    Dear Katie,
    If you wish to progress from being a just another Julliard School of Music graduate onto being a principal flautist in a major world symphony orchestra or an internationally famous flute soloist like James Galway, Jasmin Choi or Denis Bouriakov then you will need to demonstrate your memory skills to us all. Therefore, I challenge you to learn and play from memory the first movement of any famous flute concerto in two weeks. Also, to show us as your viewers the process you went through to achieve this result.

    What is with flute etudes and being in f major ( one flat, some of these are d minor)

      Actually this book has all the keys with up to five flats (major and minor) and some keys with sharps (I believe A, E, B and F# (all major and minor) but I’d have to check (E and F# are for sure))

    Why does it sound like she’s tonguing in the opening runs?

  • @beakerthebeaver581
    @beakerthebeaver581 4 года назад

    Katie is it true that an open whole flute sounds better than a student closed whole flute. I started sixth months ago but I’m advanced level I like to challenge myself and I’m considering buying an open whole flute. What is the difference between a closed and open whole flute.

    • @anettatusek8340

      I played on closed hole flute, when i bought open one it was like i was born again. You should buy it👍

    • @misslunaaar

      Psychic Mage God Like comparing open flutes to closed flutes which one is better? My flute teacher is suggesting I get a open hole flute.. don’t know what makes it better?

    • @misslunaaar
      @misslunaaar 4 года назад

      Anetta Tušek if your getting more advanced in flute playing would open flute be a better option? I just wanna know like why open hole over closed? I don’t rlly understand 🤦🏾‍♀️

    • @anettatusek8340
      @anettatusek8340 4 года назад +1

      @@misslunaaar bc when you get better at something and you wanna keep doing it and get even better than you are now you need better equpment. So you buy flute level above one you have now, and yes there are good closed one but open one give you more things to explore with them, you can close them with little things you get, but you can also open it. You get more space to work with and specially if you play jazz and work with improvisation.

    D-U-M-P H-I-M and use that time you would've wasted trying to keep him, to practice. You can't have two masters, D-U-M-P H-I-M.
