I've had one of the red accent ion plate versions for a few months now and I just keep going back to it over and over. I really wanted the stainless version but Casio UK were running a minus 35% offer which was hard to overlook. Most will throw their hands up in horror at the price but it's only when you get one in hand you begin to appreciate the quality of materials and fit and finish of the watch. The high tech movement is a development from the Oceanus line brought up to triple G standard with a couple of extras tagged on. The fact they are hand assembled at Yamagata also adds to the exclusivity. It's the complete antithesis of what a gshock should be as you won't want to beat it up and is more a showcase of what Casio can do.
Can you post a link regarding the finishing in the seiko factory? I would like to read further into it. I purchased this watch based on your video. Thank you
This is one reference where a GS factory visitor learned they do Casio cases as well as Seiko. www.watchuseek.com/threads/visiting-grand-seiko-case-manufacture.4488583/
@@chronoevolution1871 I'm reviewing the article and I don't see any mention of the mtg. I see mrg. How did you come to the conclusion of mtg being finished in the mentioned factory? Thanks for the feedback
@@kyledeatherage8426 MT-G and MR-G are both made in the Yamagata factory. I'm allergic to the resin straps on Casio watches, that's why i'm looking at their steel offerings. Always been a fan of g-shocks. It's funny that you mentioned the Grand Seiko brand, as they are my favourite watches (can't afford one though). I think this MT-G is a great offering by Casio, imported from Japan they're around 600 Euros now. Also their quartz movements are very very accurate (as are the Grand Seiko 9F quartz movements). I do hope i don't react to the resin inlays inside the MTG's steel band.
Great video mate ! I got mine two days ago. I have a question I left the watch in the balcony under direct light to charge the battery, it stayed there all day for 2 days but the battery is still not showing full. How long does it take to fully charge the battery ?
Just brought myself the black one with rubber strap. Very cool looking watch, but debating whether if i should by the metal bracelet…. Ebay sells them around 300 candian. Not cheap. The strap is either a bit too tight or too loose. But I don’t know if 300 + tax and shipping and possibly custom fees is a smart idea i
What is your opinion about the steel material on MTG? I saw alot of people who disapointed with their GMW B5000 series, verry easy to scratch even if compare with another steel watch (eg. Seiko or citizen). I wonder if MTG has the same steel material with GMW.
I haven't seen any scratches yet. I do not know if the steel itself is better quality, but i understand the metalwork and polishing is done at the Grand Seiko factory. That won't imbue any hardness, but it certainly makes it shine.
Casio isn’t being explicit about their stainless steel components, except for saying that the bezel is ion plated. This to me reads as the same ion plated steel as their g-shock digital squares, and so it will accumulate abrasions. That’s the trade-off for Casio, that you get bling bling but you’re dealing with the same troubled stuff as chrome-plated plastic; If you want it done well you have to pay much more. But for what it’s worth, there is no absolute scratch-free except for ceramic. But this series of watches look industrial enough that they should take some abuse.
Excellent question. Before owning - no. After owning, holding, and using, possible if not certain. The quality, finishing, and ease of wear is fantastic and that sold me.
Great video quality, thank you for showing the spectacular finish of this watch.

My Seiko Solar just packed in after 10 years. This is the one I am eyeing up. Thanks for the review.
It's a great watch
can't you replace the battery?
Nice review, the MTG, MRG and Oceanus lines are actually manufactured and hand assembled at Casio’s Yamagata Premium Production Line “PPL”
Okay boomer😊

I never had might get down that far TBH. I use and LED charger on my solars from time to time to top them off.
Nice and informative review! Hope to own one soon...

Vert, Very Tempting 👍 Would you have parted with your own money if you had to?

What does a wheel do located in the middle between 2 buttons on the right side?
Nice review. Great timepiece.
Thanks!
Can you order the rubber strap separately? I like the look of the MTG-B3000-1A but prefer the dial of this one
I'm not sure, but I imagine it is possible to order from Casio
Is the bracelet adjustable?
Yes - just like any pin-adjustable.
I want to gift myself this
Go for it. It's the season!
Do it
Very nice watch. Good concise review.
Thanks very much!
Gsh darnit this watch is growing on me
It's a nice one!
