    Funny how entering the 2023 season the Texans was laughed at for trading their 2024 first rounder to move up to draft Will Anderson because they was picked to have the worst record. Nobody expected Houston to be any good. It’s amazing what a good coach and Qb can do. And by the way Texans offensive line was horrible last year CJ was running for his life all their starters was hurt and the line literally had third stringers and a walk on

    • @JustAnFootballGuy
      @JustAnFootballGuy  3 дня назад

      @@vickmcfadden833 That’s true. There was a lot of hate for trading up for Anderson because everyone thought they would have been bad. I guess my question is then what if the Texans drafted Young instead of Stroud?
      Because no one is perfect or even close to good with drafting QBs. I think the Texans got lucky but they deserve credit for taking Stroud.
      With the Texans offensive line though, the point was comparing his offensive line to Young’s offensive line.
      I really broke down the whole O-Line for him and explained why they looked better despite the players generally not being good.

    Many analysts will tell you that sacks are as much a QB stat as an o-line stat. How a QB moves and sees things behind the line can have just as much of an impact on how often he's pressured and sacked as the quality of the blocking. In this regard, Stroud improved significantly over the course of the season, while Young did not. I think the height issue cannot be ignored here, as Young, at 5'10", simply cannot step up into a pocket and still see his reads nearly as easily as Stroud can at 6'3", and so he would bail out and try to run either backwards or to the sides when pressure could have been avoided by stepping forward.
    I also question whether Bryce Young really had much in the way of elite traits. He could play very well off schedule, but that was against college defenders running college schemes. We've seen numerous examples of players who look very athletic in college, but compared to NFL players, simply aren't anything special. I think Young ran afoul of this particular issue, as he just doesn't seem to have the athleticism to consistently make the same plays against NFL caliber athletes. His arm talent has never overly impressed me either, as his arm strength was just average, and his accuracy was good, but nothing special. Maybe he processes information very quickly, but it certainly hasn't been very apparent in the NFL if he can. And that's not including his notable lack of size and stature.

    Trust me as a Texans fan I have experience seeing what a bad organization looks like. We took our lumps and I had some doubts with Nick Caserio but he and obviously hiring Demeco pretty much changed the culture.
    As for C.J and Bryce I always wanted C.J because pretty much he was perfect for the west coast offense we are running. He accurate he has a great arm and he 6,4 and I thought his ceiling was Joe Burrow and his floor his Geoff.
    Honestly if you have a Jared Geoff like QB who is at the top of the list of the second tier QBs right now then you have something.
    I didn’t want Bryce because his size was an issue and I didn’t think he would be a fit on our offense. But I always thought he could be a good QB in the league.
    It’s just that the Panthers ruined him pretty much, he has no confidence and this is not the organization that can help him gain his confidence.
    If I’m Bryce Young after this season I’m not showing up to Carolina ever again. I would ask for a trade I would say go to the Rams learn behind Stafford and McVay and sit for a few years until he ready to take over once Stafford hangs it up.

    This is an easy question. Young failed because the team they had around him was atrocious and he didn’t have the talent or willpower to overcome it. And he has an impulsive owner. Frank Reich was a good coach. Stroud succeeded because he already had a Pro Bowl left tackle guarding his blind side and had a pretty good team around him and he had a better coach. Like Joe Burrow. Everyone who was thrust into Burrows situation would not have succeded like he did. Bryce Young was thrown into a similar situation and he couldn’t overcome it. If Stroud had went to the Panthers o don’t think he could have overcome
    It either. Now this year Stroud has an all star team around him. Pro Bowlers and all Pros all over the place. The Panthers had 1 pro bowl player and he is a defensive tackle. When Burrow got to the Bengals Jessie Bates was the only All Pro on the defense. Yes Geno Atkins was still with the team in 2020 but he was hurt all year. And AJ Green was still with the team but he was also hurt most of the year and on the back 9 of his career. Joe Mixon was on the team but he misssd 10 games in 2020 and he wasn’t a Pro Bowler until 2021. All Burrow had was Tyler Boyd and a rookie Tee Higgins. That’s it. He had the 31st ranked offensive line. And the next season in 2021 he brought the Bengals to the Super Bowl behind the 28th ranked offensive line and the next year he brought them to the AFC championship again. It took the refs for the Chiefs to win that game. On another bitch ass call they won the game. Just like in week 2 of this season. A bitch ass call.
