You just saved me so much money getting my hair done I been debating if I wanted to get these now I’m debating if I wanna try to do em or have somebody do em
Queen Dekoda yes absolutely, they can be taken out as long as you do t leave the style in past a month, even after a month the hair starts the process of locking but still hasn’t locked completely and can be combed out
Semmyheart the hair may not lock using eco styling gel, it’s not meant for locking and it causes build up. It’s would be a good foundation to start locs with
These are beautiful! I have 4c hair and I will get locs hopefully before the end of the year. I'm thinking comb coils would work better with 4c hair? I know my hair might not look exactly like this but I really love comb coils 😩
Me to I hate my perm and i regret it cause my natural hair is curly and thick but it was way to thick and my mum couldn’t take it no more so she permed it (btw she is a hairstylist and I was younger when she did this to me).
@@JJ-fb6dq I hate how my mom permed my hair immediately when I turned 4- it’s no fair but I’m 17 now and I’ve been natural since 2019. My hair’s never been this healthy in my life!!
I'm very interested in getting this done to my hair but my only worry is that my hair may not be even all the way around, what would you recommend. Thank you
Hello I was told not to do anything with my starter coils for locking I have tucked the ends in out of the way that's all. Will this be a problem in my locking process??
I want to start my loc journey today and I have a tight loc pattern/ coils and I don’t know what products and how will I maintain the hair after the coils for day one. Please help
To me locs are simple you don’t have to do much to them but you just want to make sure you keep your hair slightly moisturizing so that it doesn’t over dry. Use a light leave-in moisturizer, or water sealed in with oils. I saw an article a while back that gives pointers on how to care for your locs at home. It’s talks about when to wash, how to wrap your hair and the basics. I hope this helps. Here’s the link, naturallclub.com/blogs/the-naturall-club-blog/healthy-thriving-locs-in-10-simple-steps
D'Anna Edwards it’s may be netter to use a locking gel instead of a cream because creams and waxed leave your locs with more build up. Taliah Wajiid has a nice line of gels for locs and I’ve used Mango and lime locking gel in the past. It just depends on your preference
This hair grade doesn’t need clips... you can see by the coil pattern and grade that her hair coils just by looking at it... my hair is the same way...
Do you find that the hair marries together more with these parts?? I'm looking to get either fan or diamond parts...I like the fullness you can create with the fan parts, but I'm looking to maintain my own hair after starting, and would like to keep my parts as together as possible so they don't thin out...any advice is appreciated 🙏
Shea Dangelo No I haven’t had any problems with the hair trying to marry. As long as you keep up with regular maintenance they are good to go. Even with trying to keep the parts together sometimes the hair still does its own thing. Each loc will have its own personality and grow differently and at different rates sometimes. Good luck with your loc journey, I know you will fall in love with your locs and watch you hair go through changes in your journey
@@AmandaChantell thank you so much for the reply and the positivity ❤ now to find someone to start this hair as beautifully as you do with your clients 🤞
Diamond or fan parts will definitely give you the fullness you want. Just try to do as much research as you can before starting. I know so many people who didnt do the research and ended up combing them out after 6months and restarting. A lot of times thinning comes from retwist too much or waiting too long to retwist/maintain. As long as the loc to part ratio is good you should be fine. If you have thin hairs you don’t want your parts to be too small and if your hair is thick you don’t want them to be too big either so just be careful with that and make sure the person that help you start your locs is knowledgeably as well
AmChantell does finger coils come out curlier? like more of a wavy coil? i’ve always wondered why comb coils & twists are more popular for starting and no one ever talks about finger coils
Yes the hair has to be wet for this process and the kind of deep conditioner is based on your preference. I use Salon products. Design essentials is a great line for natural and locked hair
The loc process can last anywhere from three to six months, depending on your hair type and how fast it grows. Some individuals hairs even take longer than 6 months to completely loc, everyone’s experience is different
Yes. Over time the hair will loc. To loc you leave them in and just retwist new growth. The length of time it takes the hair to loc differs. Some people it takes as little as 2-3 months to loc and others it takes longer. It depends on the texture, the person’s lifestyle, maintenance, etc...
Kae L. Not it’s not bad at all and i haven’t had any issues out of their line. I just like to try different products. I work in a salon and we get distributors who bring in different products for the suite owners try out and Some products work different on different hair types.
Sydney Dandrea I always do comb coils on wet hair and the the product (locking gel) keep the hair smooth and tamed. The water and locking gel works with nature and the curl pattern. If the hair has a looser curl pattern than I usually use clips and sit the client under the dryer until hair is completely dry
Sydney Dandrea oh ok cool, no problem, I just started my cousin’s locs and she has a looser curl pattern as well. Definitely had to use clips for her curl pattern
