@@tmoney99296 I take it you knew him, and saw thats what he was doing. You cant always assume. I am, as I said an animal lover, especially dogs, and I don't support the abuse of any animal. All breeders arent violent towards their animals. I wish people were just as paasionate about ensuring the babies in (humans) mother's wombs are protected as well

Pitbulls are hunting dogs not meant to be domesticated pets. Laws need to be implemented and enforced regarding securing dangerous animals. Too many people allow their dogs to roam freely throughout neighborhoods without any regard for the safety of others, including children, mail delivery persons, construction workers, et, al. Ironic that the dog sacrificing the owner/breeder brought attention to the dangerous situation of having 13 dogs corralled together in a backyard within city limits.

I don't think that all 13 dogs mauled that owner, but likely all will probably be destroyed to avoid any risks. Nobody has explained if the victim was breeding them for dog fights (illegal), which could explain the attack. Likely, the pitbulls that attacked him weren't raised by him from puppies. So they had not bonded, and had no respect for him. Also, 13 dogs are too many to properly breed and care for by just one person. Not enough quality time spent with each dog.
How would he breed them for fights? They all are born fighting, that’s why they need training to not be aggressive.

These dogs are not for weak people. Yet, either weak people who have no control buy them or abusive people who leave them chained up all day making them intolerant of people & other dogs. Pits are probably the most abused, unsocialized & untrained dog breed... making it truly unsurprising to see the stats. But its easier to blame the dog...even with cases like this where the victim clearly was treating them in a fishy manor.

To begin with, those are bullies, not the true American Pitbull Terriers. Furthermore, he is a backyard breeder who is purely motivated by financial gain. The aim of a respectable dog breeder is to create dogs who are robust, balanced in terms of behavior, and health.
@Mr.Reckless ... So true. Bullies are more muscular and broader with shorter legs. American Pits are leaner less muscular with longer legs. I've been wanting a female Staffordshire Terrier. What's the difference between them and the Bullies and American Pit? I'm sure they're all the same as for their temperament as long as you raise them with lots of love and to obey with an alpha mindset? I've Googled it but come up with different answers each time. Wondering if you really know this breed well?

Amstaff and APBT are more closely related, AmStaff was used to hunt small game where the APBT was used in the pit but both are bred for their loyalty and love of their owner(s). Bullys although originate from APBT have been crossed with many breeds to get a specific look and man aggression for protection. Regardless for all breeds, bad breeding = bad dogs.

Sadly, this is false- there have been multiple stories of pit bulls in loving homes attacking children and grown adults and mauling them to death. It is their breed. Their bite strength is so strong even though they are responsible for less attacks then many breeds their attacks are the most fatal. We need to create laws to stop these animals from being kept as pets. Yes of course they are capable of love and emotional support like all dogs but when it goes bad it’s a life lost as a consequence. Sad but true. And this is coming from someone who loves all animals.
Breeding them for what? This man had 13 dogs. How irresponsible. Pit Bulls like any other breed should be trained, bonded, and socialized. My dog of choice has always been Pit Bulls. My oldest living until 18 years of age. Now, the ignorance of another person will start the oh, we should ban pit bulls. I see too many cases of people breeding this breed and it not for selling them to be part of some ones family. But, selling them to fight or become bait. In these cases I just hope the dogs don't have to pay for the ignorance of people. I read this story yesterday and it should bring light to the plight of the Bully Breed by those who shouldn't have any breed of dog period. There are a lot of Michael Vicks out here. SAD!

They’re not family you idiot, and my family doesn’t teach this pit bull mix of ours to be aggressive, yet it still show signs of aggression, I have two sisters but ONE of my sisters and my mom babies the dog, the most, even after it/the dog just destroyed somebody’s belonging or destroy anything, so yeah the dog either gets babied or put in the cage or outside like that’s going to do anything. Plus, this thing was a puppy when it was given to us by my brother (still is a puppy) and… the original owner that gave it to my brother, the original owner wanted it back so it could fight… so what are you talking about?

I was attacked yesterday by two pit bulls that knocked me down from behind, jumped on me and started biting me..I was terrified that they would maul me. They ran away and I have some serious injuries and left with medical bills.
