  • I'm off to the Malaga airport as I'm heading to the UK for a few days. What's the Ford Focus RS MK1 like on a long motorway drive?

    Dont get that many bumps in the road in uk motorways lol

      You don't really feel them so much on a "normal" car 😊

    Justin have you considered a Mk2 Focus RS? Be interested to hear your thoughts on one. It’s been grim here weather wise, you must be itching to get back to Spain 😂

      I've never actually driven one. My mate had one and he loved it. I'm always tempted by them in the classifieds 😁

    Could not let the day go by, without wishing you a happy St. Patrick's Day ☘☘. God that suspension looks like it is hard going.

    This part of the motorway is really bumpy I remember us flying on one bad bump on the way to the airport.

    Yours looks like it drives like mine and I've got GAZ coilovers. I sometimes find myself coming out the seat on really bumpy roads 🤣. What suspension are you running? I was thinking of going back to stock as previous owner fitted the coilovers and I'm not a fan.

      Lol! I know what you mean about coming out of the seat!! Mine isn't stock. I don't know what it's got. I am looking at returning it back to stock though, just for a little bit more comfort as I use it daily.

    I remember my 2012 Evo X GSR. It had a 5 spd manual. On the Interstate at 70mph it would be about 3400 rpm. I averaged 15 mpg's. Didn't keep it long traded my Evo 9 MR for it. Mistake🙄 Safe travels my friend👍

      Thanks mate! We're so used to a sixth gear these days. It's hard to get used to the lack of it!

    Yrah see what you mean it does look mega bumpy.....pity they didnt fit dampers you could adjust back then like the VW dcc of today.flick a switch and youre in confort setting.

      I need to soften it a bit somehow...it's way too harsh 😅

    @lindsaydempsey5683 Год назад

    Stock suspension? Seems really harsh, making me appreciate my 2014 Focus ST, very comfortable to drive while still having good handling.

      It's not stock. I think it's stiffer than standard but I've never driven a standard one so I can't compare. But they were criticised for being way too stiff. Which is certainly the case with mine ☺️

  • @paulwright9656
    @paulwright9656 Год назад

    Is the suspension standard on yours Justin because I know they were fairly firm when new but I can never remember being continually bounced in ours like you seem to be especially on roads as smooth as the AP-7?
    Mind you, I'm probably twice your weight!

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  Год назад

      Yeah, it's not standard. I'm going to look to soften it but first want to try it on track with this extreme set up 😅

    Some of that fine hard rs suspension, I had a mk2 and a mk3 focus rs and they were all hard, firm but fair 😂 when driving them as they should be it was spot on but for normal driving was about firm, good vid keep up the content 👌 😀

      @FezzaYT  Год назад +1

      Thanks mate! Yeah, on track the stuff suspension setting was great on the MK3...but on the road...nah!

    That Audi badge made no sense, yet we do have to be inclusive and accepts however it identifies itself.
    Hopefully you do not regret the purchase, I believe it is still one of the best looking hatchbacks ever made.

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  Год назад

      Lol! Yes, we just have to accept the badge 🤣. No regrets with the car, just need to dial down the stiffness a little before it destroys my back 🥴

    I got confused with the new Audi badging. My mate had an A6 40 tdi courtesy car and i said fair play them giving you a 4ltr v8 diesel 😂 🤦🏻‍♂️

    I would look into putting different struts on the car the bumps look very harsh but fun on a back twisty road!

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  Год назад

      Yeah, it needs some softer struts for sure. The current ones are practically solid 😅

    that suspension! reminds me of the mk3 rs in stiff suspension mode. I can only take it for about 1 minute before feeling ill haha

    • @FezzaYT
      @FezzaYT  Год назад

      Oh yes, the stuff suspension on the MK3 is only ok for track. On the road it is literally back breaking 😅
