    Great sensible set up. My top tip is to use a DC-DC convert to boost 12V to 24V and use this to charge the power bank while driving. It will charge faster.

    Leuk dat jullie zo ver zijn met de voorbereidingen. Ik tip die ik jullie wil geven als mede-land rover reiziger: zie dat alles goed vastzit binnen de auto. Dus zie dat Lewie, de stoelen, de draagbare batterij, ... allemaal goed vastzitten. Als je gaat offroaden of je moet eens een noodstop doen, wil je dit niet in je nek krijgen want dat overleef je niet.
    Verder prachtige defender, ik kijk al uit naar leuke yt filmpjes.

    Have you found that having a dog doesn't restrict you much? Are there ever places you can't go because he is with you? Even due to temperatures and not being able to leave him alone in the truck.... I want to bring a dog and while some things will be limited, it seems it is worth it to have a dog with us !!

    • @lewieandtherover
      @lewieandtherover  8 месяцев назад +1

      Ahh yes it is so worth it!! He is the perfect travel companion 🥹 In our experience we never felt restricted, we even were surprised on a couple of occasions for example restaurant staff bringing him bowls of water or even meat leftovers 😄 And yes there are limitations for example busy cities or museums etc. but we love being out in nature and hiking so we don't mind that really. And when we are somewhere he can't come (e.g. in supermarkets) one of us stays with him. So exciting!! enjoy the preparations 🤗

    I am utterly enthralled by witnessing your triumph. I once embarked on a similar venture, but my journey took a vastly different turn. I invested in various tools, including a welding machine, and when I attempted to weld my front bumper, I inadvertently fused it to the wheels. In that moment, it became painfully clear that my expertise was lacking.
    I aspired to craft a rooftop tent, so I decided to detach the roof, a relatively straightforward task with a Defender. However, upon procuring the tent fabric, all I encountered was persistent leakage. The side of the vehicle even detached, despite my attempts to secure it with a handful of screws. Alas, my efforts were in vain.
    Just as I thought I was finished, I attempted to start the car, only to find the cabin flooded with diesel. I had accidentally connected the ignition to the diesel pump, which was then linked to my interior filter. An unfortunate electric spark ignited the car, leaving it engulfed in flames.
    Misfortune seemed to shadow my every move. It appears, much like Patrick, one must possess a considerable technical acumen to undertake such a feat. Patrick's mastery in automotive craftsmanship is undeniably evident, resulting in the creation of this magnificent vehicle. I hold an immense admiration for his skills.
    Furthermore, his proficiency in filmmaking is a testament to his versatility. I surmise he enjoys a vast circle of friends, a privilege I, unfortunately, do not share. Patrick, would you ever consider lending me a helping hand? Perhaps Ola could provide a musical backdrop to our endeavors. 😖😖

    Amazing!!! I just love your channel!!! Being in Canada I am jealous of the land rover (almost impossible to get here. And if you can find one they are CRAZY expensive) and of the beautiful land that you have relatively close to you.
    The truck build is epic. Can’t wait to follow the journey. Far and away one of the best channels for me on RUclips. My golden retriever Bailey and I watch every video. She even barks at Lewie sometimes on the TV
    Safe travels and can’t wait for more videos.

    That was a nice tour of the Defender, i was wondering why you choose for the 90 instead of a 110, space wise. You allready told a few offroad bennefits between the 90 and 110, but i can imagine that if you take a long roadtrip, that some space could be welcome to. I thought lead lighting was banned these days lol only joking - love the video! That’s my dream mini camper, the defender 90! I’d have a pop up roof tent for me and the Mrs, bench seating down one side and kitchenette down other side with seating folding up to connect to kitchenette top to form a small bed for the kids - dog will sleep under the bed, we have a fox red Labrador! No serious expedition stuff like you guys, just pottering about in England - would love to go proper wild camping in Scotland - it’s not allowed in England or Wales, sadly... Everyone does the defender 110 but as you say the 90 is better for off-road and better for driving through rivers... we’d be spending most of our time mucking about by the river I hope! It’d be such a cute little camper, get a fridge, solar panels - just a weekend type thing! Great inspiration, thanks! 😊🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

    Lovely 90, looks really fantastic, working on my 110 on a similar way, had 2 90ies and now back to the 110 because of space. I am also using 285 and wheelspacers and as you said no noise diff compared to the 265. Any issues with the tuning? I have mine tuned to about 160hp and 400nm and it's the best running Defender I ever had ( had 5 yet ) I am also traveling with a dog and really like your setup, well done on that limited space 💪👍

    Great videos and an interesting build too. I’ve read your comments as to why you went for a 90 and we too like the smaller size but hesitate knowing you have to have a roof tent instead of sleeping inside. Do you ever feel there are times you wished you were inside?
