    Another day at the beach! Love the sand and the grasses. The shadows create such a beautiful play on all the colors. Great work! Cant't wait for the next video. Thanks again for sharing your work with everyone.

    Watching this just never gets old. It's my go-to when I need inspiration or to get my head in a better place--just brings me peace:) I sure don't know how you can get those fine lines out of that brush; also, amazing that you can paint without having to put your hand down on the canvas to steady it....magic? So appreciative:) Subscriber from Panama City, FL

      Thank you very much, it just takes some practice and you get used to it! It depends on the amount of pressure you apply on the brush.

    I'm a beginner. This tells me no matter how loose the final result is, every stroke has to be planned. And I like how dark you made the shade in the sand to be and it turned out great. Learned a lot today.

    I was amazed to see how the sand was "flattened out". Initially it seemed like there was one large, long dune that was very high, but over the course of the painting with all the small colour additions and slight changes, especially the brush strokes, it evened out a became less steep and more gentle.
    I also learned a lot regarding the building up of so many layers in the bushes, all the time getting lighter, and lighter, creeping forward, getting longer thinner strokes at the end.
    I learned so much watching this, thank you for sharing your skills.

    You mentioned that you use 70% Gamsol to 30% linseed oil. Is that what you use throughout the whole painting until you get to the highlights and then is mostly all pigment? This has been the hardest part to understand when trying to learn how to manipulate the oils. This is a great video. Thanks for sharing your time and talents!

      Amelya Goldy I used a #8 flat for the sky, but remember if you’re doing a larger painting you might want to go to a #10 or 12! The fan brush was a #1 synthetic.

    This video used to have your commentary. Is that video taken off youtube?

      Hi Mirala, you are right it did in the past but it also had and underlying soundtrack that RUclips was giving me a hard time about say it was copyrighted. I don’t see why because it was Apple’s license, anyways, I had to delete the entire sound from the video otherwise the problems kept coming with RUclips, so I apologize for that!

    Beautiful painting. I have a question about the yellow that you used. You listed Cad Yellow at beginning of video but during video you mentioned using Cad Yellow Lt and Cad yellow medium. Could you clarify? Love your style.

      Hi Deborah, I must have added Cad Yellow Lt to my palette, because it’s not a starting color for me! I always start with cad yellow medium which has a little red in it, so it’s versatile. I use cad yellow Lt for highlights and bright greens.

    Hi was it hours or days you left the first layer to dry?

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  4 года назад

      Hi Vanessa, I actually did this painting in one sitting, and I was able to achieve that by using a paint drier, such as Liquin! Also the first layer was painted thin so that it dries quicker with the drier and the subsequent layers where laid on thicker while still using liquin in the paint itself.

      @@GebahiArtworks Hi, I love this tutorial and have had a go in acrylics and now going to try it in oils. I have only used Zest-It as a medium - do you mix Liquin, Gamsol and linseed oil for the whole painting? Many thanks

    • @GebahiArtworks
      @GebahiArtworks  3 года назад

      @@lynnwise2752 yes, I have a small bottle where I mixed 30% linseed oil to 70% Gamsol in it so it’s ready to use at all times! I use it throughout the painting and you can use it throughout all stages of the painting! Or you can just use Liquin all by itself.
