I cheered along with them my first time playing. Which was just the other day lol Mostly cause I know thats the voice of the Joker on the other end. How can I not love him
If there was ever a game that needed, "Side with the Antagonist" dlc, then this was it. Either that or New Game Plus - taking back Kyrat with the help of Pagan.
He is so good character. In my opinion he is the best character and antagonist from Far Cry. Vaas is so awesome but Pagan is my master. I want join to Royal Army.
I think its just Michael Mando that is just so damn good But yes Pagan as a character overall is just so much superior honestly. Plus the payoff at the end is way better then Vaas's and he is the voice of the new Joker I hear all the time. So How can I not love him
That really happened by the way. Sort of. Kim jong il brought kim jong un to disneyland with a fake passpor and Kim jong un's older brother was spotted at several Eric clapton's concerts. He was once caught in china by border guards because his ID was using "fat bear" as the legal name Dictators almost seem like a fun bunch at times, then you remember all the other stuff, like human rights violations and such...
44:13 This is where Pagan goes from evil dictator to surrogate father figure… the way he says “Lakshmana shouldn’t be alone anymore” is a little moving
What about that one line over the radio where he talks about Amita and Sabal and then is like "They're afraid of you, Ajay. And they damn well should be."
That's so weird, 20:05 played out a little differently for me. When I was watching the cut scene, before the jailer yelled "Get on the floor" he opened the cell door first, *then* he told me to get on the floor and afterwards everybody walked the dinosaur, it was the strangest fucking thing.
(This is a long post, so read if you really want) I do not entirely know what has garnered my opinion, but I feel that I am in the minority who adore far cry 4. Admittedly, I acquired the game two years after it's release in a second hand collectors edition, but I have not ceased to love every aspect of this game. I recognise the blatant similarity to far cry 3, and it should be acknowledged that this aspect is not ideal. However, this has not stopped me from placing this in the 4 games which stay in a constant purgatory of battle for my top place. The fantastic soundtrack, charismatic antagonist, beautiful setting, standout colour palette and story which I personally enjoy have all cultivated to result in me replaying through the game seventeen times. Furthermore, but from a subjective point, the introduction of the Royal guard assisted greatly in giving me the ability to feel the power that Pagan held. This subsequently made me feel the strength of my opponents and fear them more than before. It saddens me that this game was overshadowed by far cry 3, for legitimate reasons, but I would have wished that this game got the same reception that I gave it. Furthermore, the use of the Bombay Royale in most of the cinematic moments truly made me feel the world in a more light hearted sense. With every inclusion of their outstanding pieces, such as the melancholy 'River' which mirrors the story perfectly. Heck, this game influenced me to take geopolitics as a subject. I should hope that Pagan returns in later iterations and not Vaas. As much as many like Vaas, I feel like I am one in a few who personally loathe his character. Far too many times have we seen the one trick pony of an insane character who shouts to get his point across. Perhaps I am missing something but Hoyt felt more like a sustainable villain to me. Please realise that this is my opinion and if you like Vaas and hate far cry 4, that's great. That's the beauty of modern society. Plus, if anyone has found a worthy pair of shoes to rival Min's, do tell. I need a good pair of red crocodile shoes to match my blue ones. Sorry for the long post, but this is one of my first times commenting on RUclips and social media altogether.
Sarah Frost I personally feel like Vaas was much more of a quotable character (as in he has a bunch of great quotes), but in general I was not a huge fan per se. He was lacking a bit of depth in my opinion.
your long post is great! I love it when other people replay a game 17 times so I don't have to. Hell I haven't even played more than 0.3% of this game and i still find your review great. It's nice to see people get passionate and emphatic in a very specific wayabout the thing that they love (and i totally believe you could have gone deeper!) . Thanks for being that guy for Farcry 4 :)
Fun fact it was a scrapped idea :( don’t get me wrong I enjoy valley of the yetis a lot and it’s fun but I would’ve preferred a 10 hour + experience with a destroy the golden path dlc
I played the intro of this game once like 6 years ago, and distinctly remember Paga saying over the radio that he was going to have his head chef executed for doing a crappy job on the crab rangoon. Where is that radio sequence?!
IMO Pagan was just as bad as Amita and Sabal. I hear all the time people saying Pagan was the "good guy" out of the 3 because he never lied to Ajay. While that is true, he still used Ajay and played him like the other 2. In the secret ending after you lay your mother's urn with Lakshamana's, he says "we can finally shoot some goddamn guns". And when you play the game after the Sleeping Saints mission, Pagan calls you on the radio and says "when you got to Kyrat I thought we'd be cleaning house together", insuting he intended to recruit Ajay to shoot terrorists. He too intended to use Ajay for his own personal gain by emotionally black mailing him with telling him how terrible his father Mohan was. Thus, turning him against the Golden Path. Poor Ajay was screwed at every angle.
Pagan was always honest about who he was even to Ajay while back then his father was out there prepping child soldiers and using his own wife to spy on Pagan who wasn’t crazy until his daughter died

If there was ever a game that needed, "Side with the Antagonist" dlc, then this was it. Either that or New Game Plus - taking back Kyrat with the help of Pagan.
The dlc should have been Ajay and Pagan going on a rampage, killing the golden path.
He is so good character. In my opinion he is the best character and antagonist from Far Cry. Vaas is so awesome but Pagan is my master. I want join to Royal Army.
Vaas is a good villan but Pagan is actually likable

Anything for daddy pagan.
I love the dialogue where Pagan mentions some guy with a fake ID calling himself "Fat Bear" in chinese (Fei Xiong) smuggling himself into Disneyland
And the one where he says he slams rails of coke
The fat bear story is actually a real story about kim jong un's brother.
That really happened by the way. Sort of.
Kim jong il brought kim jong un to disneyland with a fake passpor and Kim jong un's older brother was spotted at several Eric clapton's concerts. He was once caught in china by border guards because his ID was using "fat bear" as the legal name

The way he says "Hello, did we enjoy our time with the C.I.A" makes him such a gem
He's such an attractive character!
"And I got blood on my fucking shoes!" LMAO Pagan Min is one of the best videogame villains there has ever been
The bit at 14:14 just makes me so sad for Pagan. I dunno why, it's just...sad.
Yes
Great dialogue
11:10 Cracks me up every time I hear it. "Zippered Meat Pockets....Perfect!"
44:13

Pagan had always became surrogate father figure after Ajay arrived at Kyrat.
What about that one line over the radio where he talks about Amita and Sabal and then is like "They're afraid of you, Ajay. And they damn well should be."
I find myself very curious as to what that suit that pagan had tailored up for Ajay would look like..
before you take the first outpost he will contact you after amita and say ajay, ajay... aaaajay.... awsome! ohh just making sure you been listening
Had to look this up because the audio of this speech didn't play in my game, It was kind of funny everyone sitting there staring at a silent tv.
So who was lighting all those candles at the table and the shrine at the end of the game? Gary was slacking on the job.
I miss Pagan Min, him nad Handsome Jack would have so much fun chatting up their enemies
34:20 is too good.

why there's cantonese
Because technically it's not Cantonese, it's just traditionally written Chinese. "Cantonese" has different grammar
Guy Fawkes no i mean when the girl complain that she felt hot outside the cave (I understand cantonese)
