My request to all my Indian brothers and sisters :- we shouldn't compare ourselves with Pakistan anymore. We should start comparison with China and USA, only then India can become a developed country
Especially as an Indian muslim I want my hindu brothers and sisters not to follow any kind of hatred which will divide us, we as a nation should progress and we will do that only when we are united. The Britishers were successful in that partition because we were divided in the name of religion, please don't follow that route

I think the reason we all look at Pakistan regularly despite its shrinking size (compared to us) is because of its ‘nuisance value’. This episode looking at their economic situation is very helpful. It would help to have a sequel to this one to understand why it’s economy is in a tailspin and if there can be any hope for this country. This approach can only mean a weaker and weaker country as time passes by. Comparison of Pakistan's economy with states in India is interesting 👍
Theory: say no to family planning. Children are blessings of Allah.
Practicals:
Even though the plain numbers might match, Madhya Pradesh's economy is nothing like Pakistan's. *Industry and agriculture* contribute to *almost 2/3rd of MP's* economy, while services contribute 1/3rd. Pakistan's numbers are flipped, industry and agriculture contribute a bit more than 1/3rd, while services contribute 2/3rd. This is a reflection of Pakistan's remittance based economy, with transfers from worker's abroad making up more than 10% of national income. OTOH, MP earns money via surplus agriculture (wheat, soy, horticulture) exports and the output of its Indore based industrial cluster.
Pakistan's economy is most comparable to that Punjab and Kerala, but those states are better off due to lower population growth and transfers from the Union government.

So why don't Pakistan start selling some of it's land? Even we may be interested in buying out pok or some other territories.......
Good idea but that can't happen in internet age.
Those things were possible before internet/information age.
Why pok? Pok is already ours , we don't need to buy it , only need to take it.
Though I agree , we can buy some land of sindh which borders our country and Kartarpur for our Sikh brothers

Sir, I think there is a misunderstanding about Bangladesh's GDP. The current nominal GDP of Bangladesh as of today (1st December) is $409 Billion. $320 billion was the GDP of Bangladesh last year (2020). Just wanted to point that out.
@@priyadarshi8548 BD updated the base year from 2005-2006 to 2015-2016. That's why the GDP changed from $350 billion to 400 billion. Even India updated its base year recently, that's why last year India had only -7% GDP growth, instead of the -10%(roughly speaking) that all international institutes predicted.
@@priyadarshi8548 my apologies, I just assumed that part. But as far as I know, India did change it's base year recently, could be before the covid pendemic then.
@@priyadarshi8548 I don't know, but I think the base year was much older than that, that's why the government might have changed it to 2011-2012. Just a wild guess.

Charging interest on lending is haram, how can Saudis charge interest for loan to a Islamic republic of Pakistan?
Peaceful religion and peace anywhere in its proximity itself is haram😂
I wonder how Saudi Arabia justifies charging interest when it is supposed to be against Islamic principles.
They just officially use the word 'Profit' instead of 'interest'
All according to Allah's will, I guess
Yes indeed😆
"Pakistani government does not have any Money" is better wording than "Pakistan does not have any Money". In 2015, Greece Government defaulted on its debt from IMF. When the Government defaults, it does not mean people become poorer or people defaulted.
I think in the comment section everyone is happy for pakistan that they are in this worse situation but remember that an economically collapsed pakistan is more dangerous than an economically prosperous pakistan...
I'm thinking the same. If the Khan govt collapses and the Taliban take over, the Indian secret service will be monitoring their internal comms for a sign, ANY sign, that the Taliban have acquired the launch codes. If this intel proves reliable, we'll have no choice but to launch a conventional attack to destroy those missiles in their bunkers before they can be launched at us. Which of course will mean war, but they'll have left us no choice.
To some extent true but Pakistan pays pension for terrorist killed in India, spends money to create and move terrorist. It is lots of money and no body jumps to it freely. So economically poor Pakistan will have less ability on terrorist movement. Also if you are worried about nuclear- that may not happen as they have very robust nuclear safeguards. Do not easily assume America, China, Russia and Pakistan will allow nuclear combat- the mushroom cloud from such will make whole world unlivable. I do not want poor and broken Pakistan but it will not be any better or worse than what they are now.
I was thinking the same. They are now on ventilator what if they die

Thank you sir for shedding light for some lesser known facets of Pakistani economy. I have a innocent question- inspite of all their financial woes, how is that they are able to keep up their high defence spending and how is the army brass relatively immune to such situations!!
The Army takes a huge chunk of the budget leaving little for anything else
The army people get cushy salaries and lifestyle and if anyone complains all they have to do is to point the finger at boogey man India - "We must be strong to face India" is their line

Here's my question : what collateral did Saudi government keep if Pakistan is unable to repay?
I mean, if Pakistan defaults, that means they don't have money to pay. So how will Saudi retrieve the loan within 72 hrs?
Well it goes like this, if they fail to repay, there will be a court case in Saudi courts and any Public departments under Government control may be given to the Saudis.

If these GDP figures mentioned here are correct then we can safely predict an economic collapse in Pakistan unless drastic action is taken to reverse this trend. The economic outlook for the people of pakistan is extremely gloomy and unrest is easily predicted for 2022
India must be very cautious should Pakistan become a failwd state. For following reasons:
1. Nuclear
2. Taliban and Mujaheedens.
3. J&K problem.
4. War with India in J&K to sanitise economic default.
Yes I think pakistan may start a conflict with india to divert the attention of inflation issue
The fact that Pakistan is on the verge of failing even economically is worrisome, because Pakistan doesn't have the same restraint as China to engage in all-out hostilities.
Countries on the brink of failure are the most dangerous neighbors, that much I have learned from my German history.
We have trapped in Debt trap by another East india company 😭
Who is east india company in this case?
1. Cut your army in half (expense reduction).
2. Privatize Fauj Corp. (It will raise billions).
3. Land reforms: shift land from zamindaar to poor pakistanis (wealth generation).
4. Give India all Jammu & Kashmir princely state apart from Poonch and Mirpur divisions (big expense cut).
5. Seek debt relief package from India for J&K settlement (another revenue source).

Honestly Indians need to stop comparing Pakistan against Bangladesh. Bangladesh is miles ahead of Pakistan in economy. Indians are basically insulting Bangladesh at this point when comparing it to Pakistan. Before I’m wrong, please compare their economic data against one another. Bangladesh helped Sri Lanka recently with its financial crisis recently while we are now seeing that the IMF no longer wants to lend money Pakistan.
Are the two countries even on the same league? How much bigger the gap between Bangladesh and Pakistan needs to be for Indians to realize that Bangladesh is miles ahead of Pakistan?

Gdp does not define the wealth. It defines activity in the country or state. To say one is richer and other is poorer based on gdp is wrong.
They don't have a good metric for wealth. The nearest, Purchasing Power, ie the average time it takes the average worker to buy a Big Mac, doesn't factor how uneven the wealth is, or variety of goods - in India it is almost impossible (afaik) to get a real Big Mac - because Hinduism forbids eating Beef. It doesn't tell you that 300 million middle class Indians can easily afford one if it were available, but the working classes would find the cost prohibitive. Salaries here in London are vastly superior to Indian salaries, but most Londoners can't afford to own a home in London. Home ownership is wider in India, a "poor" nation.
@@jaybeebee9288 Thats true. However, gdp is like working capital that is available and does not account the dormant money thats locked in an account. If that is taken into consideration then I am sure that UP is richer than pakistan.
