  • Learn the many advantages of utilizing a hydrogen torch, from making headpins, retipping prongs, resizing rings and more. Compared to other soldering systems, hydrogen torches do not require tanks of pressurized gasses and do not emit potentially health-threatening fumes, making them economical to operate and safe and easy to use.

    How does this torch work? I don't understand how the flame has such power without air being pushed through with the H gas. Are there holes to bring passive air into the torch?

    • @RioGrande1944
      @RioGrande1944  7 лет назад +1

      Hi there, Thanks for your questions. Our Jewelry Tech team advises that a mask is not required, but adequate ventilation is recommended. Yes, the hydrogen torch will work with copper as long as the piece you're working on isn’t too big. Bracelet-sized pieces are too big for the hydrogen torch, but ring-sized pieces are fine. Hope this helps & thanks for watching!

      Alphonsus Padavano Its oxygen and hydrogen, the results from burning them is literally just steam, basically the worst that can happen is it condenses on wood or drywall which could result in it rotting after a while if it’s not cleaned.

    • @george4781
      @george4781 3 года назад

      No. The max temperature of this flame is 2800 degrees which falls short to melt stainless steel. Apart from stainless steel all other metals can be done with this flame. This is an HHO flame. Methanol mixed with boric powder is used as a flame modifier to increase the flame intensity and soften the flame.

    • @curtisoliver1006
      @curtisoliver1006 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@george4781 2800C not 2800F. More than enough to melt stainless steel. 2800C however is the absolute max of this flame. Realistic temps will be lower. But not low enough to struggle with steels.

      Hi Matas, Thanks for your question. We asked our Jewelry Tech Team for their input, and here's what they had to offer. "The Hydrogen torch works well for small soldering jobs like rings, but not bigger jobs like a foundry or casting. The Hydrogen torch can even struggle with a cuff bracelet. The torch’s main purpose is for people working at the bench in an area where larger tanks are typically not allowed like apartments or shopping malls." Hope this helps!

    Hi. Am I correct in assuming this torch work by producing HHO via electrolysis on demand? If so may I ask how often the electrodes need to be replaced and what they are made out of? And does it use just KOH or NaOH or can it use both and how often do you need to refill? Additionally, how many amps are drawn by the system when in use?
    I'm also slightly curious about the color of the flame, I see on the technical documentation that a boron + methyl alcohol flux is being added but I don't understand how or at what point this is being mixed in with the HHO gas. Could you explain the process by which the 'booster tank' full of the flux is used when combining the two? Is the alcohol mix heated and used as vapor or something and/or does it also act as a bubbler/flashback suppressor? Because the two solutions are not combined into one during electrolysis correct?

    • @Mass-jab-death-2025

      @Chris-io2cs Год назад

      @@Mass-jab-death-2025 sorry what? There are a lot of HHO scam videos out there, but this is just a product. Maybe it's a shitty overpriced product that we should call a scam anyway, but my question was about how it mixes in the boron flame coloring. That part is not a scam it's clearly doing that it's not photoshop. Unless you're saying you don't believe this video is showcasing valid chemistry..
      Regardless there's no point in hoping for one of their engineering team to check in on RUclips comments since you're probably right if you're saying that's never gonna happen.

      aluminum is a really bad idea but it will definitely weld steel just as good as oxy acetylene. if you know what your doing it is definitely not easy but first off you need to fill your bubbler chamber with gas instead of water secondly you cant directly touch the spots you are trying to weld together you got to heat the surface around it. It works best with a rod and flux it is i myth that you cant do it because it is difficult and most people have absolutely no idea what they are doing. I will argue this point with anyone and win im a certified welder and have a degree in metallurgy.
