Thank you! I just figured out I lost 1 cylinder from a bad ignition coil. I was surprised at how smooth the engine ran on 1 cylinder, although the top speed seemed lower and was much quieter!
Super professional !!! Videos show diagnostics and troubleshooting on a commercial level. Even though I I rarely use them anymore because of seat of the pants experience. Your viewers might want to see a leak down test or a compression test. I hope your channel really takes off.
I appreciate that! Thanks for your advice! Many times we forget some viewers may actually have the correct diagnostic tools available!! Will be doing the followup may show compression test before breakdown! Thanks for watching!
I got this mower specifically to be able to drive it through a 36 inch door ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend or gate It is a little tight with the grass deflector installed but has more clearance with the deflector replaced by the recycler/mulcher. This model appears to be popular and a little harder to find for that reason. I can't judge the dependability as I have only mowed the yard twice but everything else on the mower is very nice and working fine so far. I added options for the run hour timer, arm backrests, recycler/mulcher, towing bracket, deck lift assist and cover.
Thanks......gives me something to go on....2010 Toro Z 500 that started losing power and dying when turning up a hill to the right....I figure it must be something to do with fuel pump or filters....the mower has two gas tanks, so it is not due to gravity issues...runs fine on flat ground but weird that it only does it turning right up hill.
I had same problem on my zero turn It was my hydro gear slipping going uphill when hot, outside temp was 96 and problem got better if I let it cool for a couple minutes, I haven't fixed it yet as I'm trying to nurse it till grass slowes down Sorry I missed that you said it was dying also, oh well mabey someone is having same problem lol
@@IndRepair Thanks for suggestion, I gave the fuel lines a good lookover....grommet at tank looks good and has a metal connection to fuel line....I found slightly loose carburetor retainer bolts and tightened them and cleaned the area....I let it run and checked for leaks. I really thought that might have something to do with it, but after taking it to the pond bank and mowing, it has the same symptom...starts to die when turning uphill on pond bank to the right. I have mowed that area for years without this happening. Turning to the left uphill will not cause the problem...starts ok and runs ok on flat or slightly inclined areas just fine....scratching my head....I guess I will drain the tank and check inside to make sure things are not clogged there, but makes no sense to me for it to be happening in only one direction
@@IndRepair I never found any type of break or other restriction that I could identify....has been cold here in East Tennessee the last few months so I have not done any mowing...just started the mower after a few of the worst cold snaps to keep it up. My cub cadet 0 turn with a carbureted Koehler engine leans out on side grades. I checked the carb cleaned it was clean inside anyway and the float looked good it has plenty of power except on the grade , when fuel tank is on the low side. If you can help thanks
I have a cub cadet 60inch 24 or 27hp can anytime I get into a little bit tall grass it want to bog bad I did air filters sharp blades ne oil good gas everything runs cleaned carbs still bogs. Any ideas and been taken to dealer and no Idea.
Normally carb issue, fuel issue, air leak, blown head gasket, etc, etc... really hard to tell without going down the line of troubleshooting. Has a compression test been done?
I have a cub cadet i1050. It doesnt have enough power to mow when you start cutting grass. I did the spark plug wire test and when i pulled the one wire off it quit immediately. However when i pulled the other side off, after i connected the other side back up of course, it kept running exactly the same as before i pulled the wire off. What does this mean?
The side you had connected when the mower died is not working. You have a bad coil, blown head gasket, bent push rod, stuck valve or something else going on with that side
I have see a bad brak3 on some of the hydros cause this issue. Make sure the brake is fully disengaged when that left lever is reversed, my bet is that the brake locks the hydro in when you have it pulled back so it is bogging the engine when the hydro tries to work against the brake
I had a governor replaced on mine and it keeps shutting off. It'll run and cut but fluctuates with power/gas..whatever it is. For like 5-10 seconds it'll Rev high but then drop down and eventually after 1-3 hours it'll die
@@IndRepair I have a Koehler command pro ecv749 on a scag cheetah it boggs down loses power when cutting grass it engages well with no problem but when I move from the driveway to the grass it just boggs down in about a few inches of grass ….. any ideas?
@@IndRepair yes I noticed it runs extremely high rpm’s at idle also seems the throttle lever is not working properly can’t control the idle function it’s always rived up
Nice video! I have a 2001 John Deere Ztrack M665 with 25hp v-twin. The problem with mine is as soon as I engage the drive it shuts off completely. Almost like a kill or safety switch. New fuel and firing both coils....do you have any suggestions or seen anything with the m665? Thanks in advance!
Soon as you pull in one of the arms it dies? If so usually the seat switch but could also be one of the arm switches, brake switch or PTO switch. Will need to test them all with a meter to find out for sure. Thanks for watching!
@Individualized Repair It "was" doing just that. As soon as I moved an arm it shut off now its runs for maybe 5 sec then its goes completely dead. I did notice the ignition switch now has a "sweet spot" to crank it over. If I turn all the way clockwise it does nothing, I have to back off a little and it hits that slots fires up then immediately dies. Any additional advice would greatly be appreciated. It has a very unusual carb on it...20yrs of working on small engines for myself & others and never seen one like it. The reason I mentioned carb is because I was thinking maybe it wasn't getting enough fuel? Idk at this point
@Individualized Repair thanks for your fast replies. Where can I find this ignition switch or the model #? There's not much online for the JD Ztrak M665. Thanks again.
I had one come in with using oil and very low power Plugs were oil wet , pulled air cover and no filter at all F Re ringed it and later found out a mad hird hand removed them when it went to using a lot of oil quite
