- Live Folders have landed in Arc - starting with GitHub!
No setup required. Simply make a Pull Request and Arc will create an auto-updating folder in your sidebar for you.
This is Ben's favorite feature so he joined us to walk through it with you.
Thanks to all the beta testers who helped refine this feature with us since Feb - and stay tuned for more Live Folder integrations coming soon!

Kudos for who did the little wave animation at end.
THAT CUTE LITTLE ANIMATION AT THE END!!!!!!
Oh yess, thanks for pointing it our. So Brilliant!
Made the front look like a dong
OMG It was already happening and I didn't even question where it came from. 10 steps ahead of me - very cool.
Hey man can you review my PRs my Arc sidebar is kinda full
it would be pretty wild to release an api that programmers can use to add support for live groups through something like extensions yk
with user permission
Can't wait for this on Jira, Confluence and ClickUp!
i really love the folder structure. Saves a lot of time not typing them again and again every time i open my browser.
I was doing this already but as a manual process! This is really nice!!!
I've been in love with this feature. Well done!
It's also awesome that The Browser Company let their people shine who worked on the feature 🤘
Amazing Team! I'm obsessed with Arc browser
Edit-please Dont Over-Complicate with more features
Great feature, thanks! It would be great to be able to set the filters for those retrieved PRs: for instance, I would like one live folder in my personal space and another one in my professional one with the separated PR accordingly (like, by filtering by the scope of the repository for example).
Arc amazes me every time 😮
My idea of Live Folders was that they would be able to find blogs, news, various articles that I find interesting. Did I misunderstand or is that a future feature?
Future feature! I think they just decided to release the Github live folders now
So awesome!!! It is exactly what my workflow needs
that is sick! it saves me a lot of work. thank you
hoping to see some QoL changes prioritized rather than these new features and AI stuff. Namely, the option to change font and pen color in easels, the option to change the size of the padding which appears on the edges of the arc window, making it easier to create specific gradients in the edit theme menu, and allowing the font color of tab names to be selectable between black and white rather than being auto-determined. Thanks.
Not a developer so I have no idea what this does.
Same. Very confused as to what this new feature is.
In a nutshell, when another developer is done with their code and need you to review it, you see those pending tasks right on your sidebar instead of you going and checking.
This is incredible.
one of my fav features too :)
Been using it in Early Birds, and it's pretty cool!!
Where can we check what's new in Early Birds? Or do I have to find the features myself and there are no patch notes anywhere?
@@sirbughunter Unfortunately there's no release notes: they expect us to find the new features ourselves :(
I need this for bitbucket 🙏
uooow this is amazing, Arc is the best
I'd love to see some Sidebar API so I could write same thing for Jira / Bitbucket / whatever I can imagine 😍
I see in the release notes that we can just delete live folders to make sure they aren't created again, but I don't want to have to do things like this every time Arc adds a new integration. Please let this be something users can disable entirely! Or better yet, let users opt into new features, instead of opting out! I really like the way Arc is designed and am able to organize my tabs in a much better way than other browsers, but I don't want all these AI and "automatically do stuff for you" features.
EDIT: I've found the setting to disable this, but I still hope opting in rather than opting out can be something the team considers.
No problem for beta testing!
Would love to see support for Pull requests in Azure Devops too!
did you take inspiration from wofi when new tab?
Guys, please, place a little [Mac] in the title since Windows version has only fraction of Mac version functionality. In other words, I'm waiting eagerly to get same functionality as Mac does)
And I wondered, when did I start collection github links in my sidebar :D
I neeed help. how do I do a split tab with one of my pinned favourites, I often split those pages with others but currently have to copy paste the link into the new tab section and then split from there
nice!
This is awsome. How do I become a beta tester?
Can't wait for Native RSS implementation! (However, I will patiently wait >o
I have the Windows Beta and I know a Beta by definition isn’t a finished product but it seems like it shouldn’t even be considered an Alpha. In comparison to what’s capable on Arc Search or the Mac version, Arc for Windows is pretty much just a re-skinned Chrome. Is there a timeline to catch Arc for Windows up on features like the AI integration, etc.?
cool 😍Now a folder for gitlab merge requests please 😁
how about PR's from my companies internal gitlab installation? can i also pull them into the live folder? somehow? plz?
oj simpson is dead? what’s up with that?
Super like ❤
Is there any way to activate developer mode in arc for windows? If so, what's the shortcut?
Chrome was disabling inactive tabs for performance reasons... I take it you just disabled this performance optimisation and called it a feature??
best browser EVER
So no rss....
I guess if you made a GitHub project where every news site update became a pull-request you could use this feature in that way? 🤷🏻♂️
Yeah, that’s what I was hoping for with it, maybe that’s just not quite ready yet
Which mac book are you using in the video!?
Macbook Pro
@@HarmFlo Can i get exact model, storage, ram and chip information? I am looking to get one, so!!
this is huge
Can the Live Folder's be customized?
Is there any way to delete a bookmark in arc that was imported from google chrome?
How to use it?
does is support anything else?
Does it only support GitHub ?
I think so, yes. However, new MAX features have been released.
@@Pro_Photo like what? I don't see any new MAX stuff in the settings
@@ArgoFowl RELEASED doesn't mean AVAILABLE. Browse for me is released, but still not available
@@Pro_Photo if it is not available, is it really released? I mean, semantics don't matter THAT much here
@@murdendev but if something was presented, does it not mean that it was released? Released = Presented. I think....
just for mac version, right?
When to add support for other languages
does it also give github actions/pipeline updates?
Second bitbucket next!
No, but GitHub itself updates the icon with a check or a cross.
I deleted a live folder and it isn't coming back? Anything i can do?
Click on the "..." next to your space name and there is the "live folders" option
什么时候可以推出iPad版本?
When for gitlab ? 😇
I feel like I check your site every week to see if it's available on Windows yet! And every week I'm left sad 😢
i got the beta
@trevics_ 👀 how? Where?
@@Hollera8 you gotta enroll and wait for the email to come
@kashifsworld2792 oh so that means I didn't make the cut 😢
hoping the same for Linux! I need to try this browser
I'm waiting an API for it!
And for previews as well.
It just won't work: not everybody uses github and gmail and ldk jira.
You need to make it flexible as Raycast did.
I received the invitation to install arc but it is only available for windows 11 (win 11 has many bugs). I have win 10, when will it be available for win 10?
I got the Windows invite but I can't install it.
We want bookmarks!
arc windows 10? when please!!!
WIN Brooooooooo
Best Browser
WoW
when arc releasing
wooooowwww
What’s about bitbucket ?
How to create this Live Folders?
No setup required. Simply make a Pull Request and Arc will create an auto-updating folder in your sidebar for you.
@@TeenageJesusSuperstr so you are not required to link your github account?
best browser, but not what I was expected from this feature. :(
Can't download it. On a waitlist. My friend use it but I can't download it. What's the difference bettwen us?))) what a pity
Give me access to the windows beta already :(
Well, even after watching this clip, I still have no idea what this function means.
How would that work for Jira, Slack, Figma?
just wish i had the invite or that someone using macOS could make one with my email :((
Please make it available for windows
Please make a android version of arc 😢😢
looks great! hope it'll support RSS feeds in the future
ಅಣ್ಣ ವಿಂಡೋಸ್ ವರ್ಷನ್ ರಿಲೀಸ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಪ್ಲೀಸ್
ohhh
Omg game changer
Wow, you take away right click move to folder, but _this_ will be the killer feature everyone will use???
I know, I guess most of Arc's current users must be coders? As this isn't a feature the vast-majority of the general public would ever need
I don’t think live folders have to be from GitHub, this was a weird promo
I couldn’t agree more, living without the “right click move to folder” option has been really frustrating.
Come on finally release ark for windows!!!
mb android)?
Need GITEA supportttt. .......
what about gitlab?
Came to say the same.
Watched the video 3 times.. still no idea what it does..
As far as explaining things, this was a horrible job.
Put down TikTock, get out of your dev bubble every once in a while and talk to people.. You're never gong to grow your browser if you don't learn how to sell it to new users.
A cool feature perhaps... but how much of your userbase are coders and so therefore need what is essentially a Guthub pull-request feed?
Seems a bit niche to me 🤔
I, myself, am a coder, but I can only assume that this is more or less a public test to see how the feature works in general for people. Then hopefully they bring in RSS feeds and somehow allow for us to make our own integrations.
They did a survey on which integration to do first. Github came first, Notion second, Google Workspace third. You don't think they didn't ask their audience in that choice, do you?
they did a poll asking what people wanted integrated and over 50% of people answered GitHub integration
Doing this for my tab, without me ever asking for it, was a huge letdown. Took me like 20s to figure out how to undo it. Felt bad and never tried the feature again
Androiiiiiiiid is gonna be my favorite feature.....by far ;)
Yap^^ I have been asking them for an Android version for half a year, I think cross-platform compatibility is important for the browser, and an Android version will follow Windows, especially since they released Arc Search for iPhone.
Sorry, but Android is not scheduled before 2025 at least. In the meantime, look up prices of refurbished iPhones or whatever the cheapest SE model is in your country
@@dftfire I'm from Russia. IPhones int so useful in our country, cause apple just block all Russian apps in app store. The most of Russians use android instead IOS.
@@dftfire 2025?! 00000. OMG, its so sad((((
@@Pro_Photo switching to iPhone. L O L.
i need this browser on linux :sob:
Windows
Why? This just opens up a series of random integrations that have to be supported and maintained.
Honestly who cares, open up a plugin system, make the browser easily programmable.
So...RSS, basically?
I'm Not going to lie Arc browser in Windows is kind of bad(actually bad).
Fix old sh*t instead of releasing half baked sh*t with bugs
Do you know how a company works?
first
worst browser
because....
it's better than chrome
