michael edwards I have the Bergara Premium in 300 win mag, received it 3 months ago and have been developing a long range load. I won't go into detail but yesterday on the range I shot 5, 5 shot groups under 1/2 MOA at 600 yards. The next plan is take this load to a mile. The recoil has been reduced by 65% using an MDT brake and my choice for the optic is the incredible Tract Optics "Toric" 4.5-30 x 56, 34 mm tube, FFP with IR in MIL. Peterson brass, Hornady 195 ELD match, IMR 7828 74 gr. The cat is out of the bag, the Bergara rifles are truly good shooters.
I think i might buy the ATips just fot the cool bag. Like a sack of shiny coins. $100 a box… yah. But i bet my B-14 300 PRC would sure love to spit some out. How do you like the ADG brass? Picked some up with some VV stuffed behind some 220 ELDX and next the 225 ELDMs. Hoping for a node in the 2500fps range as my combo is estimated at approx. 3k barrel life vs 1.5k avg. Fantastic shooting also btw.
Nice, I am getting ready to start my load development on my 230's and bergara wilderness also. And I will be using the reloader 26 and have some IMR 8133 to try. This gets me excited.
I assume you're using a Hornady die set? If so have you have any issues with it not sizing the brass enough? I see you are using ADG, have you tried hornaday brass?
No I am using redding type s dies, I am using hornady and adg now, the hornady brass sizes fine just like the adg. The hornady brass defiantly is softer than adg and shows pressure sooner.
Can't speak for the Bergara, but I have a Christensen arms Mesa long range in .300 prc that shoots phenomenal, the recoil on my rifle feels a lot like my weatherby vanguard in .30-06
I saw Reddit reloading 82 grain of N570 powder to achieve a speed of 2905 (hornady 250grain a-tip). He said the life span of the barrel is only slightly reduced and there is no safety issue. However, I wonder Is it really safe What do you think about that?
@@kirkmartin2223 Yeah, that's what I think. Recently, I've been looking into wildcat cartrige, which is 7mm300prc, and I think it's also a very good performance. I don't know why Hornady doesn't release a 7mm prc.
Yes I do like it, my honest opinion would be it’s not intended for match use. Barrel needs to be larger for multiple continuous shots but for hunting and slow time long range use it’s perfect. I now have it in an XLR industries chassis and it’s accuracy is really good, under an inch at 200m.

Let me know how you get on, good luck, ps. Let it cool- it’s a must
Nice. Thanks for sharing. RL-26 is nearly impossible to find.

Great stuff brother.👍👍
ha, my magnetospeed. needs tape help too. Those are really impressive numbers.
I just ordered my HMR in 300 PRC. What brass and primers are you using?
Can you post pics or videos of your groups?
Grant Baker I’m using ADG brass and fed 215 magnum primers
Just picked up a wilderness hmr in 300prc and 8 pounds of RL26 I don’t know what bullet to shoot yet looking for long range elk like the 245 Berger
Whaiting for shooting video. I m interested in the recoil of this caliber. Thanks for sharing.
Same! Ordered the same rifle as well in 300 prc.
Can't speak for the Bergara, but I have a Christensen arms Mesa long range in .300 prc that shoots phenomenal, the recoil on my rifle feels a lot like my weatherby vanguard in .30-06
I have the same rifle with a lambda break and it recoils less than my 25-06
I found the recoil with factory brake way less than my 308 without brake, Bergaras a solid gun and sucks up a lot of recoil,

I am afraid i wouldn't like to comment as i havent tried n570 yet,
Sounds like a pretty hot load. N570 is a great prc powder

I have a pack of 230 grain and 250 grain A-Tips... they are tooo nice to shoot. lol.
Haha, keep them on your fireplace 👍
@@josh.precisionrifle8972 Yes.... Hornady's fault... and a bit too nice to waste at 330 yards which is what I have avail until COVID shutdowns lifted.
What size mags are you using? I just ordered Bergara HMR in 300 prc and having problems finding what mags to buy.
@@tactical_overland_zr2188 Not sure on the Bergara but using the Accurate - Mag mags that came with the RPR.
@@tactical_overland_zr2188 almost positive that you can use .300 Win Mag AICS magazines.
Whats scale is that? Thats a nice setup
It’s a Lyman gen 6
@@josh.precisionrifle8972 thank you sir
What brass you using?
Just order a highlander in 300 prc you think it will kick to much for how light it is?
no its not that bad really, get a good brake and that will really dull it down
Wouldn't you want to keep the A-Tips in their batch order?
within batch of 50 is perfectly fine
Is this a Redding T7 reloading press?
Yes
How much boom powder are you using
76 or reloader 26
@@josh.precisionrifle8972 76 grains? Of reloaded 26

Not a huge fan of Bergara, but the 300PRC round is an excellent long range flat shooting round.
Why don’t you like Bergara?
@@JacobTheGunNut just not a fan, but you get what you pay for I guess.
