Awseome review , your spot on about this camera.. I've bought, sold, returned and tested about 25 cameras in the last 3 yrs... Purely for fun, and recreation. I also help a few freinds from time to time that are pros in video and photo... This one's a keeper I wanted this 3 yrs ago... I could not believe how great it is at taking portraits at long telefoto head to waist shots.. I think this is the best allround camera ever made...
Thanks for this review. I have watched ALOT of videos when looking to buy a new camera. They were mostly nit picking about some little things that, too me, was if you're a professional why would you buy a bridge camera. Your review was talking to me and I bought the RX10m3. I've had it a few months now and I LOVE it. Thank you 😊
I agree with the others - good review. I did notice, ironically, when you were talking about the camera hunting to focus, the camera you used to record this was hunting as well.

Great review. If you are new to Sony then you will find the Function button (Fn) very handy for changing common settings like ISO, also you can customize the settings (and their position) that appear in the Fn menu.

What about the image quality with the full Hd clear image mode at 75x compared to the the image quality of a nikkon coolpix p950 at the sme zoom level 75x . Which is the best ?
Have you had any info on the fz1000 successor?
Love to see them do global sensor 4k(no crop), touch screen, and headphone out, and a 24-600 mm lens off cause.

A bit larger and a bit longer, Panasonic is introducing a second advanced compact camera, the FZ2500. This camera utilizes the same 20.1MP 1″ MOS sensor as the LX10, but optimizes video performance with the inclusion of DCI 4K video recording and a true 24 fps frame rate, in addition to more conventional UHD 4K and Full HD recording modes. Also benefitting videographers, this camera includes Panasonic’s CINELIKE D and CINELIKE V picture profiles for better grading capabilities, and V-Log L can be added via an optional upgrade. Additionally, high bit rate recording up to 200 Mbps is supported in both MP4 and MOV formats; video can be output over HDMI with a 4:2:2 10-bit signal; there is no recording duration limit; and a built-in ND filter can be used for enhanced control over exposure settings while recording.
More than just a video-optimized camera, however, the FZ2500 also sports a slew of specs for stills and movie users, such as a 50 fps continuous shooting rate with an electronic shutter, or 12 fps with a mechanical shutter, and an expanded sensitivity range of up to ISO 25600 for working in dim light. The built-in 20x Leica DC Vario-Elmarit f/2.8-4.5 lens covers a 24-480mm equivalent focal-length range, and 5-axis HYBRID O.I.S.+ controls the effects of camera shake for sharper handheld shooting. What are the maximum slow motion record-times? Read that 960fps is 2-3 seconds, but what about 120/240?
You can record XAVC S HD (1080p) in 100fps (PAL) and 120fps (NTSC) and make it as long as you like with audio. Slow it down 4-5x in editing on a 24p track and it will seem like 400-500fps.

my mark3 the pictures are too soft at over 200 mm , just fair 100 20 200 but nice, my old alpha57 dslr blows it away on pictures, but the mark 3 focuses faster.
Check your camera because my one is sharp all over the range.
Why can't Canon make a camera like this?
it doesn't work well in low light too much noise, but better in that sense than my old alpha 57
also at 1080p 120fps or 240fps is only 2 sec?
I've heard/seen/read somewhere that one can shoot video at 120fps in 1080 and just shoot a long footage of 10-20 mins, whatever.
Then one can take the smaller chunks of that as slowmo in the rest of the footage when editing.. Are they wrong about this +TransCanadianRocker?
120fps is unlimited with sound, 240and more fps are limited to few seconds
Can you do a variable zoom rate on the zoom ring? Or does moving the zoom ring cause it to move at one set rate, even though it might be set in the menu? When shooting video, sometimes want to zoom in or out VERY slowly and then stop zooming without making a noticeable stop. Can this be accomplished with the RX10iii?

Mate... 24p When you mention refers to frame rates. 4k refers to resolution.. You cant say 24p all the way to 4k..(2:49) It does not make sense what you are saying. What you can say is for example.. Full HD to 4k.. This will refer to the resolution at which you can shoot. You are rushing your speech and making some basic technical errors. just wanted you to keep that in mind for the future.
I have the RX 10 mark 3. It shoots at 4k resolution But at either 24,25 or 30 frames depending on Region. I have for example 25p at 4k. In the menu.
