@ around level 8 RCM on skills. I played some melodies from level 10 but the easiest ones. But still didn’t passed my level 7 exam 🤪. Become a bit distracted by other melodies.
Thank you David! 🌹 I love Brahms too! Bach and Brahms are my two most favourite composers! Op. 118 is wonderful along with Op. 119 , 116 and 76. All masterpieces.
Wow. Great and difficult piece very well played. I always struggled with Brahms. Musically and technically, it is the opposite of the Chopin flow. Anyway, he wrote great music.
Thank you Thomas! 🌹 I love both Chopin and Brahms, but they have two very different styles, in my opinion. I find Chopin's music more beautiful, lyrical and melodious whereas Brahms' music is more passionate, emotionally deep, and thought-provoking. There is definitely more drama in Brahms' music that tends not to resolve until the very end, so in a way the tension, restlessness and turbulence persist till the last measure. Audiences appreciate Chopin a lot more, but for me Brahms' music is really powerful having the ability to touch my heart and soul more deeply than the music of Chopin or his other contemporaries.
@@shivarahimipiano Very well said and I agree with everything, only I dont think that Brahms is more emotionally deep. Perhaps more often than Chopin, but many of Chopin´s work have the same deepness. This aspect is anyway not possible to measure, but works like the f- minor ballade are for me (not only for me) on the deepest and highest level of composing.
@@Achtelnote Well as you said yourself it's impossible to measure these attributes! What is emotionally deep? And how such attribute can be measured? I guess that depends on the person, so in a way it's very subjective. I personally connect more deeply with Brahms while I very much appreciate the beauty and lyricism of Chopin. I'm perhaps the only person in the room who feels that way! 🤭I agree that Chopin composed some of the emotionally deepest music that one can ever find (like his ballades, polonaises, scherzos, etc). There is a reason why he is known as the poet of the piano. However, I feel like Chopin's depth and range of emotions are more easily accessible than those of Brahms. And that's where the concept of depth becomes more relevant. It's hard to describe, I guess.
@@shivarahimipiano Yes, this is subjective and I think you are not the only person who feels like that. I understand exactly what you mean at the end of your comment, but i am not sure if music becomes deeper just because it is harder to understand/feel.
The greater the depth, the harder the reach! The harder the reach, the harder the understanding! But that is just my humble view of this whole Brahms versus Chopin subject. So, it could be flawed since I'm not perfect in any way, which includes my thoughts and feelings. You're probably right dear Achtelnote!🌹
Wonderful, dear Shiva!! Thank you for this excellent Brahms interpretation! 👏👏👏🙏💫✨
