      Cause they would not make a move unless it was more than one. Looking back at most sith. They sit back quietly gaining more information from previous Darkside users and found someone else to aid them. Also Yoda is hundreds of years old and probably had read on them a Lil bit. If there was more than two then most likely someone would slip up revealing themselves to the Jedi in a failed attempt at some point. Darth maul has done this many times through out his life span.
      Another possibility he sensed a disturbance in the for when sidious and his master started playing with life and death.

      If you want the thing the author stole it from, it's the sandtrout skin from second or third book in the Dune series. "Stole", as in, near directly plagiarized from a source decades older. The sandtrout form a symbiotic skin around a character, rendering them near-immune to heat-based attacks like lasers, while also augmenting their speed and strength. It's a straight rip-off with a different name.

      Orbalisk would work way better with a Gen’Dai host (durge’s species). They can shape themselves, regenerate, possess great speed and strength. You add force sensitivity, a leaning toward the darkside and the orbalisk beetles, what you’d have is a singular being formed from a bond between 2 species that best compliment one another, the darkside so natural through a mastery over pain.

    The armor may have been cool but the draw backs just were worth for the Rule of Two Sith, maybe when the Sith were still in large numbers but they need to be a phantom menace to Jedi and Republic. Image Sidious wearing that kind armor prior and durning the prequels a Jedi or ally of theirs would start to wonder if only curiosity and when they learn what it is they start mistrusting him and that might be first domino that might end of the Grand Plan

    But if your goal is to stay hidden, be stealthy and/or not fight, its definitly a serious pain in the butt.
    Thus do I think it is only usefull, when you are fighting for your life on a daylie basis for prolonged periods of time.

  • @Odinfang
    @Odinfang 10 месяцев назад

    After thinking on it for quite some time, I think I know how you not only could bring back orbalisks into canon, but improve on what they provide. If feeding on the force makes them secrete enzymes and chemicals that enhance speed, strength, agility and dark side connection, it’d make sense if you could somehow extract them from a host hooked up to iv’s and submerged in bacta. If this is possible, a dark sider could kidnap people to make into hosts of orbalisks and channel the dark side into the hosts from a safe distance. Take out the pain of the orbalisks eating a sith, you still have a very powerful chemical concoction that can be collected, arguably even refined for stronger effects. There’s also the toxin that can break down a host in the subatomic level if even one orbalisk dies, which also can be collected and weaponized in this similar manner.

    Couldn't he use the dead Orbalisks' bodies as armor for lightsaber profness. Only needing to wear it while in engagments where he needs no stealth?

      Except they were killing because they were releasing toxins into him once they died and had to be removed. Apparently they couldn't be re-attached.

    Why bother withthat armor given the drawbacks? Vader’s suit caused him pain and enhanced his powers. Instead, Bane should have hunted a bunch of Mandalorians for their armor and forged his own.
