I met Bob outside Shepherd's Bush Empire on 20 Feb just 60 hours or so before he died. I got his autograph and had a chat - a charming unassuming man. Seeing Peter without Bob will never be the same again.
From Peter Frampton Facebook page : ''Bob Mayo was like my brother. He left us way too soon. To say I miss him is an understatement. I am so grateful to have spent all the time we did together. On this anniversary of his passing I thought you'd like to see this great shot again. RIP Bob'' Bob "Bobby" Mayo (August 25, 1951 - February 23, 2004)
@misslantana52 Agreed!! Still one of the best key solos ever on DYFLWD. My hands are on the dashboard playing along every time. "Bob Mayo on the keyboards Bob Mayo"
Bob played lead guitar in various bands since 1971. Some names; Sweet Release, Doc Holliday, Rat Race Choir. I was there for all of it. Best he ever played? ....at a Sweet Release rehearsal in Artie Sanmartino 's basement in 1971. Killer. Played a Gibson firebird.
Bob Mayo still a super star in my books and missed xxxxx❤❤❤❤❤

@GalaxyHorse Bob passed away in Switzerland in 2004 of a heart attack while on tour with Peter
Is this song called You Had to be there? If so, what album... I can't find it anywhere when I look up peter frampton mp3s
It's not on an album. I believe it was released as part of the "Almost Famous" movie soundtrack, in which Peter also played a small part :)
I really like this song but I can never find it. is it just something peter does live/ like a cover or is it from an actual album? does anyone know?
The song is called "You had to be there" and was written by Peter Frampton for the movie Almost Famous
@macthesilent What happened to Bob Mayo, did not know he had passed?...Always thought he was a real professional.

Why is Bob playing guitar instead of keyts

Bob played rhythm guitar with Foreigner on 4.
