The moment my eyes locked on that thumbnail for the trailer video I was like ✨EXCUSE ME?!✨ you mean I get to live my dream hobbit life ??

I agree that it looks a bit off, but it does say that the footage is alpha footage, so I'm hoping the characters are refined by release. Hobbit Day would be a perfect release date. Can't. Wait.
Absolutely! There's still plenty of time and tbh even if the characters don't change I will still be playing the crap out of this game.

I surprisingly like the character art, though maybe a little tweaking would make most others happier with it. Super excited for this game! The hobbits are what I loved about the movies and one of the only reasons for watching, just to get a glimpse of how they live. So very happy to see this game becoming a reality!
I honestly feel even if they don't tweak anything it will grow on me. Regardless I'm going to play the crap out of this! Dream game!
I do hope that they polish the graphics a little bit before release.The character models are a little funky looking but still excited for this game!
It has to be Gandalf, no other wizard was interested or knew really of hobbits so definitely set before lotr but could even be before the hobbit.

I also didn’t love the character art it feels like Nintendo ds graphics and I just want it to be much cuter like how they look in the promo and cover art but I’m hoping that they will spruce it up a bit before final release

Looks like The Sims in Middle Earth.
the eyebrows and the bridge of the nose freak me out - the furniture looks off somehow too, like not quite lived-in or "hobbity/cozy" enough - I am hoping for the best though
Too cartoonish for my tastes. I was hoping with Weta developing this game, that it would have been a bit more realistic with its graphics.
