RR Ghost is to be cancelled after it's current generation for it to be replaced by an Alpina 7 series which will directly compete with any Maybach S class, leaving the further upper ultra luxury market for the only car available in it's segment, Phantom/Phantom Electric.
B3 gt any day over the M3 if you like to keep your cars for a while and like something unique and very special. M3 if you lease and want the newest and fastest, but also look at me car

A really interesting review. As a last ICE before we are all in EVs this really hits the spot. Inline six and Alpina customisation produces something classy and fast. At €125k it is worth the money especially as there will not be too many others on the road. A grown up boy racer for those who have got over their mid life crisis, chest wig, and medallions. What fun.

Nice car , those wheels are to die for Alpina classic 20 spoke , love them ! Love that nice thick steering wheel too. This seems more like a fast cruiser than a track handling car like the M3 is . Is the top speed of this ALPINA B3 GT greater than that of the M3 ? Super review of a high class vehicle ! I think it was smart that BMW purchased Alpina very smart decision. Bis bald Thomas !
I’ve always felt that Alpina is old money, and BMW M is new money. It has so much class all over, where an M3 is just in your face. This is my dad dream car, whilst I’m driving a G20 330i LCI… Ok, let’s get to work!

B3 GT Alpina is something like M350i would be if it existed, with the comfort options, broader rims and wider tire sections, which customers were always asking for, but BMW never wanted to offer.
Love it inside and out. Engine, ethos, everything. I do wish there was some of the Alpina green stitching on the inside (and that it was sold in America and that I could afford it if it was).
Why oh why can't BMW/M/Alpina offer a normal gauges option in the screen. Just simple classic round white on black or orange on black gauges. It is unacceptable to force us to re orient gauge reading.
The new GT range from Alpina is so exciting and exclusive! So many ways to customise the interior, top performance and still lower prices than the counterpart M models! And let's not forget about B4 GT GranCoupe! 🤩💪
Thomas, a bit disappointing: I expected you to be more enthusiastic about this car. But you couldn't really test it on those roads. I've owned three Alpinas so far and they are the most capable cars on the road, offering performance, ride comfort and handling beyond most other brands costing twice as much. Please test either a D3 or B3 Touring in Germany and take them up to 300kph/180mph; even you will be suitably impressed.
Lovely car - the perfect combination of comfort, luxury and sportiness. Far more appealing than the M3, in fact, unless you are going to regularly track-it, I don't know why anyone would consider an M3 over this.
Price tag, normally alpina costs a lot more and comes with leather all around, customized interior, torquier tuning of BMW engines, more comfortable ride and adequate gearing for autobahning
This is the first good looking Alpina I have seen. I always thought they looked like an old man’s car. The M3 grill has grown on me and overall I prefer the M3 aggressive looks but this is a gorgeous car!
Really nice car! I have several questions, that I don't know if you know: Alpina doesn't sell in Spain, what could happen with warranty in countries like this? The 4 series Grand Coupe doesn't include the M440d but Alpina has the D4S. Is the Alpina so much different compared to a regular 3/4 series, to make an effort and pay 10-15% more?
That looks so nice. As pre-LCI G20 owner this is very tempting but price will be mad. I confirm that steering feel. It is most problematic in highway driving because center is so numb. You , kind to need adjust steering wheel all the time little bit. Our 2006 renault has better steering.
This review is literally the reason I chose an M550i 3 years ago over an M5. V8 530 HP and very punchy at low RPM's... Today I swapped my M550 for a 20204 X5 50E. Definitely, a BMW driver for life!
@@fahedsayed2201 my screen went blank 8 months in… Went to dealer, they replaced it… Other than that, absolutely nothing. I fill up once every 3 months, so that’s something new 😊 (Especially coming out of an M550i which gets 14 mpgs on a good day in NYC) I’ll tell you this much, the stock air suspension makes the ride feel like an X7. You have the torque and hp of the M550i (almost) I can’t recommend it enough!!!
I wish we got these in North America. I'd much rather have one of these as opposed to a M3. The front end is much better looking and it's much better suited to daily street driving.

That's a bad news for Alpina fans. It was always great to see that "outsourced" vision of Alpina. They stand for it. So not a fan of BMW rights on Alpina now.
It will be interesting to see what BmW do with it will it just be a trim line like Alpina Sport or whatever or really take advantage of low volume OEM status and do some non hybrid cars for silly money including the EU tax penalty

Since bmw have their M brand it seems like Alpina will just become a trim level - drop the suspension and engine work of Alpina and just pile on the fancy leather. The way Ford destroyed the Ghia mark 40 years ago to no longer be a coach builder, just a top and eventually only near top of line trim. Hope I'm being too pessimistic

The B3 GT and B5 GT are going to be the pinnacle of Alpina/BMW. Its all downhill from here im afraid.

@4:40 With those struts for extra rigidity, why not just use the already rigid chassis from the M3 rather than the M340i? It looks stunning though!
