knife blade to get it started.
Is anyone else not getting sound?
thanks, you save my ass this weekend from the wife
this and that kill cup or spring ahhhhhhhhh
The camera needs to be on the parts not the presenter's face. There are times he is showing something but we are watching him talking. This is not an audition.
Didn’t actually replace the stem
why would the camera guy keep videoing onto your face... stay focused on the faucet buddy....wow
Can you
Good info but the camerawork SUCKS. Stop moving up, keep it nice and tight on the action.
why won't you show what you are doing, does not help to video your talking face.. thank you
