GOODBYE GRAY HAIR...MAYBE?

- Some days-just some-I get really bored with this gray hair and have the desire to color it. I bought this product by ROUX called Fanci-full temporary hair color rinse months ago. I was going to use it when I was growing out my gray. I never used it, but today I'm going to give it a try.
Watch and tell me what you think?

Another product to try is Control GX Grey Reducing Shampoo. It very gradually reduces gray but easily washes out after a little while. The product is marketed to men but that didn't stop me from trying it out.
I'll have to look for it! Thank you. The gray reducing shampoo most likely is a temporary rinse with, as you mentioned, a clever marketing strategy to get men to buy the same product. I guess men wouldn't want to say, "Oh honey, can you also grab me a bottle of Loving Care's Chocolate Brown." hahahahah
Good to know. My husband uses that for his beard.
Thank you for this! I’m all natural and gray but BORED. I understand completely all of your mixed feelings.
I am thinking about using a semi permanent. IF I do, I will certainly record. Thank you for watching. Let me know if you try something new.
Very pretty shade!
Love how the color turned out! I use a little food coloring with my leave in when I want to switch it up. Tfs😊👍
Thank you. I wish it had really took, but my hair is just color resistant. Even with hair dye I had to do magic to get the roots to turn brown. Usually, brown dye would only turn the roots orange or yellow gold. I would have to dye it a few times with different products.
Oooo. You are so brave. TFS. Peace, good health and joy.
I’m a little miffed it didn’t really take though. My hair rejected it. Even after I dried it the color would not soak in. So I’m going to do a patch test using Loving
Care temporary rinse. However, if it doesn’t wash out easily then I am going to just stick with my gray.
I tried this for the first time a few days ago, and I started with the dry hair. I am doing this more to help blending the grays until the grays completely grow out. I took a toothbrush and I dipped into the dye and applied that way to portions of my hair. It helps with dripping, and it helped with the color for a few days until I was able to wash it out. The biggest tip I suggest is use some type of toothbrush or something like it, that you can dip into the color and apply it with a brush. I am going to try this out again here in a few days.
Hi! Sorry for my late response. I don't know why I never thought about using a toothbrush. LOL. Like that would have been the best utensil for control and less messiness. LOL. Well, I've just been sticking with the gray/white and not using any toners. If I do use a temporary rinse or tint, I will certainly use a tooth brush. Have a wonderful evening.
Also, if adding a full head of it, use a spray bottle to apply.
I love the way your gray came in
Thank you so much.
Love this!! It makes your hair look like you have some blonde highlights. Gorgeous!
Yes. That is what I was hoping for. I don't know if my hair is too porous or not porous enough and that is why the color didn't really saturate my hair. I am going to try again. I like my gray, but as I have said in the past I would like to change it up every now and again.
Looks beautiful. Not sure if you can see but my hair is all white and I want to toned it down a bit. I'm going to try this. thanks.
I've been away for a while, so my apology for my late response. Did you try it? If yes, what color did you choose and how did it turn out? I have to say though your hair looks so shiny and soft. I think it looks beautiful.
Beautiful again❣️ It amazes me how much length you lose after your hair is dry. Love the length and volume.
Yes, I have been getting bored with my color as well. However, just watching you apply that color brought back memories of having to process every 2-3 weeks.
Not missing those days at all. Especially now with salons being closed. I feel like I just made it out in time. ☺️😚😊
Yes, shrinkage is real. There are some women who have almost waist length hair, but have shrinkage to their ears. It is crazy. We are so lucky to not be among those who are dealing with roots in need of a major touch up. I miss the color every now and again, but I do not miss the maintenance, the money spent, the color saturating the ends of the hair while creating rust/red/orange toned roots. Have a good rest of your week.
Love your hair❤️such unique gray❤️
Thank you so much. Isn’t it interesting how people’s gray comes in so different? It is so strange that not only is it mostly just the front that has lost its pigment, but one half is whiter than the other.
I’ve been playing with Arctic Fox color on my gray. Purple or blue so far. Blue is nice because as is fades out it makes the gray whiter looking. Lasts a good month on me! Looking forward to hearing how well yours lasts. Love your length!
It was a wee bit rubbish. I am not sure who actually has success with this product. I mean I can’t bash it all the way-it did tone down the bright white of my hair and I was happy about that. Aaaand the few strands that looked like they were the “spun sand” color were nice enough, but overall meh. 😐 I had applied it when it was dry, but the color just kept running down my head and face. I would like to try to fun colors, but not sure if that would go over so well at work (but hey I’m home now. Maybe now is the time to try.)
Yvette's Day I vote yes! Now’s the time! I just do about 4” of ends...then I don’t have roots. I put it on dry for about and hour. Wrap in plastic. Wash out. I’ve tried manic panic too, and that just rubbed off on everything and didn’t last a week. Arctic Fox hardly leaves dye on a white towel first shampoo. I’m impressed.
Hope you are well and staying safe to! Here in sweden we have different guidelines but it is still scary for everybody. Me and my family stay at home as much as possible but i am a teachter so i have to go to work... but we dont go out to eat or do any activities....
i hope this soon will end! Wish you all the best!
Linda! Wow, so you are a real deal Olofsson. I just assumed you were American with roots in Minnesota or Wisconsin. Very ignorant of me, and doubly so to assume all Americans with Scandinavian roots would be from the Midwest, and triply ignorant of me to not know, especially if you had already told me you were from Sweden. Wow. Wow.
I am very surprised that school is in session for you all. Schools have been closed here. I’m not sure about all the states, but a good number of them. I could go on and on about how frightening this is. As all things like this are, it isn’t something we can see coming. We can understand the number of cases in densely populated areas, but When we hear about it in remote places where people from that area rarely travel far and rarely have outside visitors, then, it really makes no sense. I could go on and on about how this has negatively and disastrously impacted people’s lives, but we all know. I don’t want to be woeful so I’ll stop here. Please
stay safe. 🤗🌸
Thanks for the review 😊
I love your hair and you have such a beautiful face
Thank you very much and you are very kind. LOL.
Thanks, very helpful video. I never blow dry my hair, its healing from loss and damage to boot. Can I let it air dry with the this product?
Hi C B. Sorry for being tardy. Because the product is so watery, I think they suggest using a blow dryer to lock in the pigment/color fast, however, I believe you would be able to let your hair air dry. You will have to keep a towel around your shoulders so that the color doesn't drip on anything. I wanted to try darker colors, but still haven't made my way into any beauty supplies stores.
I'm assuming I won't be able to use this product because my hair is natural and I don't dry it I just let it dry naturally so I guess I'll put my conditioner on first and then this product I don't know what it would work what do you think
Hi! Thank you for dropping by. Hmm. This product is tricky because the instructions are that you apply it while your hair is damp. I cannot remember if the instructions mentioned putting it on the hair before using styling product. Of course, that is difficult for us curly gals to do since we usually require some styling aid when letting our hair air dry. That being said, I would say try it both ways. After you wash your hair, apply a little bit of the conditioner you usually use, then apply the temporary color. If the conditioner makes it difficult for the color to adhere to the hair, then I would try the reverse; apply the color to your damp freshly washed hair and after it dries then add your styling product. I do have a third suggestion and I'm going to try this myself; mix the color and some of your styling conditioner together in a bowl then apply it to your freshly washed damp hair and let it air dry. Beware! This product is watery/loose and will probably still be so even after you mix it with your conditioner. If you are NOT going to use a hair dryer, then make sure to wear something you won't mind color dripping onto and stay away from light colored fabrics (chairs, couches, curtains, rugs, etc.) until the hair is completely dry. Let me know how it works out.
I love that pink blouse hanging up- where is it from please ?
Thank you! Anne Taylor Loft and it is a work horse. I machine wash it (hang it to dry) and it always looks good. I wear it with jeans or with dressier work pants. The best part is that it is not that expensive. They do a version of it each year, so while you may not find this one now, a new version will come out.
Yvette's Day ooh I want it I’ll have to see if I can get it in the UK 🇬🇧 XX
Your hair is so beautiful. But I know what is like to want to change things up from time to time
Thank you so much. Yes, I really do like my gray/white, but I’m really craving something different. Going to experiment with a real temporary rinse. A strand test will be done first,
since I know it will color the hair; but for how long is my concern. And will it only fade, and leaving a weird tone is my other worry. 🤗
Wow you looked like a teenager to me on your thumbnail haha you're so youthful!
LOL. Nope. Those youthful days are long over.
I loved the color you got. How long did it last???
Thank you. Because I suffer from night sweats (menopause) I was afraid to sleep with it in my hair. I washed it out before I went to bed.
Thank you for being brave enough to try this for the rest of us!💕
I would consider this product if I could be certain that it did wash out entirely!😨 I’m afraid of actually coloring my light grey even with a temporary color!
Thanks for letting us see your process👍🏻😀
What I should have mentioned is that even after i dried it I tried to put more onto my dry hair. My thought was that maybe the dry hair would suck up the liquid better. Nope. It just kept running all over the place and I had to use the cloth to catch it. I ended up wiping most of it off again. I may try one of the loving care temporary colors. I will do a test in a patch and see if it will wash after several washes.
Black rage makes white grey hair silver toned. Real silver. Pretty if you’re looking for silver
Thank you very much for the suggestion. Have a great day.
Fanciful roux is tried and true. Will never stain.
Yes! It washes out the hair very well.
Also easier to use in stay bottle
Will try that next time.

Gracias! Ten un día maravilloso. Gracias por visualizar mi video.
Your face looks so young, like maybe 28. I started to get grays when I was 19, and last year it started to be gray right at the front. I am not ready to transition yet because it will age me so much, and I feel young still. But it starts to be so annoying with my grays visible after just one month after coloring. It seems like this shampoo is too much work for barely any effect.
Thank you. 28 is a stretch. Hahaha. I honestly believe I appear younger because I film in front of a window-usually when the sun is shining. Light directly on the face is naturally filtering. If I were to have swiveled my chair around and filmed with the light behind me you'd see all 51 years. Let me tell you-I am tired of the gray and not for any reason except I am BORED with it and want some pizazz. I do also believe that if I were to color it, I will regret that decision. I may have to figure out what I can do that isn't permanent, but also makes enough of a visual difference. Only transition to gray when you are ready. There's no rule that says you have to stop coloring. One of the reasons why I did transition was exactly what you pointed out--a week or two later my grays would be visible and I was just done with coloring. Thanks for watching and have a great day.
@@YvettesDay Sallys have that liquid drops that you add to your hair color to cover your grays. I started to experiment with coloring myself at home, because I can always go to color my hair at the salon if it is completely messed up haha. I definitely do get bored with my hair so I do something with it every so often. It is such a pain sometimes because I lost my haidresser of 12 years, and I can't find comparable replacement.
You don’t have to rinse this out?
Hi Bahama Mama. This product is actually made to not be rinsed out. You put it on your hair and use a dryer to set it in. Here is where you have to be careful (my experience)- If you hair gets wet (e.g. it rains and you do not have an umbrella OR head covering) the color will run...as in drip on your face and onto your clothes. If you sweat profusely (as in working out at the gym) the color may run. In my experience, this product is good only if your hair can stay completely dry all day. Also, I rinse this after each day out because I do not want to chance having it transfer onto my pillow. I do believe some people have left this on their hair for a few days and have said they had no issues with it running or transferring.
@@YvettesDay I bought it and returned it yesterday. Not worth it. Sounds like a horrible product. Thanks for answering.
You're welcome. Some people have told me it works great for them!!!!!! I wish it had worked for me. It would have made my transition from dyed to gray a lot easier.
Im 40 but my hair in the front getting gray i hate it
Why do you hate it? Do you think it may take some getting used to? Once it is all grown in you may end up loving it. Look at all the Instagram gray hair accounts for inspiration. That is what I did every time I wanted to dye it.
@@YvettesDay its not cute in my head wish if it grow like your its just my roots and its all over
You are so beautiful
Without my glasses I can’t see if you wear glasses. 😂 😂 😂. Lemme do a video without makeup. Hahah. Okay, but that you very much for the compliment.
@@YvettesDay lol you are funny
You are beautiful
You are very kind. Thank you for the compliment.
Is it just me or does fancifull sound like a brand of cat food? Like "Don't let your cat go hungry... Or out of style. Feed them Fancifull“
Very cat food like. LOLOL.
Hablen en español
Hola. Oh, desearía poder hablar Espanol con fluidez. Debería hablar el idioma con fluidez considerando que mi educación formativa comenzó en un colegio bilingüe. Planeo practicar español en un futuro próximo.
You should have got black
Hi! Thank you for watching. Black may be too dark. I want to play with color every now and again, but don’t want to do too dark. Thank you for watching.
@@YvettesDay I'm > 70, hair was mousy brownish & strawberry blonde in my youth.
I transfer Fanciful 'Black Rage' to a spritzer. I LIGHTLY spray it only on my white DRY hair (front & top for me, maybe 3 light spritzes). Then I comb/brush to distribute to all hair & let it air dry. It takes the edge off the white hair & makes all hair uniform. Additionally, it conditions.
