Nice bro if you still learning, I got some few tips: Major chord: Just have to be memorised, however usually each note has one in between. Minor chord: the third note in the chord is flattened. Chord with a number at the end, such as Emaj7: Just do a regular E major chord, however, you count 7 from the first note as that is the number at the end. Suspended chord/Sus chord: eg Esus4: This doesn't matter if it's major or minor. Remove the third note of the chord and replace it with the number at the end, like Emaj7.
Idk man it's the least satisfying of the three to me. The last one just doesn't have enough diminished sound, each chord makes a quick jump to the next with no notes to maintain the last chord or set up the next one. It seems more artificial than the others somehow.
@@fleentstones117 can absolutely see where you’re coming from my man. But I think the fact that it’s not a traditional V-I (for instance) resolution is why my ears pricked up a bit. On the contrary about the notes though, the C that rings out at the top of every chord is so perfect IMO, plays a different role in each chord and is still the tonic , love it!
Yeah, the Dbmaj7 acts as a kind of substitute for the V chord. Db dominant 7 is the tritone sub for G dominant 7. Turning the tritone sub from a dominant 7th to a major 7th takes away some of the bite while simultaneously allowing the C sit on top (rather than a Cb). It also creates some parallel harmony. Very nice.
