I just love how this musical is so realistic. I mean, it shows how life isn't a fairytale. It isn't just a sugar-coated Disney movie and everyone lives happily ever after. Sometimes bad things happen and you sometimes lose people. But it also says that you can recover and get yourself through it. Also, as stated in the tear-jerking finale of the show, "wishes come true, not free." You may not always get what you want in life, but that doesn't mean you should give up. That's why I love this musical.
About Into the Woods 18 years ago my wife and I were in a little play called Into the Woods. I played the wolf and Rapunzel's prince. My wife was the lighting designer and the voice of the giants wife. While we were in production she got pregnant and we had a wonderful little girl who we considered a product of the woods. She was born 2 days before Christmas. Our daughter just turned 18 and is beginning her own adventure. She gave us $30 dollars from her own pocket and told us to go out on New Years eve. I hadn't even thought about seeing Into the Woods and as it turns out the timing of it all really caught me off guard because I looked at the movie theater website to look for something to go and see, low and behold the first movie I came across was, you guessed it, Into the Woods. So it hit me very emotionally all of a sudden I was crying. Things came around full circle with Into the Woods as the beginning and ending of a story of the 18 years of our daughters life.
This beautiful free spirited amazing women surprises me every time. What a film. Awe inspiring. Made purely from the dedication and talent of Meryl and the cast. It amazes me that in a time like this, in a world that seems to be consumed by destruction, their voices, skills and stories can take as on an adventure. And even momentarily give us hope and happiness.
I wish she were as facile and perfect a singer as, say, Bernadette Peters or the redoubtable Audra McDonald, but her singing is still quite good and she does bring all that wonderful Meryl Streepiness to the role!
AHHHHHHH like literally one of my favorite interviews shes done!!!!!!!!!! like just the way she tals about 9/11 ah it breaks my heart but idk I just really love this interview this is the thing I need after the hell of a week ive had. meryl just makes me happy you know?

What a beautiful story she tells about her daughter - can't help but notice that the interviewer could not stop and really embrace the story at all.
Interviewers aren’t always given time to do that. He may have only had ten minutes per cast member.

I'm not getting bored, even if I'll stay all day to listen her, she's amazing!

"Can you talk about that?"
Ridiculous movie and it was all I could do to not walk out on it. I cannot believe Ms. Streep to be in something like this.
I've never known anything Sondheim to be ridiculous, and "Into the Woods" is one of his best. He's the greatest creator in musical theatre history.
@@uckbee Garbage.
