Well Josh, great information as always. I like the single valve shut offs like you have in this hookup because of repairs if needed. The valves are much simpler to repair than the single handle style. Trapping the drain in the wall is also great if you did your own rough-in and in our area it has to be 2" pipe for washing machines. Zip tying the hose is important since when you watch a washing machine start the initial cycle, you will see water drain out and just that little bit of force, the hose can wiggle out of the drain box. Always a safety feature and simple.
We had a nice whirlpool stackable units and the dryer had a steaming feature, super nice. Definitely a two person set up to maneuver in place especially with cabinets built around. I had a job years ago the stackable units were on the second floor and of course I would have needed a drain pan. The best part was the new bathroom layout we eliminated a 36" shower and I designed the bathroom remodel to use it for the stackable washer dryer unit. Nothing like a shower base for an emergency of water leaking. A closet behind was perfect for access to the plumbing and valves if an emergency happened to shut off the water. Like you said, protecting the tile, carpet or any other flooring. The customer still loves the layout because 90 percent of clothes, towels etc are on the second floor of this house. No bedrooms on the first floor. The original laundry on the first floor we left in case they sell and a buyer wants to put a washer and dryer there being off the garage.
Thank you again for the informative video and great job. One question for you. How do you like the style washer and does it have the agitator in the middle or is it the new style without. A friend of mine who sells appliances at a box store doesn't sell many because how they work and don't seem to clean as well. Never had one so I don't know. Thank you again Josh 🔨👍🏻🔨👍🏻

Can you hook up a portable washer to a standard size hook up? My washer and dryer broke and I want to hook it up to where my full size machine was. Is this possible?

I find it hard to believe that a professional keeps calling channel lock pliers a wrench and Crescent is a BRAND name often misused to describe an adjustable wrench.

you should look up "colloquial terminology" it should clear up your issues!
