As an ugly girl looks do matter I worked at taco bell senior year of high school and while I was closing register two boys in my grade came up to me and told me how ugly I was while laughing. Man looked me in the eye and literally said "I want you to understand how genuinely unattractive you are" lmfao. People get genuinely offended if they find you ugly trust me.
Being Pretty does kinda have a privilege. I’m in college and having a 9-5 job and I get judged on my looks all the time and get talked upon on and it’s stressful of how I get disrespected by coworkers and etc so yeah pretty privilege is real. No one can’t deny that. I’ve seen a girl in my college who was super duper pretty and etc and she was getting all the attention, she had friends and etc giving her gifts and sometimes expensive things and all I get is being shitted on and etc. it’s stressful to live in a society like this omfg.
one more thing that kinda helped me beat the "i need to be pretty or im worthless" mentality is the fact that literally nobody cares?? like everyone is so preoccupied with themselves that no matter how hard to try to please them it's literally not gonna happen. it's impossible to please an audience that doesn't even show up to your show tbh.

I used to be a little jealous of my sister because men would always flirt with her whenever we go out and would ignore me. I also felt protective of her because of men too. I realized those men who throw themselves at her are shallow and sleazy. Why would I want that type of attention? Enjoying a little bit of flattery is fine now and then but relying on it for self esteem isn’t good. Now I don’t care about competing with other women on looks, because beauty is subjective to everyone. There isn’t one size fits all definition on beauty. A personality with depth is more interesting especially when people grow old and lose their looks. A great personality is what keeps someone who genuinely enjoys being around you.

Hi Via, I want to share that your words speak the truth and you really helped me to see myself differently and you have changed the way I see myself and others too, especially my world view. Like you said, being pretty is not just about how you look or how others look. Its about viewing yourself as a human being that is beautiful both on the inside and out. I sincerely believe that regardless of what anyone looks like, if they have a kind personality, then they are beautiful already. People shine when they show their kind personalities, they radiate this positive energy that makes others want to be around them. Self love is also really important. Dressing the way you like, doing the things you like, and telling yourself that you are pretty just the way you are is critical to feeling pretty. I always try to tell myself that I am beautiful just the way I am. Not just me, everyone on here is a QUEEN in their own unique way. I dont know if this applies to other people, but it takes time for me to get comfortable with new people before I show them my true personality.

I wasn't pretty growing up in HS either and I wasn't into makeup and clothes until I had money. Seeing a picture of you when you're in HS compared to now, it's a huge difference. I can really see you put time into your looks and it looks nice I'm a bit jealous of you because I still don't have money. If you think you're pretty there are always someone who's prettier than you. Just don't let it get to you at a point you want to permanently change your face. Love yourself, everything different about your face is for a reason for someone special to like it.

You know what, university starts tom, even though it will be my last semester, i still was feeling very weird like the need to glow up, need to do face masks, have a new haircut, blah blah even tho when i am physically ill today, mostly because everyone in uni looks so put together and so pretty all the damn time, i often find myself thinking that i need to do all those things as well, like i don't need to be extravagant if i dont feel like it, my regular self is actually pretty. and VIAAAA thanks for this, its like a sign from universe.

Hi Via, I want to share that your words speak the truth and you really helped me to see myself differently and you have changed the way I see myself and others too, especially my world view. Like you said, being pretty is not just about how you look or how others look. Its about viewing yourself as a human being that is beautiful both on the inside and out. I sincerely believe that regardless of what anyone looks like, if they have a kind personality, then they are beautiful already. People shine when they show their kind personalities, they radiate this positive energy that makes others want to be around them. Self love is also really important. Dressing the way you like, doing the things you like, and telling yourself that you are pretty just the way you are is critical to feeling pretty. I always try to tell myself that I am beautiful just the way I am. Not just me, everyone on here is a QUEEN in their own unique way. I dont know if this applies to other people, but it takes time for me to get comfortable with new people before I show them my true personality.

tysm, i entered this video bc i wanted to have a little more encouragement and motivation, ik that i'm pretty, but lately i doubted if i really was and that hurts, because my mentality was always that i'm super beautiful, so to reach a point of distrusting it for different reasons, such as seeing a girl on social networks who the world puts on a pedestal or simply lasting from myself, and i understand that it's totally wrong, i feel pretty and i'm pretty for myself, i don't need anyone, thanks for ur video
I look back at photos from 10 years ago or 20 years ago... or 30 years ago. I didn’t realise at the time that I was doing okay. We always find someone to compare ourselves to, and lose. Always. I just compared myself, to myself, and lost!

I wasn't pretty growing up in HS either and I wasn't into makeup and clothes until I had money. Seeing a picture of you when you're in HS compared to now, it's a huge difference. I can really see you put time into your looks and it looks nice I'm a bit jealous of you because I still don't have money. If you think you're pretty there are always someone who's prettier than you. Just don't let it get to you at a point you want to permanently change your face. Love yourself, everything different about your face is for a reason for someone special to like it.
