      All Indian parties are economically left wing. Improperly implemented socialism is the bane of our existence. Lots of costly patchwork schemes (such as LPG) that together cost a lot more than one big scheme (free food for all) would cost, because people hack them in various ways (e.g. LPG cars, corruption) and because you can't stop a scheme once you start it.

    And many others

  • @jedidiahasriel7683
    @jedidiahasriel7683 2 года назад +8

    I would like to differ from this. Mr Gupta says that in economic terms, the BJP today is towards the Left. Let us not forget that corporate taxes are lower today. For the first time in Indian history, a government (which is under PM Modi) made a decisive shift towards privatisation. Also, Vajpayee was more moderate than Modi in terms of governance style. However, at the same time, Mr Gupta's argument on welfarism is true.
    The answer to this dilemma, then, rests not in the placement of the BJP on the political spectrum but rather in the spectrum itself. Rightist economics supports capitalism, while leftist economics supports socialism. However, there is one more category of welfare capitalism, which combines the Leftist and the Rightist economics to an extent.
    Thus, the BJP government is not leftist in economic terms but rather centrist, i.e., it is a government that follows welfare capitalism. That is why in wholesome terms, we call the BJP a right-wing party, since it is centrist in economics but rightist in every other sense.

    2. Narasimha Rao - The PM that liberalized India. He couldn’t win a 2nd term.

    in the aspect of religion, nationalism, spending on defense, BJP is right-inclined. In other aspects like agriculture, pro-poor welfare schemes, economic policies, levying tax from citizens it is centre-left inclined. BJP is very flexible and versatile. They believe in the horses for courses strategy. They have a set of leaders who hail from different backgrounds and a varied assortment of ideologies. Unlike the congress and other left parties, they are not a party with a fixed ideology. Usually, any party which is either left of centre or right of centre are very flexible who keep shifting from one side of political spectrum to another. Parties which are far of either side are too imbalanced and very rigid in their approach. Centre of any side is ideal for healthy functioning of any democracy.

This is becoming more and more discrimination rather than equality and it is coming to bite India in its ass as you see many many people leaving India who are majority upper castes and contributing majorly to the western economy. Then Indians cry and hate these individuals for leaving India and declare them as anti-national and such. Indians and Indian government prefer lower-quality engineers and doctors and then cry about it when not provided quality services and then run to private hospitals where there is no Reservations given. I recently read a report which said that the IT industry is discriminative because it has approximately 90% people from the upper castes and about how these firms should provide special reservation positions to raise the percentage of lower castes like wtf is wrong with people, the lower castes GET the top institutions easily and they are provided the same environment ,the same faculty and facilities and still are NOT able to secure a seat in these MnCs and its a fault of the firms ?

    Calling them economically left is a stretch too far. India is still very much third world in basic needs and i dont think water, electricity and gas connections and sanitation dont deserve a socialist label. They are not in the game of nationalisations and expanding subsidies like other left parties. Above all they are election focused. And they know Indians despite a culture of intelligence do not like adversity. We have an expectation government must end of our suffering even though the govt is not a European but a third world one. There are protests demanding jobs (lol) and when liberalising steps are taken to create growth vested interests such as farmers from two states will oppose. They just want govt job. Even if things like loan waiver mean we lose money to build road or hospital they do not care because most Indians think from community or individual interest than long-term national interest. What is the point of being reformist like C Naidu or Vajpayee only to lose an election because our village dominated electorate prioritises caste or schemes such as free laptops over development.

    i identify myself as a centrist that is why i love mr. shekhar's work. he doesn't seem to have a lot of non-negligible bias towards any side ...also i hate the wire and republic bharat equally
