I like how there's a little character development for Miss July throughout the game. She starts off mostly neutral-sounding, gradually becomes more flippant and annoyed with Sarge, and ultimately ends up going against orders to unofficially help Preston save the squad. I also like how Preston develops in that, at the point where he works with Miss July to save the others, he takes a little more initiative and there's even a very slight struggle of assertion with Sarge when they both answer Miss July (this is also seeded when he butts in to say how Sweetwater's missing earlier, Sarge tells her to disregard that, and Preston says, "Sorry, sir," to which Sarge gives him this stern look). It seemed like Preston was kind of coming out of his shell and growing from his introverted self, even showing some signs of potential leadership. It would've been nice to see the conclusion to this in a third Bad Company, but even in the second one, the character arcs are greatly watered down and the main focus seemed to be on the multiplayer instead (though there were still some great moments here and there).
@@kyransawhill6650 I feel like this arc gets a small pay off at the end, when Preston steps in with Sarge to announce the area is secured so they don't get caught for trying to run off with Gold. It plays on his slowly developing leadership in the team and also how while the squad has its charm, he's getting a little fed up with them still treating him as "the new guy".
@@AntanovOCEFGC Also, the very ending. The whole reason they even got to run off with the Gold is because Preston actually stopped Sweetwater from putting his foot in his mouth as per usual, and took initiative instead, giving Redford a chance to use his experience to do the talking. Marlowe's more Professional Demeanor when compared to the others (Redford's detachment to the whole thing, Sweetwater running his mouth off and Haggard being Haggard) allowed him to fool the Trooper into thinking the B-Company remnants were actually part of the special taskforce and allowed them to get into the last vehicle. You can also kind of catch Preston roll his eyes as he butts in on Sweetwater and takes initiative, and I cannot really blame him. Much of the reason B-Company got into trouble was due to four things, the first being Sweetwater running his mouth at the worst time, the second being Haggard being his usual reckless self, the third being Redford barely doing anything to really reel in his squad, and the fourth was due to Preston not really taking initiative when either of them basically made a bad situation even worse... i.e, Sweetwater letting Haggard refuel the Hind-D and because Haggard couldn't read Russian, he ended up pouring fuel into the Cooling Unit and stalled the Engine... Which occurred during a _Firefight._ ...Yeah, you can see why Preston was just tired at the end.

Yeah. Battlefield 3's campaign may not have been similar to Bad Company campaign, but at least it still portrayed the regular grunts getting into shit thats way above their pay-grade. Then Battlefield 4's campaign rolled in and DICE, for some reason, embraced the COD aspect of special ops being the main characters. Plus the character's in BF4 were unlikable.
Well, one of the reasons the Franchise did not continue was because Bad Company 2 took away the attributes that made them so memorable... And for some reason, didn't even bring up the Gold.
I didn’t understand a single thing until I read the Wiki article and holy fuck was I shocked when I saw how detailed the story is. They should give us a Bad Company 3 where they help out with the invasion in Alaska.

With the Legionnaires defeated, the US didn't have to adopt a policy deniability for the "new government" that they predicted to rise. Preston and squad were moved into Delta and technically do not exist. Bad Company 2 does make it apparent that the characters are eager to retire and celebrate.
