This guy is the man! So informative and I did the same thing! I didn’t label my buffs and just used same buffs on both materials and couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t getting the look I wanted. Thanx Evan!!!
I'm barely able to keep up with what videos you have made and the new one's you are putting out. Haven't seen a boring one yet. Gearing up for the 40 minute episode and review some of the already seen one's this weekend.
Hi Evan, we have managed to turn stainless blue through too much heat, it was only 1-2mm thick though. Absoulte nightmare, on the yachts we work on there's lots of thin aesthetic stainless steel items.
Thank you for the really great videos. I want to use my drill press for buffing smaller pieces. Can I weld the center plate to the ring and not use safety flanges for 8” airway buffs?
Yo, catching up with your videos, your channel looks good, professional, and informative, this particular vid was helpful, just to give you an example of your do-everything type viewers like me, what does it mean when you say “COLOR”. Or putting the “color coat” or whatever? Thanks! I’m looking for a vid that shows the cutting or polish of those drain holes in dump trucks too.
Yes they can be sanded. If they are deep you'll sand light and then just make them shiny pits. If they are light pits you can sand them out and shine it up. You might find this video helpful. ruclips.net/video/i9klCSlwCn0/видео.html This isn't a pontoon specifically but the process is exactly the same. Thank you for watching and thank you for the great question. Appreciate you watching and commenting.
I use different compounds on each. Green can be used on both metals but the brown should only be used on aluminum and the black should only be used on stainless. Will they work on the other metals sure. But will they work good or efficiently, no not really. Great question.
Hey Evan, recently got a job driving a tanker. OMG theres a lot to polish!! My question, how to load up your buff. I cant seem to get enough polish on my buff from the polish bar. Suggestions???
Evan, What do you think causes a white flannel buff to spit rouge. Running it at low speed probably 1500-2000 and it throws small specs of black that then don’t come off with the buff. Thanks!!!!
Not really. You can always put a more abrasive over the top and still use it. Example if it was a green rouge you can use brown over it but it'll never go back to a green rouge buff. I hope that makes sense.
restoring a 2014 pontoon boat and wish to get the toons shined up. I've got yellow and white buffs with the four primary compounds please advise as to what buff with which bar/compound to use. I started with yellow/Tripoli and got so so results but looked like needed more "umph" Please help
Check out my how to polish trailer rails and pontoons video. It will give you a complete step by step process on how to polish. You will likely need to purchase more supplies than just yellow and brown. Check it out. If you still have more questions give me a call at 9209790386 and I will try to help walk you through the process.
what would you recommend using to polish in tight areas where a big buff wont fit. I am working on polishing aluminum propane tanks for a camper and I am having trouble getting in the areas on the top near the valve. thanks
I recommend a product we carry called luhmi and a cone buff or mushroom buff on a power drill. That is the best solution I know. Both are available on goshineon.com/shop
Hey Evan i need to detail 2 boats one is a pontoon i need to get every tool needed can you help with a kit or something i will get an angle grinder if you dont have one to sell thanks
We do not use these exact buff any longer. If you go to our website www.goshineon.com you will see the stainless kit. It is red buff with black bar and green buff with yellow bar.
I am just starting out polishing and I bought your stainless kit that came with a red buff and a purple buff. It has a yellow bar and a brown bar. Can you tell me which bar goes with which buff?
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing o I've seen someone on youtube do it thanks I just use one of those mother's balls and light polishing compound to clean them up.
It is very possible. You just need to match your pressure and your overlap with each other. If your overlap and pressure match then you will have no white lines or black lines.
Wondering how much I needed to sand my forged wheels down and how to know with what grit Sand paper to sand them down with.any help would be nice thank you
Every job is different. Text a picture of close up how bad the wheel is to 9209790386 and I will try to help you with a starting point. I try not to sand more than I have to and there really isn't a set standard of where to start and finish.

your videos are great evan to keep up the good work

I've used black with Orange on cutting sometimes..
Definitely can but won't stay shiny long without a sealant.

I'll go over it with brown..then purple
What color should I use for crome

I have a video on how to load a buff.
When would you use the Zephyr Orange Ruffy wheel? I accidentally bought one thinking it was a regular orange buff. Is it useful at all on aluminum?
Evan,
What do you think causes a white flannel buff to spit rouge. Running it at low speed probably 1500-2000 and it throws small specs of black that then don’t come off with the buff. Thanks!!!!

I accidentally put two different compounds on my wheel (didn’t label my wheels) would raking them out solve cross contamination?

Which one is best for polishing guns ????
Depends what type of guns. If stainless you would go with the stainless buffs and compounds. If aluminum you'd use the aluminum buffs.

Is there a company that sells these buffing wheels in europe? Struggling to find them
Luhmi Amglos sells similar items in Europe.
@@EvanStegerMetalPolishing Thank you very much!
What buffs with what compounds would you use on plain steel?
My stainless kit is what I use on plain steel. But remember plain steel will rust in the elements.
Are u shipping worldwide for the tool for polishing ..from asia
We don’t sell grinders but everything else yes.
Hey Evan what compound do you recommend/use on stainless?
Goshineon.Com I sell everything I use. I have a stainless kit. Or you can buy just parts.

How do I find your kits ? I looked on the link
goshineon.com
Wish your website shipped to Ontario Canada option.... ☹️
It should be working now. Sorry we had some issues with the shipping not calculating properly but should be working now.

I apologize for missing this question. The buffs and compound colors have changed. Stainless not ir red with black and green with yellow.
Does that go same with chrome not to cross them
You can't buff chrome. Chrome is a plating. It will buff off.

What would the average price be per polished wheel?
I charge based on condition and quality desired. Every wheel is different.
Evan Steger say a good shape wheel how much would it run about?
@@BENITOHERRERA Your good shape and my good shape are likely different. Send me a pic of the wheel and I can get you an estimate.
