I need your help! I don't know what you guys want to see, so let me know in the comments below!
LOVE the making of stuff, would like to see more of these, or even just an alternate copy of the original with a directors commentary dubbed over it. You guys are always fun to watch no matter what you're doing. Keep it up.
That was wonderful! I'm a stay-at-home dad and stuff like this is a nice bit of laughter in my day.
Amazing job, if i could afford adobe after effects i would love to start practicing and making videos like you. Lets just say you are an inspiration! :)
You ever afford it?
Who would of thought that these amazing content creators would make the scariest game of 2017
and one of the top 3 best vr games ever made in 2019 (other two are saints and sinners, and half life alyx
Lil bit late but half life Alyx way 2020
And bonelab
Give us some motion tracking tutorials! Haha. That vid of the guy rocking out on a car was AWESOME.
Freddie! Man! You do amazing things for a guy who runs around filming stuff and having fun.
I love the action stuff. You make it look professional. More action scenes and cool effects.
Keep it up! I'm recommending your channel to all my friends, geek or not.
my bones surely did work
My bones also lab
My junk hovers
I was actually very interested to see how you made it. I'm going into the digital media program and I may have to do something like this so that was very helpful, Thanks. :D
@nikdogagain I do have some stuff for that but I would argue that it's a general "editing mindset" type of tutorial - you have to think slightly differently with both programs
Yes
I don't see why this video got 10 dislikes. I mean what is there to even dislike? 1. He is a great teacher. 2. He teaches you tricks with video editing. 3. He shows you how to do different things while filming. 4. He's Asain.
Nobody ever talks about sound! How do you do the lightsaber sounds?
download templete,,, i think
HerocowTheRusher A template is a text layout.
MrGalaxy sorry, that's the first word that came into my mind.
the behind the scenes section is one of the things that makes your videos so epic, you show us aspiring shooters how to do things.
MAZE BANK IS REAAAAAAAAAAAAL!
I like both the effects stuff and behind the scenes, it's great to see the video and then see how it was done.
Yeah freddiew, I can't deny that you do indeed respond to people. You and swoozie are about the only ones. Props.
The original one is very cool
and getting to see how you did it makes it even cooler
now we can see how much work the effects must have been
great job
Its really nice to see these in the making videos. Gives us more of a feeling of how much work goes into these shots.
One of the best Lightsaber vids out there!
Freddie, as a junior in highschool who's interested in majoring in Film, I find this kind of behind the scene stuff really, really informative and insightful. Thanks for the quality production as always.
I Liked this kind of behind the scenes / tutorial style of videos, keep up with this formula!
Hey Freddie! I love all your effects tutorials! I'm just starting to use after effects and I'm trying to teach myself how to do some of these things. The more you can teach me the better! Keep it up!
wow freddie, you are REALLY good at the effects and it takes so much time! great effort!!
Genius dude, truely inspiring. I have to say i'm so impressed with all the fight sequences ive seen from you guys, the environment effects are stunning, well choreographed and really well directed. From sweet gun battles to intense sword fights, show me some more badass fight scenes!!!
I really enjoyed the vid! Thanks for giving us a peek at the editing of the lightsaber effects.
Keep up the great vids!
Awesome. I love your behind the scenes stuff as much as the stuff itself. You guys are inspired.
Definetly an excellent choice to have a second channel. Behind the scenes stuff brings more of the magic to the table. I think you should keep it up!
You're awesome.
Your behind the scenes are really great, keep them in for every video.
I like this, you should definietly keep showing how to do your stuff, I'm a geek myself, so I love this stuff. keep it up man! its awesome.
I really loved to see how the light saber effects worked - but the behind the scenes were also funny as hell ^^
But the effects were actually better for me.
I love you guys and what you do Im currently a student in filmmaking and this is inspiring me sooo much XD I wanna do all of this and yes every special FX film maker needs a lightsaber video at least one and Im gonna look at ur guys' tutorial so I can attempt it. Im pretty sure I have all the programs needed. I have Final Cut Studio on my MacBook Pro with Adobe After Effects. This is gonna rock Thanks for posting these behind the scenes
This really helped a lot. I'm working on Laser effects with Vegas so I really appreciate it
The effects are super bomb, and i like the behind the scenes. super awesome xD
Is there any way to do this in Final Cut Pro?
yoooooo i love you guys!!!! totally do like lots of videos and the behind the scenes stuff...cause we would all like to know how to become great like you guys are!! :)
I think it's great what you guys are doing! Keep 'em coming!!! I'm deffo telling all my friends about you!
Cheers!
who could dislike this video....! Love what you are doing.
I actually loved this video. I am very interested in film making and effects and would love to someday make videos like yours. That being said, this was very informative and I can't wait for the next one.
I think much people are rude with you, you are great, you rock and your videos are good, I think you rule and by your effects and everything you are one of the best youtubers ever!
You're the best thing that ever happened to RUclips. :D
More behind the scenes, very interesting, I had no idea how you would go about doing this.
this video was super helpful. I always wanted to know how to make light saber effects. and frame by frame doesn't sound to hard.
Smokin' cool stuff there, the original vid is HILARIOUS particularly the end ... WOW. I did enjoy seeing how to on th eeffects, it owuld be cool to see teh mailbox sequence broken down as well. Kudos guys that is just a gas, you should do a series 8-D
Really interesting. Nice to see that you are just a bunch of guys having a laugh behind the scene's as well. Far to many people take them selves to seriously.
Also pretty interesting to see aftereffects. I assume you have to edit every frame? Guess that takes awhile and in away not far from stop motion days... Cheers for the video!
Yes, please do more of this effects tutorials! they're really great!
I love the videos! The effects and behind the scenes stuff is the best part :D :D
that was actually pretty cool. Simple, funny and interesting. I liked it.
@AyvinShard360 The plane is an actual plane, just comped in
Hi Freddie, I really enjoy your videos, keep on doing what you do man!
Another great way to create the light saber is to simply apply the glow effect a few times to the white solid. And adjust the settings to work off of the alpha channel. You can add a wiggle effect to make the saber flicker automatically too. That way it is all done in one layer.
@Bizza12345 Yup - with two people it isn't that bad but it does take a long time
Tons of great info, actully learned some stuff, neat trick with the white mask for the lightsaber glow, I'm going to try this. Really cool stuff man. Like the behind the scene stuff a lot, thanks.
You know what would be kind of cool? Being a small-time editor I know I've always enjoyed watching those souped-up Dragon Ball-Z videos, and of course all were unprofessional but I think you guys could definitely pull a widely entertaining fight. You and your friend from the Jedi A-holes video could pull off a good parody of Vegeta vs. Goku and make it look dramatic and all that fun stuff. :) That's what I'd like to see.
I'd love to see more behind the scenes, like how you did the "guitar-playing-on-a-vehicle", even though I'm sure that one is super simple. The light sabre behind the scenes was very interesting!
I'm loving the music related vids too.
Freddie, never disappoints
it's great to understand how you made those videos; I usally don't watch "behind the scenes" videos, but this one is funny and i think you should do some others now and then
That... was actually very informative. Thanks Freddie!
If you guys ever have a 'writers room' period before making vidoes, I'd love to see how you come to decisions on what videos to make.
Clearly in some cases it's current pop culture like Standing Cat, but I'd also like to see how you came to the decision on ideas like Price is Right, Rock on the Car Roof, 3 Best Friends, etc. I love learning about what brings people to create.
GREAT idea on a channel, Mr. Wong! Don't worry, I'll always believe it's magic.
I remember the first lightsaber effect I dide. I used a pool cue as well lol. I like all the special effects tutorials. Keep them up :)
more tutorials would be incredible :D!
your freaking awesome man!
Great video Freddie!
I love video effects, and I've always tried to pick up on how you do certain effects. More tutorials like this would be awesome
I would like to see more special effects, behind the scenes stuff like how you made the mailboxes fall over or how you climbed on the top of a moving car and played the star spangled banner. THANKS! :] love the vids btw
Thanks for showing the lightsaber effect, it was informative. Now all I need to do for a good laser-axe effect is just to make a cardboard place holder for the laser effect, awesome
hey this is your best behind the scenes.
I love these behind the scenes vids.
More behind the scenes!! I loved it
it was awesome!!! loved itttt!!!!!!!! you should do more stuff like this!!!
I think you're skits are very funny and I also like that you're putting up these behind-the-scenes videos. I love watching stuff like this (I'm a DVD extras junkie). After Effects can be a blast to work with. The first real AE work I did was for my first music video and I went nuts with it; the video is essentially all AE, with a tiny bit of mangled video thrown in. I'm curious if you've done any over the top AE stuff that you haven't shown or if you have anything in the works.
i loved it, i was suprised of the easy methode you used to make a lighsaber.
let see it all! All the effects and behind the scene stuff
Editing skillz still @ level: AWESOME
Please more effects, they absolute rock!!!
Your tutorials are so awesome! They even got my girlfriend interested in action stuff!!
[0:00] press this at the beginning of the video and you won't have to watch any ads! It's working for me so far!
the behind the scenes is always badass
Nice behind the sense video Freddie, and if the definition of professional is always serious and composed when your at work. Then I would have to be the most un-professional Graphic Designer there ever was. Good thing I'm going back to college to expand into Motion Graphics that way I will have another shot to be a professional in another creative industry. Keep up the great work.
You make me want to move from macromedia flash 8 to adobe after effects. Its soo cool and interesting.
Thanx for taking the time to show the behind the scenes :) u have cool friends willing to take the pain, like falling off a bike. I would totally do that, anything for a great shot, well almost anything.
Id love to see some effects tutorials or even tips and tricks would be awesome.
Awesome! I love watching tutorials and getting tips how to do such cool effects. :) I want to be able to make awesome videos myself. Just need a few good ideas. :)
I think its cool to show how things are done, so other people who wan't to make their own vids can watch and learn.
This behinds the scenes video is a great idea. I'd also like to see how you made the gravity gun video.
damn this shit is great, a little behind the scene is always good and btw love the videos
I know nothing about graphic designing or anything like that, but even I found this extremely interesting. If you make any more BTS videos I'll certainly watch them.
Awsome videos :)
Hope that you will do more tutorials showings tips like the lightsaber or guns videos !!!
I'd like you to have a go at something that you did with Mysteryguitarman does. Something that involves really difficult to do effects. I love your videos.
Love your videos Freddie
Easiest way to do it. Thanks Freddie
was hoping you'd make this channel :) thank you haha
Cannot believe that some dudes who were good at VFX made some of the most revolutionary VR games. Good job Brandon and the entire team at SLZ.
No way I found you here
@SimplySpoons Motion Tracking is its own vid - coming soon
These are really good tutorial vieos, Please keep it up.
great! : D
More After Effects tutorials please
I love watching your videos but the behind the scenes even moreso.
i love all your videos!!
but what i would really like to see is a video for all the n00bs like me who are just starting out with videos. most of the stuff you do seems really difficult. i tried a few of the things you have showed in your tutorials and got really screwed up. but i love your stuff!!
@SuckaPlzStudios That one will be its own tutorial vid
Logans fricking awesome, more Logan please
I watched all 10 seconds of black at the end expecting a surprise.
You disappoint me Freddie. D:
I was a little more interested in how you guys did scenes like the mailboxes and airplane in Jedi A-Holes. Nicely done anyway!
Do more effects please XD they are awesome!
@THR33lives Gun Effects are definitely on our list
