    You should put notches into those vertical 2x4 pieces that way the skinnier horizontal pieces can go further into the wall and also that would make the shelves adjustable!

  • @DankerTVTimeCapsule
    @DankerTVTimeCapsule Год назад +1

    What my shelving idea would be is that on every wood slab used as the framing to have notches created with a screw head then with the platform planks drill holes onto the ends then whenever you needed adjustments you can simply take it off and adjust to that new height.

      I would have just used those 1x4 and cut them to fit between the verticals. Same amount of wood, a little more work but hardware but a better shelf.

    Should’ve just paid a cabinet person to build adjustable shelves or purchased prebuilt adjustable shelves and mounted them to the wall.
    Cost more, but in the long run would’ve given you more flexibility

  • @rHinosYth

    Im confused as to why you didnt add a small strip of wood on the actual wall to give you more support, as far as for the cartridges not being able to fall. Maybe I missed it, but I dont get why someone wouldnt take the time to add those??
    But overall, great idea.

  • @Throwback-Gamer
    @Throwback-Gamer Год назад +14

    If I could add a suggestion. you should look into 3D printed tiered shelves especially for GBA/GB/GBC or even N64. Otherwise I think it's a great idea for your current plan.

  • @juk7532
    @juk7532 Год назад +1

    it would be cool to use tiered shelves for the GBA or if you can handle the power tools, make an indent in the wood to hold the GBA cartages at different heights.

    I've seen these types of shelves used for people with movie collections. Personally, I'm not a fan of them. For anything sitting on the shelf long term, like a collection, I don't think I would use this. For what it's being used for here, it's probably fine.

    optimization is not always efficient, time equals money count your time against your cost, is moving a product for better visability more important then just categorizing in and out of a tub, depends on product mass and time dependency... Would you kick a ball to the right with no one guarding the goal no you would just go straight in... But if you add 2 more players you kinda have to pivot maybe even make plays you never thought off before.

    Love the idea! Great work :D
    Would love to resell as well, tried with some high value Gamecube stuff and it quite worked. But we don't have many game-stores here except big chains. Finding used games for a good price is like searching for the holy grail here. On top PAL-games don't sell for as much.
    So instead of doing as Resell-business myself, I just watch your videos and feel satisfaction :D

  • @doctorchilax4764
    @doctorchilax4764 Год назад

    First love the concept of the shelfs for NES, and DVD sized cases looks like you have the space worked out well and are able to handle the product fairly well.
    Thoughts on improvement:
    1) the back corner of the DVD/NES wall will be mostly inaccessible when the cartridge shelves are full. Maybe use it as storage for slow moving inventory or a WhatNot auction storage location.
    2 )if these shelves are going to be used to hold the inventory while listed on Amazon. (not just a Spanky work pile of what needs to be cleaned/tested), A tiered shelving system for the N64/GB/GBA/SNES games would be helpful. It might appear to take up more space but you will not have to pick up and sift through the carts before finding the one you need.
    I enjoy all of the videos on Pesale and Resale and am interested to hear more about how these shelves are working for you
