Hi Ryan, congratulations on owning that beautiful machine, and thank you so much for making exactly the review i have wanted, as in, no updates or customisation, but a straight up switch it on and run it right out of the box. I've been considering an m18 for a while now and wanted someone to show what the temperatures were without messing with settings, so thank you again. There's a reason for that, many moons ago i bought my first desktop and after having it a couple of weeks, windows update said there were a few system updates available... i installed them and it promptly fried a couple of cards in my brand new expensive machine. I was able to send it back for repair, but since then, I've always been highly cautious of simply 'updating' system specs just for the sake of it, so you see, your review was perfect! It was good to see that running temps out of the box were very reasonable. If I get one, I'll run it as it's been designed. Intel throttles their i9 13th gen at 100 degrees centigrade and I'm sure i read somewhere that they cook at 105 degrees. I'm an engineer, trust me, BIGGER IS BETTER! The weight of the machine doesn't concern me in the slightest, it's a good thing. I love your idea of an even larger screen! I mean, you can get large screen tv's much cheaper now, so larger screen lappy's could be a thing. Just imagine 24-28 inch! What would your ideal design be? For one, I'd make it thicker and I'd lose the battery (just have a portable plug in to usb power supply for emergency power failure allowing save and shutdown) and use that space for larger fans (thin and light means fans have to run much faster resulting in more noise). A machine that's powerful (and cool) with excellent definition beast of a screen would be a winner in all the markets. Looking forward to more of your videos. Wishing you all the very best.
Yes, I totally agree. I prefer 18” for main reason of more space in the main block that allows better cooling. Also, I personally found that Intel’s Turbo Boost in many cases just useless in laptops and adds nothing on performance but good overheating, so I just disable it for good.😅

Firstly, the screen NV184QUM-N21 is compatible with the laptop, you can directly Install the screen on it; secondly, the key is to crack the bios; finally, you need to connect the edp signal from the master mxm pin. This will not damage the laptop. Of course, there are other details.@@RyanYu

Let's be honest - sitting in front of it in normal lighting conditions its more than sufficient. Most people do not run even a 300-nit laptop on full brightness unless outdoors. Are you gaming outdoors? You won't use the brightness levels new panels afford 95% of the time if ever, it's just too bright in front of you.
Is this the model with i9 13980 , rtx4090 and 400 hz screen? if so, have you seem the pixel show on screen due to a lower pixel on the 400mz model? hopfully i composed this question the right way.
Is the space bar dont have backlight? Because mine dont have also in alienfx space bar is not clickable and cannot modified. Is this for me only or also for you?
I find it remarkable that everyone was satisfied with 250-300 nits for years, and unless in a very bright space or outdoors, more than sufficient for normal conditions. You will not run any panel at 500 nits indoors for any length of time I assure you.

Maybe we can cooperate. If you are interested in this, you could be the first to show the great modification.@@RyanYu
@RyanYu, @@momojoka I'm interested in this as well. I just ordered the Alienware M18 R1 RTX 4080 with the FHD+ 1920x1200 laptop and it'd be cool if you could show us how you did your modification. Thanks!
6:15. How did u get there ?! I can’t find the link where I can change the keyboard coulors
Alienware command center
The king of dim screens
I'm trying to see the upgrade capabilities with the rtx4070 seeing that they say it's not as upgrad able as the 4080
you mean to upgrade the GPU?
@RyanYu no I was trying to see what I can and cannot upgrade. turns out I'm missing two SSD slots out of 4 . Not bad but ok 👌
My M15 was great while it lasted.. but it didn't last more than 3 years.. so, I won't be getting another one. My 7 year old MSi still runs Cyberpunk oh high settings though.
Great job, good review!
so not sorry but 300nits is why i didn’t buy it, ridiculous. $2-3K for an old product
Little bit dark.
Let's be honest - sitting in front of it in normal lighting conditions its more than sufficient. Most people do not run even a 300-nit laptop on full brightness unless outdoors. Are you gaming outdoors? You won't use the brightness levels new panels afford 95% of the time if ever, it's just too bright in front of you.
just say you're poor.
hi. is the palm rest rubber material?
Now to find a backpack that can carry this thing
:)
Is this the model with i9 13980 , rtx4090 and 400 hz screen?
if so, have you seem the pixel show on screen due to a lower pixel on the 400mz model? hopfully i composed this question the right way.
Nope I don’t see any pixels from the normal distance
@@RyanYu Thank you!
I am debating between M 18 r1 with 480 mz or an msi ge78hx but i hear a lot about the hight temps on the m18
Is the space bar dont have backlight? Because mine dont have also in alienfx space bar is not clickable and cannot modified. Is this for me only or also for you?
The space bar has no legends so there is no RGB effect.
HI Ryan,how are the speakers
Not bad.
I just ordered a 64 gb ram 4090 one
I’m sorry… did you say subwoofer?! WTH?! Sweet!
yep
Asus Scar 18 with 4090 for me
that's too powerful.
Yeah, I think this is next. To replace my 6year old Alienware 17 R3 w/ i7 6820HK & GTX980M. The old girl just can't keep up with the new games.
6 years is pretty old for a laptop for sure.
hi, how come this series doesn't have a mux switch?
Dell knows.
does the display look dark?
Little dark.
I find it remarkable that everyone was satisfied with 250-300 nits for years, and unless in a very bright space or outdoors, more than sufficient for normal conditions. You will not run any panel at 500 nits indoors for any length of time I assure you.
@@RyanYu make a video compare it with a 500 nits laptop
@@fractalelf7760thats because everyone watching these review videos are a bunch of parrots. They know nothing about computers so they take the reviewers con list and go around complaining about a gaming laptop you should be inside using anyways
So This Is
"The Beast"?
Oh yeah!
i bought this about 1yr ago--i got this mostly for the BIG SIZE--key pad buttons are bigger -love that i am a big guy at 6'4 so that was a diciding factor--it is heavy compare to smaller laptops --hahhahahaha even heavier then a bag of potatoes--but in my hands it is no big deal---bye the way the computer runs great
This thing is like a tank.
Whatb rtx is it ?

But can it play Minecraft and Roblox?
Sure.

Stumbled upon your video ! Nice review , but I would get a different gaming laptop this Alienware is overpriced
Little bit yes.

I have msi it can run any game on a 3050 I’m just gonna play ps3 games on this beast ad steam games hahaha
Nice
It’s so big lol
18” !Well we’ll well. If I had one of these I would rule the wooorld !! Hahahahaha!!!!
:)
Lmaooo $8500.00 what I joke.. that can’t be the retail price because if it is go with MSI .. better specs and $2k cheaper
hahaha.
大哥 来波抽奖庆祝下吧😁

AW king of laptops? I hope you are joking !

The king of laptop with a suck display..
