Following the service announcement Johnny Rico and General Dix Hauser are discussing the situation with Captain Lola Beck missing along with the skymarshall. Rico is informed he will be attempting to rescue the missing citizens with only seven men.... which looks impossible. All we see is a space station orbiting a planet. Indeed, the threat of the Bugs sucking Lola’s brains out is a driving plot point of the last two acts of the movie.
