Am I the only one thinking that adding Akuma, Geese, Noctis, Negan and Eliza to Tekken 7's roster is actually a huge dvelopmnent and audience test for Tekken X Street Fighter?
This should be very obvious, but I sometimes see ppl question the idea of 2d characters in Tekken 7. Like they completely forgot SFxTekken existed and that Bamco was working on their version of the crossover game but held back cos of SFxT's performance.
Honestly this game came out too early. As in it was above its time and not appreciated for what it does compared to today. Three things could fix this game easily. Removed the gem system, buff the timer so fights are not rushed, and make it to where both char has to die instead of 1. Simple fix on top of character patch a little this game was my favorite.
Jamal Edwards the end product was an AMAZING game and people would still be playing it today if they nurtured it the same way they nurture the rest of their sf games. Despite all the DLC issues and gems, Street Fighter X Tekken remains as one of my top 5 favorite fighting games of all time. I like the roster and while I (still do) love the Street Fighter IV series because of its roster and how it was a balance game, SFXTK actually felt easy to play and it one of those games I recommend beginners to try out when they wanna learn a fighting game that’s “easy to learn”. I still play the game daily and enjoy but despite some unpopular opinions I had in other games and series, people hating on the game is something I completely understand and I don’t blame the reaction. Overall, it’s one of my favorite fighting games of all time and I know at some point in the future, we will get a Tekken X Street Fighter game.
Wasn't a fan of the direction Street Fighter took from 4 to 5 so I made the switch to Tekken 7 with it's launch on PC & I'm really enjoying it. The implementation of Akuma in the game is great, but with the volume of fighting games being released recently I'm not sure I'd want to see Tekken vs Street Fighter any time soon.
There's a gem that gives you a 30% attack bonus with no drawback for ten seconds but the "All or Nothing!" ultimate power up that requires you to sacrifice your partner only gives you a 15% attack bonus and lasts for seven seconds, after which you automatically lose? Okay, I suppose the later gives you unlimited super meter too but given that the timer doesn't stop for super animations...
I remember being so excited when I thought it was originally a darkstalkers 4 reveal. After Jedah in marvel infinite the series is confirmed dead. RIP darkstalkers
This was really great, the wait was worth it. I recently got the game, and wow, i didn' know that the launch was really bad, but the game as now is really good, i have fun playing it (dlc is a little bit too much). Keep up the good work. P.S the ending was too funny.
Definitely a diamond in the rough. Even seeing how they made Tekken characters come alive in the Street Fighter world was dope. Man the gameplay, the customization, only minus for me was that lack of stages and didn't have an infinite timer as an option. Other than that this is game was Golden. This one of those games that make you wanna buy an PS3 or Xbox 360 just to play it.
@@NewGabeOrder No, it wasn't. The thing was two games from Capcom and two by SNK. SVC Chaos was SNK's second game. The first was Match of the Millenium for NGPC.
SFxT's problem is that it came out a bit too early for people to accept the DLC practices. In 2019 people will defend what SFV does to the death...in 2012 it wasn't as tolerated back then. It was the tail-end of the mentality of "it's a fighting game, so all the characters you can get by unlocks/codes in-game". I mean, seriously....12 fighters locked behind *on-disc* DLC? It took about 15 years or so, but the average videogamer these days has been pretty much groomed to believe that DLC and lootboxes is just the way it has to be.
SFxT is a lesson in consumer patience (or lack thereof). By the time they fixed it and made it a good game, no one cared. Gotta get it right the first time...
I personally think this is one of the best fighting games cause it's dream come true status. The tag combos were fun and the presentation was amazing. God damm DLC gems and netcode unfortunately stop this beautiful game from going forward. Fantastic video man keep em coming🤙
Street Fighter V sucks so bad. I love the gameplay but I hated the way they handled it. Maybe they'll do better with Street Fighter 6. Street Fighter X Tekken 2 really do needs to happen. I like the game. I still play it today.
Tekken x Street Fighter will honor the Capcom fighters more than SF x Tekken ever did. Akuma in Tekken 7 is such a love letter to Street Fighter. He plays beautifully right in the Tekken system. Meanwhile Capcom just slaps the SF4 engine with some Tekken characters. Weak.
Its far from possible for harada and bamco to release TxSF sooner or later, but I hope Crapcom remakes SFxT and remove the gems. Looking how SFV have certain juggle combos now.
Speaking as someone who still paid for the highest priced version of that game, what bothered me the most was capcom not giving me the opportunity to use my money in the way that I wanted. All that money I paid could've been used for the dlc characters that were already in the disk. There was no reason to do that, and it cost them their business with Namco.
Kinda glad this game died and harada went back to creating tekken in 3D, like he said tekken weren't suppose to be 2D gameplay style, only claudio or Eliza fit the bill for that. Long time interview.
What do you mean harada went back to creating Tekken in 3d? Harada didn't work on SFxTekken at all. He was working on the 3d version while Capcom released their game.
Good video dude. There was actually another problem with SFXT. According to the manual of both the PS3 and 360 versions, the games was suppose to have an Online Co-Op mode, which would allow 2 players on the same console to play against other people online. But despite this feature being mentioned in the manual of both versions, only the PS3 version had this feature available, and when Capcom tried to explain why it's not available in the 360 despite being mentioned in the manual, they tried to put the blame on Microsoft by saying that "due to the architecture of the game", only Sony made this feature available while Microsoft didn't. That was of course a pile of bullcrap, especially since Mortal Kombat 9, a 1V1 game that had a 2V2 mode, allowed 2 players to play in couch Co-Op both in the single player modes and online against other players in both the PS3 and 360 versions. That is another indicator of the priority-based relationship between Sony and Capcom. Also speaking of MK9, when it comes to DLC in fighting games (at 11:42), NRS/WB are the best, because not only they offer season passes while the base versions of their games come with huge amounts of content and characters from the start so the season passes look like a legit addition to already huge games, unlike other companies who offer medium to minimal amount of content in their base games and then offer season passes. EDIT: The fighting games in the early 2000 were amazing, and there were games that both casuals and competitive could've sink their teeth into. The 3D MK games were incredible as far as full-on products, while Bamco games had also awesome content alongside competitive aspects. So that line at the beginning was very, very much of stretch. Once again good video dude.
The only fighting game that ever did DLC good was Tekken Tag 2 having all DLC characters being a free update and the only paid for DLC being the soundtrack packs. That gem system really did prevent me from enjoying Street Fighter x Tekken more than the DLC issues and actually I didn't play it in depth enough to realize that the best gems had to be paid for. It really is unfortunate how it all turned out because as much as I loved the game, it only had me even more hyped for the Tekken x Street fighter game with the 3d gameplay of tekken instead of the 2d system of street fighter used in Street Fighter x Tekken. And now I actually wonder if parts of Tekken 7 were assets borrowed from that canceled project like the way Akuma fights in Tekken 7 or even how characters like Geese were designed to work in that 3d environment.
All the Tekken Tag 2 characters were on disc and clones of already existing characters outside of Doctor B. So it really wouldn't be the same as your normal character DLC
I remember seeing that trailer live when ryu called chin li into the fight. That was so hype. It’s a shame that this game never got the success it deserved.
Just watched this again after seeing Matt's What Happened video. Every time I see this game being streamed, the first thing that comes to my mind is what Japanese counterparts at Capcom said in defense of on-disc DLC: "Why would anyone crack the game!? That's illegal!" That, along with gems, PS3-exclusive characters (including the Bad Box Art Mega Man), and the timing of its release with other Capcom fighters released at that time tarnished the game's reputation.
You know, I feel like I could do a whole 'Thoughts on' type video for fighting game DLC practices. The genre hasn't figured it out yet and there's a lot of ground to cover to get there.
@@Stumblebee Sounds good. I think the BB Tag story hasn't really ended yet in the same way as SFxT or unfortunately MvCI (so young), so it might be better to cover DLC practices in general.

The Cat Did not like your joystick so he left the room LUL!!!
Great video man imo back in the day the game was fun to get into and im also glad your cat found away out the door
Your videos are such a labor of love. I get so much enjoyment from them thanks for doing this for us all!
Thank you! It takes a good long while to make these videos, so I'm just happy that you enjoy them too. :)
The time out problem wasn't fixed in the 2013 patch. The problem was the stages being way too big.
I love that this channel is continuing, though I wonder what could possibly be next, either way I know the quality will be well worth the wait. Fantastic work man!
I'm just saying Jafar could open the Cave of Wonders with this game.
Sora will still beat him thou.
The cat opened the door at 8:08... just sayin...
Cat leaves the room then immediately re-enters, peak cat right there
"The best selling 3D fighter--"
Funny enough, Tekken is the best selling fighting game series period. Yep. That includes Street Fighter AND Smash Bros.
That's going to change this year with smash ultimate and the 20 million switch units sold.
Smash and mk frist Tekken 2

These videos have been great. I love history pieces like this because it's so interesting to harken back to the FGC's reactions, even though I'm not really invested in the community. Can't wait for more!
HE MENTIONED MELTY BLOOD W00T
I find out about Melty Blood recently and played it the last one on the ps2 on emulator with the ps3 control, damn MB is really freaking good ( found it thanks to UNIEL on steam, freaking awesome as well).
These videos are great, man, and I don't even play nor know anything about fighting games. Maybe that's why I enjoy these so much? I'm really bummed I only just now found out about you. ANYWAY! I dunno if you're a Smash guy, but a "The History Of" or "Looking Back On" video on the series or even just an entry in the series (probably the black sheep that is Brawl) would be absolutely killer!
Your MvCI has been in my recommended list for weeks now, but I knew very well why the game failed myself and I didn't really care for the game so I didn't bother watching.
As a long time Tekken fan though who completely missed the Street Fighter x Tekken game back in the days, I was curious and watched this video. Since both videos got recommended to me over and over I expected a big channel and was astounded when I saw that you just created two videos, both of which RUclips wants me to see.
This is some high-quality and well-researched video. Looks like I'm going to watch the MvCI video after all.
You got yourself and new subscriber. I can't wait for more videos like this one. I hope you'll keep up with your current standards.
That's the plan! Thanks for the kind words! I'll have another video out next month :)
I'm looking forward to it!
man I love your videos! How do you only have 2?! It looks like you have the editing experience of someone who has been making videos on youtube for forever! Cant wait for the next one.
When Capcom tried to put MH decorations into a FG?? Yeah, i remember that.
Coming back after watching this when it first came out. Love your vids, Stumblebee! Hope your channel blows up

Prolific Guilty Gear fan, Mike Ross.
Don't you mean Waxl?
Wasn't a fan of the direction Street Fighter took from 4 to 5 so I made the switch to Tekken 7 with it's launch on PC & I'm really enjoying it. The implementation of Akuma in the game is great, but with the volume of fighting games being released recently I'm not sure I'd want to see Tekken vs Street Fighter any time soon.
You already have a bright future with this channel. Looking forward to what you have to talk about next.
20:52 *THANOS RYU*
There's a gem that gives you a 30% attack bonus with no drawback for ten seconds but the "All or Nothing!" ultimate power up that requires you to sacrifice your partner only gives you a 15% attack bonus and lasts for seven seconds, after which you automatically lose? Okay, I suppose the later gives you unlimited super meter too but given that the timer doesn't stop for super animations...
member when you could crash the game with rolento's knife? fun times
First your MVCI video, which definitely hit the nail on the head
and now this game.
You just earned a new sub, and that's me.
P.S the ending was too funny.
oooooo another one me likey
Definitely a diamond in the rough. Even seeing how they made Tekken characters come alive in the Street Fighter world was dope. Man the gameplay, the customization, only minus for me was that lack of stages and didn't have an infinite timer as an option. Other than that this is game was Golden. This one of those games that make you wanna buy an PS3 or Xbox 360 just to play it.
If there's ever a CvS3 I want you to be the announcer, love your voice!
WertyJess more like CVS4. SVC CHAOS was already the 3rd game.
@@NewGabeOrder No, it wasn't. The thing was two games from Capcom and two by SNK. SVC Chaos was SNK's second game. The first was Match of the Millenium for NGPC.
Heeeeyyy awesome video! I'm starting to really look forward to your channel man!
You know what. You earned yourself a sub.
I can't wait to see what more this channel puts out in the future. This is some good stuff
This game is officially 10 years old today!!!!
SFxT is a lesson in consumer patience (or lack thereof). By the time they fixed it and made it a good game, no one cared. Gotta get it right the first time...
Yeah and no exclusivity deals either
Weak.
I hope they make plans to release Tekken X Street Fighter
Thank you Ono.
Thank you Harada.
Thank you Kiryu.
Sounds great in theory, but the gems were just TOO much
DUDE!! That Solaire of Astora reference at the end 👍👏🤘🤟
They need to make a 3d version of tekken x street fighter where you can actually juggle like in tekken
They were making it, but it was put on hiatus said in the video.
Its far from possible for harada and bamco to release TxSF sooner or later, but I hope Crapcom remakes SFxT and remove the gems. Looking how SFV have certain juggle combos now.
Great videos. All of them are pretty darn accurate. Can't wait for the next one.
Give Tekken x Street Fighter!
@@nginroom8108 mybad. I meant to say glad he made ttt2 instead of this junk, instead of relying on capcom for this garbage.
Oh my you just teleported me back to the first time I saw the Street Fighter IV trailer and the immence joy I felt that day. How dare you XD.
*I miss this game. It was pretty fun. They should make it backwards compatible on xbox one* ✅🙂
I think KI did a good job as well
Well, thinking like that also ARMS made DLC well
All the Tekken Tag 2 characters were on disc and clones of already existing characters outside of Doctor B. So it really wouldn't be the same as your normal character DLC
Well except that you had to pay for an online pass which i lost so i was stuck offline if i didn't pay out like £15
I remember seeing that trailer live when ryu called chin li into the fight. That was so hype. It’s a shame that this game never got the success it deserved.
Thank you RUclips for recommend me this video
Just watched this again after seeing Matt's What Happened video. Every time I see this game being streamed, the first thing that comes to my mind is what Japanese counterparts at Capcom said in defense of on-disc DLC: "Why would anyone crack the game!? That's illegal!" That, along with gems, PS3-exclusive characters (including the Bad Box Art Mega Man), and the timing of its release with other Capcom fighters released at that time tarnished the game's reputation.
Can we get one of these vids on the backlash of bbtag?
You know, I feel like I could do a whole 'Thoughts on' type video for fighting game DLC practices. The genre hasn't figured it out yet and there's a lot of ground to cover to get there.
@@Stumblebee Sounds good. I think the BB Tag story hasn't really ended yet in the same way as SFxT or unfortunately MvCI (so young), so it might be better to cover DLC practices in general.
Stumblebee Hey it's not a bad idea.
Giving something like a thought on the subject would be really cool.
Some were accepted( smash, even thoght the price was too much.) and others...
