Very nice ! Work, work, work - Bam ... 🌧 perfect timing. And the cuteness of big burly Andrew with his little dog for a cement print in front of all those workers. lol. Good job sir.
Good afternoon Andrew. The story about the paw print in the concrete is absolutely hilarious. You'll always look back at that and smile and be glad you listened to your wife. Concrete guys did a nice job. Sincerely Ed from Chicago
Love the house build videos!!!! That was awesome with the hook-up for the vapor barrier and wire!!!! Porch looks awesome!!!! The signature in the concrete is awesome!!!! Can't wait until the next video!!!!!
What a great way to welcome in spring!! A new beginning! You're going to love that porch! I have my doggie's paw print, and date on my patio. I'm so glad I did it. He's in doggie heaven now, but was an important part of the household while he was here. God bless.
All those "big, burly" guys were envious they didn't think to do that with their fur babies 🤗 looks fantastic, can't wait for y'all to get your hands on it!
This looks fabulous. I am so excited for you. I cannot wait to see the end results of your and Tiffany's beautiful home. I haven't been on in a few weeks and have missed some of the progress, so will have to go back and watch. Saw the removal of the bushes under that gorgeous tree. Looks fabulous now.
The pump cement trucks are neat to watch. The rain wasn’t fun to watch because we had a lot of rain this past Wednesday which flooded a lot of our area.
Well Andrew it looks like you had a hard start with the concert, but now you got it going and it looks great. So it's really coming together. Love the video
OMGosh, that is one heck of a large porch. I do hope it will be screened in. The family and friends gathering will be awesome. I am so excited to be on this journey with you guys. YAY....
We went back and forth on screening the porch for a while. Ultimately we've decided to not screen it in, even though it's buggy Florida. We feel the screen blocks the view and the breeze. We can always screen it in later if we need to
Man that concrete looks real nice. Man you had a lot of truck pour concrete there. I hope they didn't damage you yard too bad. I think that is awesome that you got your names initials & the dog footprint in the concrete. I know that is special in the family. I like that. I think that is awesome.
I remember building my shop, it just didn't feel real until that slab went down...and instantly you feel like you're looking at your building. It's really just a mental thing but the slab puts your mind into go time..You have to be exited now.
Definitely enjoying the house build and hearing your well thought out details. Just recently started following you (Arms Family), can't wait to see the videos of actual build🏚
This is so exciting to see it finally get started. Awesome guys. Can’t wait to see it get built. Take care and looking for the next update. Cold in Vermont with snow still on the ground and Mud season started.
I'm very glad your concrete pour went well. I did concrete myself for awhile and well know the challenges that come with it. Anyway, loved the video. Thanks for sharing. Take care and God Bless.
I'm actually going to price that this week, but honestly I have all the tools and experience with wood. It feels like it would be easier to work with wood.
The dance floor has been poured!!! Mother Nature has started the nasty weather early this year. Have you been able to get electricity run to the shelter yet?
Not yet, that's on this week's agenda. I didn't do any shelter work while the crew was in the background and music was playing. I'm finally alone this week.
You mentioned in another video that you used a "Tankless Water heater". Did you notice that it was hard to keep water temps the same when switching between shower head and hand wand? Notice any other anomalies? We have an older one in a bunkhouse and have this water temp issue in the shower. Just wandering.... Thanks man! (Concrete looks awesome!)
Never had a hand wand, just a shower head. I always found the temps consistent after the few initial seconds it takes to get you hot water. The only issue I found was if you like a Luke warm shower (I do). If you barely had any hot water flow, it could turn off on you. Our had adjustments for temperature, but not flow.
I live in the Rockies and thought of doing radiant heat. Did you ever think of the radiant heat or is it just not necessary as it is usually warm in Florida?
I'm in Ohio, not in a big termite area and I've never heard of having the dirt sprayed before putting a vapor barrier down. Do you know what they use? Maybe the same stuff they pump into the ground if anyone around here has an issue?
It started with covid shutting some of the mills down last year. I don't know what the excuse is anymore. Sadly everyone is telling me it's going up more
@@TKCL I wonder if the artic storm added to it? Seems like everything stopped for a few weeks. We order pillows from My Pillow and it took over 4 weeks to get here. They were stuck in one of the FedEx wharehouses.
Probably not, all of our lumber comes out of Florida and Georgia (our yellow pine does) we were not affected by the storm. Hurricane Michael destroyed millions of acres of saw timber too, I forgot that also helped snowball this problem.
Thank you so much. You guys rock! I hope you channel flourishes. Best and most descriptive videos I’ve seen. Thank you for sharing. I know you place the decking on the roof, instead of just metal, but if you spray foamed and the metal did leak, wouldn’t it still be water resisted. Just wondering if it is worth the extra cost for me. You guys still did very awesome on the budget though. You def have my subscription.
No it wouldn't because we did open cell foam, that's the most common in the humid south. Either way, closed cell or open cell, a leak is a leak. Problem with closed cell is the leak travels over the hard foam and it's very difficult to locate its origin. I strongly recommend spending the money and putting plywood on the roof. It gives ALL screws something to bite into and give a proper seal to the screws rubber washer. It allows the foam to bond to the wood and NOT the metal. This not only doesn't void the metal warranty, but allows you to easily change the metal decades down the road when it's time. What about storm or hail damage? You might need to replace the roofing metal sooner. Lastly decking the roof with plywood just makes an overall stronger roof.
You think you got your man card snipped by doing a dog print in concrete? You just wait until you enjoy tea parties with your daughter or daughters. Good luck on your hunt for reasonable prices on supplies.
Nice setup. I didn't do the pole barn house "wife" but i wanted to due to the amount of coverage i could have compared to what i have with this metal building. We did a metal ranch style building with 10 inch slab which cost around $50k turnkey. I was planning to do around $6k cash transactions monthly to get the house framed and finished and figured it would take about a year to complete. Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll that wasn't fast enough for the wife sooooooooooooooooo $200k later we were in our home within 5 months. KILL ME NOW
Florida Liquid Sunshine!! Great videos!!
Been getting a lot of it!
Very nice ! Work, work, work - Bam ... 🌧 perfect timing. And the cuteness of big burly Andrew with his little dog for a cement print in front of all those workers. lol. Good job sir.
Ugh don't remind me lol
Always so fun to autograph and date your concrete👍👍👍❤ looking great!!!!!👍
This is the first time for me! Our last house was my childhood home and was built before I was born.
Good afternoon Andrew.
The story about the paw print in the concrete is absolutely hilarious. You'll always look back at that and smile and be glad you listened to your wife.
Concrete guys did a nice job.

Ed from Chicago

It will definitely change once walls and rooms eat the open space up.

AWESOME! Absolutely Bullet needed to leave his mark too! Love it!
😊
Congratulations on getting the slab poured. Thats a big big mile stone just having that done..
Yes it is! Thanks
All those "big, burly" guys were envious they didn't think to do that with their fur babies 🤗 looks fantastic, can't wait for y'all to get your hands on it!
Maybe that was it! 😁
Loving the house build. Glad you put the dogs paw print in the cement
Thank you for watching
The guys we’re laughing because they know when the boss wants something done it get done! Slab job looks great. Moving along with the build.
Lol, it was all in good fun. Happy wife, happy life!

Yes they did! That porch is definitely the center piece.
Beautiful job done on the concrete. Looking great. Progress is always good
Thank you! We love the way it looks
pole barn house looking good. right on young people.
Thank you
The pump cement trucks are neat to watch. The rain wasn’t fun to watch because we had a lot of rain this past Wednesday which flooded a lot of our area.

What a change. It is looking great.
A big change! We love it
My dearest wish has always been to have huge porches. You are going to have the perfect house. I look forward to following you as you build your home.
Thank you! Porches was both of our number one desire.
What a difference a day makes. Things are really taking shape. So happy for both of you. See you in the live Q&A tomorrow.
Yes this was a big step! See you tomorrow
Great to see the progress. Looking good.
Thank you
It's looking good! That porch looks enormous now that the floors down.
Yes it does, the concrete really changed the view!
Awesome covered porch. Really neat design with the different pitch too
Thanks

Yeah the yard is a mess! Been working on it to get it back to at least being able to be mowed. That's how it goes
The cement looks great
Thank you, we love it
Awesome build… thanks for sharing.

Great video, congratulations 👏 on cement pour! I am excited to watch the build.
Thank you
Looking great . That porch is gonna be amazing . Looking forward to watching the rest of the build . God bless
Thank you for watching, God bless
The hard parts are pretty much done , looking good to , keep em coming, god bless
Thank you, the hard part is writing these checks lol
Nice work, over one big hurdle, work usually fly’s once the concrete is in! 👍🏼🇱🇷
Thank you, we are excited!
Looks great guys! That porch is huge lol, I love it! See if there's any saw mills around your area, maybe they at least have the lumber. Good luck.
I'll check, but I'm going to be picky about having good kiln dried wood. That might be an issue at a lot of these smaller mills.
New to your channel. You are a breath of fresh air. look forward to watching your channel grow.
Thank you for the support
Another great video
Thank you!

Definitely enjoying the house build and hearing your well thought out details. Just recently started following you (Arms Family), can't wait to see the videos of actual build🏚
Thank you for watching!
Looking good. On the lumber you may have to wait for a little while. I know that is going to be hard. But it will be worth it. Hugs from Oklahoma
Definitely an option

Nice progress
Thank you
That sucks about lumber prices, we are in the same boat up here in Alberta, things are just nuts. The house is looking fantastic by the way.
It has to drop at some point
looks nice been there with kids feet dogs turtle and more , its a got to do thing john
Turtle? That's a first for me! This is the first home I've ever been able to do that to and call my own.
Andrew that porch is bigger than my old backyard in Nor Cal. That's going to be nice. : )
Lol, dang! Hope you have a bit more room to stretch out now.
Lumber prices are pure price gouging right now. Praying some good deals come your way.
Thank you so much, we need something to change.
Never install fresh water lines (Hot/cold) in a exterior wall. Cold weather will freeze the water lines and flood your house.
This is Florida, no freezing like that occurs. That's why you see things built a little different down here
Looks great 👍. Why not look into using steel for the framing instead of wood. Might be more cost effective? Just a thought. Keep the vids coming.
I'm actually going to price that this week, but honestly I have all the tools and experience with wood. It feels like it would be easier to work with wood.
This is a major step. Now you can take a big breath. Once the metal is on will be the next big step.
Getting there! Now to find lumber, wasn't expecting this much of an issue.
@@TKCL Yea, Just went to pick up 1 sheet of 1/4 " plywood and nearly passed out to see the pricing on wood. Single sheet $42.00 ...about pooped
Yep! And I just bought 110 sheets for the roof 😳
Those cups are called Hats” for the rebar”
Sounds like it’s time to get a sawmill and find out what it would take to get certified for the building material stamps ;)
Lol not just yet!
The Kelley's Country Life lol yeah now, then you make your own wood and save enough on the house to pay for it. So it's free! ;)
Well at least y'all is making progress on your house and pole barn it's looking good buddy text me back buddy God bless you and Tiffany
Thank you! God bless
Well I guess those floor plans are finalized
Been finalized since December! No going back now
Any plans on a underground storm shelter.
Nope, in Florida we have a very high water table. Anything underground here would be wet.

I live in the Rockies and thought of doing radiant heat. Did you ever think of the radiant heat or is it just not necessary as it is usually warm in Florida?
Not common here at all. We need to cool more than anything. Winter is welcome where we don't run much equipment.
Very Nice!!! What company did your concrete? Could you please share the information? Thanks!!
Flat Top Concrete out of Tallahassee FL. I can't find his card for the business telephone number, I'd see if google will bring it up.
If worse comes to worse you could always Park the trailer in the new house it already has plumbing and everything 😆😆
Right lol! 😁
I FINALLY set up a po box. While we absolutely don't expect things, I know you've been asking for a address.
6244 East Caps
Po box 22
Lamont FL 32336
Just about everyone I know who’s building right now has gotten themselves a sawmill and is cutting their own lumber. It’s outrageous right now...
If it wasn't for needing it kiln dried and quickly, I'd be all over it
I'm in Ohio, not in a big termite area and I've never heard of having the dirt sprayed before putting a vapor barrier down. Do you know what they use? Maybe the same stuff they pump into the ground if anyone around here has an issue?
I couldn't read the ticket writing, but Bifen is a very popular choice around here
Is there any other building material you can use besides wood ?
Steel beams, but I've got the tools and knowledge for wood. I want to stick with it
Why has lumber gone up so high in price? Do you think it will come down anytime soon?
It started with covid shutting some of the mills down last year. I don't know what the excuse is anymore. Sadly everyone is telling me it's going up more

Yes that concern is always there. We address it in a few different ways. I'll explain in some upcoming videos.
@@TKCL thank you. Love the channel by the way.
Look for an Amish saw mill for your lumber. Price metal for walls,or post pone for a while
.
Those are options that are on the table

We saved for about 10 years, then remodeled and sold our last home to pay cash for this one. Sorry I can't help you there.
