    Think you should put your hand up for the chancellor's job given your clear grasp of fiscal policy. In your spare time you could wallpaper the PM's flat at #10...Nice job Michael thanks

    As always, BRILLIANT!
    Working in HO I often need to add some hint of interior detail and am doubly encouraged by your excellent entry foyer
    Thank you

    That entrance looks suspiciously like the dismal b&b my parents used to take me. Needs a dinner bell on the table! I’ve seen O gauge layouts with less detail. Stunning.

      N gauge dinner bell made from a folded piece of paper perhaps!!?

    A warm white micro LED (36 cents each for a pack of 25) would add a nice illumination to the lobby!

    • @Chandwell
      @Chandwell  Год назад

      You are right - it would look great. I have some LEDs in the drawer but I was finding lighting buildings tedious and I realised I don’t actually enjoy the electrical side of building. I’ve therefore decided to leave this street unlit.

    Fantastic as usual. For those that do not model in N Gauge, it's difficult to realise just how tiny this all is and what an achievement your town scene is, the camera does it no justice. Keep it up, this for me is one of those rare channels on RUclips that you just can't wait for the next instalment. I have 200 plus white plastic N Gauge people and cows etc to paint. Not looking forward to it, but very inspired by your work.

    Loving that flock wallpaper and stairs. I’m getting the impression that the owners know the place has gone way past it’s best but are trying desperately to cling onto some semblance of being a high brow hotel. Great addition.

    "That looks about right", says Michael, then works with mullions 1/2 mm wide!!
    Not only looks right, it looks fantastic. Top quality, and you only need a seedy receptionist to complete the look.
    This is compulsive viewing, even for non railway modellers like myself.
    Great stuff, Sir.

    I like to have doors ajar where I can too, but I usually position someone coming in or out so you can't see the complete lack of interior! ;-) Saves me looking for period correct hideous wallpaper.

    That's a lot of work, but as always, the results are spectacular! And with finding out (too late) that you put the wallpaper on upside down -- I feel your pain. However...I've been scratch-building a couple of HO-scale haunted Victorian-era house dioramas, and the torn wallpaper is EXACTLY the type of effect I've been trying to go for. I also shrank down several of those creepy Victorian-era type portraits and put them on the walls, where you could see them through the windows...along with some unidentified entities staring out the windows. The first haunted house took about 35 hours over twelve days, and I'm still working on the second, which is thankfully a lot smaller and less involved.

    If the hotel is open, have you thought about lighting the interior, at least at the entrance?

    • @Chandwell
      @Chandwell  Год назад +1

      I did wonder about lighting it like I did the Weir and station buildings but I’ve decided not to light this building. The street will have 20 or so properties on it and I don’t enjoy wiring up lighting very much, so I’m leaving it in darkness. 🤔😲
