✨To answer your questions:
- This is the cute pixel computer with catJAM: amzn.to/3Npg4bp
- The brand of the cat toilet is Toletta, I'm not sure if it's a Japan-only thing though
- I filmed this after the earthquake, after lots of cleanup😂
- The price of the moving company depends on lots of factors, how much furniture you have to move, how big of a truck you'll need, how far you're moving etc. You can contact them for a quote through their website here: bit.ly/3u7gRDc
I came right to the comment sections for the pixel computer cat JAM lol. Thank you!
I'm glad you got your tea station put back together so nicely after the earthquake!
Thank you 🙂
Tamagotchi? Lol
I really love the little shelf that you have your switch and purses hanging on... I'm always looking for a cute type of shelf or something to hang my purses on but still haven't found something I like. I doubt it's available in the States but it's so cute!!
Japan’s moving companies work with military efficiency. In the UK we get Barry and Steve over to drop the furniture down the stairs.
You have moving companies? (from the US)
@@genxrants yes! They take all your furniture and packed boxes etc, load them into a van and take them to your new home, and put everything inside your new house.
They DON'T pack/unpack for you though. They dump and go lol. They'll put furniture and boxes in the room you want, but that's it. You just hope everything makes it in one piece 🤣
I could very clearly hear this in his voice.
Any time I've ever hired anyone to help move in the States, they just send a couple of underpaid 19-year-olds with straps and a can-do attitude. Needless to say my stuff got banged up pretty bad.
Natsuki Moving Company "Wow very dropping!"
I LOVE the fact that they greeted your neighbors!! That's honestly something I would never have even considered (which sounds insensitive). 10/10 move there!
I LOVE your office set up now!! The lights are super cute with the plushie wall 😍 also tea station is amazing. Such nice lighting in your place too 👏🏻👏🏻
Isn’t it fun!! Colourful lights ftw🥳🎉💜
@@sharlainjapan where did you find the triangle lights? So cute!
That they unpack and give pointers on organization is crazy good service. It almost feels wrong how good it is.
Worth waiting for!
Was worried you wouldn’t be able to get this put out after the earthquake!
Now to stop typing and watch! 😋
It may be hilarious if the ladies at TOKYO CREATIVE were tasked with a challenge to add "a woman's touch" to the ABROAD IN JAPAN studio. 😆
The moving companies in Japan are so professional, wish we had that in my country!
OCD friendly!!
Same
agree!
@@Mwoods2272 Americans lack work ethics.
This is the THE MOST INCRDIBLE MOVING COMPANY EVER! I would pay an arm and a leg for a moving company like this in canada. I am green with envy!
I'm German and watching these guys work is sheer poetry to me!
So helpful 😭 I’m seriously considering a moving company for my next move
Omg do it girl it’s 100% worth it!
I knew you too know each other..you just moved sun 🌞
If you have furniture that’s a good idea. Otherwise I wouldn’t bother unless you’re a hoarder. I thankfully managed to get rid of unnecessary stuff when I moved the third time.
I would LOVE to see you two collab!!
Sharla, this is the most amazing moving story ever. I'm in NYC and suddenly have dreams of starting a moving company with that level of service. It's so thorough and well done.
I actually had the same thought but than here in the Netherlands 😂
@@SkribbleNL no one else is doing it, we can do a collab, call it New Amsterdam Movers, LOL!
@@SkribbleNL if you do, bring it to The Hague as well! 😆
@@SkribbleNL Please do it! I'd hire you
You would go bankrupt in no time because no one would be willed to pay for the level of service they get
I saw Rachel and Jun's video when they had them help move last time and I loved watching them work. It's so nice to see, and kinda made be jealous that we don't have something like that here in the US.
I was thinking of Rachel and Jun's moving video as well. Totally jealous. No one yelling "Pivot!" ;)
LOL...was thinking of replying the same thing:)
I thought that was the same company Rachel and Jun used! Glad it wasn't just me who thought that.
The 0123 is great! When we were moving from one city to another here in Okinawa, we called up a couple companies for quotes. The 0123 guy showed up in person and the other company called us and it just so happened that the other people called at the exact time the 0123 guy was there. They had a price battle in real time in front of us until we finally started to feel bad that the price was getting so low and ended up just going with The 0123. They did the same thing with covering the walls and all that and the experience was great. My wife and I felt bad about how little they ended up charging us after that price battle so we made sure that the movers had stuff to drink (they wouldn't accept tips) and tried to help them as much as we could.
too funny, thanks for sharing lol
good customer testimony like yours is potentially worth much more than the money they lost or the amount of tip you would have given
What a good and funny story! 😆
I admire Japanese bathrooms like this all the time. The tub fills automatically, keeps the water at a set temperature, and clothes can be dried without the whole place getting moldy. Where I live (in Hungary), in older and smaller apartments, it is a serious problem that the bathroom is too humid, cannot be well ventilated, and gets moldy, but often there is no terrace to dry clothes. I honestly dream of somehow installing a similar system once I have my own place.
well for 1500$... yeah. A lot of ppl live in 500$ apartments that has all stuff you described.
Such a cute place! Love all that sunlight that comes in the living room 🌞
And I need that little narrow pull-out spice drawer, omg.
I didn’t notice it was there for the longest time! Was so happy when I found it😆
The crossover I never knew I needed! /waves
This apartment looks super cosy~
I just want to say it's great to see you're still making content and to see how far you've come! This is such a beautiful home. Also want to say thank you, because if not for you I would've never had the desire to live in Japan. I'm glad I got to meet you briefly when I studied in Tokyo. Later on, I lived and worked in Kansai. I just returned to America after 5 years there and I appreciate that experience I had, so thanks for being a part of it.
Peep that Olaplex!
Also.... it just occurred to me that I need a glasses collection (instead of running around blind always looking for my one pair).
More importantly, so flippin cute!! Adorably cozy.
I know right? I'm so in love with her collection of glasses and she inspired me to do something similar, I have to wear glasses all day so it's helpful. Those heart-shaped glasses were so freaking cute! .. and her new appartment looks really cozy and all that sunlight is amazing, much better than the last one.
I mean your apartment is nice and cozy but I am baffled by the way the moving company handled the process.
That was handled so professionally! Especially the gift for the neighbours, so cool!
Other moving companies overseas need to write that down lol
I had the most horrible first time moving experience hiring a company in my country (the US), costing me an “arm and a leg”. Never hiring a company here again! Wish we had that process here! Just watching it was so refreshing!! So glad you have such a nice place sharla 😍 I’ve been watching your channel for years and I’m glad you’re in a nice place and healthy as well!
Exact same experience for me. First time hired someone to moved from Florida to OH . Cost an arm and a leg plus I get broken items and my desk top was broken further at New York . ( Bec I have to store my belongings until I got a place ). How this happened when it was packed in front of me . I never got reimbursed. I will never hired anyone to moved my things in USA. Bad, bad experience plus my quotes changes when I paid out front ( after I was recommended to pick btw two cost ( weights). )
We were packed and moved by Japanese 6 times. Not a thing was broken, lost, zero damage. And they took away the boxes. Work ethic in Japan is incredible.
Good lord. Every time I've moved, I've done it all by myself in a single day with almost no sleep. What a dream it would be to have a service like this take care of everything.
Did they have to use an extra truck for all the tea?
moving the tea storage took 3 days out of 5
Hi sharla! I have been watching your video for years and i remember one of the first apartment tour videos you made your apartment was so tiny! Its so nice to see how far long you’ve come and what you have accomplished 😊 congrats! 🎉
Aww I remember the first one🥲 I actually didn’t show you guys the tiniest apartment I lived in in University, wish I did!
Same! It's been a great journey to see how well Sharla has done and it's been a pleasure to watch and support her! 👏👏👏
I, too, have been watching for many years and remember the tiny apartment.
Your home is freaking adorable, I love all of it. Also, this is crazy I have been a subscriber for EIGHT YEARS GIRL. How has time passed so quickly????? I'm 29 now, I started tuning in when I was a BABY 21 year old. I love you Sharla, thanks for being a happy little part of my life for this long. I love your apartment and all the cat accents, when I saw Maro had his own cupboard I felt the urge to reorganize mine to make an area dedicated to my cats (I have 4, so how have I not done this 😂 it would help so much, thanks for the inspo)
Also WOW at Japan's moving service, I need someone to do this for my life. In the US, movers steal things lol. When I was a kid, one of our movers stole my giant Godzilla toy. Soul crushing for an 11 year old.
@@fangfang.boogie Damn what kind of monster steals a Godzilla toy from a kid, hopefully karma got them!
This is why I love Japan lol. Everyone is so polite and considerate. I had no idea that so much goes into moving. It is very considerate of the moving company to apologize to the neighbors for the inconvience. It is also amazing how they took such care for Sharla's stuff. I can't wait to move to Japan one day. It is videos like this that make me excited to expirience living in Japan first-hand.
Just moved two months ago and man, I wish they had this service in the US! Me and my boyfriend were definitely close to hurting our backs with all the heavy lifting. Japan is ahead of our time here 😂
3:15 oh my gosh that plate box is everything.
Also Maro is so cute 😍😍✨✨✨
5:00 how that umbrella stand fits is so satisfying.
6:42 that switch holder is also so satisfying
10:29 the way Maro rolls 😍😍😍😭😭✨😍❤️
15:13 that bath is gorgeous!!
I love your new place. It’s adorable!! Love the whole aesthetic. So cute!! ✨✨✨🥰🥰❤️
I'm from Denmark and I just had to move houses. My moving men were REALLY professional, but that was NOTHING compared to this level!! I am still astonished by new things I learn about Japan.
I kept getting mesmerized by those wall lights in the background.
I’m glad you were able to upload this despite what’s going on. The new place looks wonderful! (So envious of Japanese moving companies for real. looks so seemless)
I will forever be awestruck at how efficient and detailed Japanese moving companies are, this one at least, seen several videos about them and they REALLY go the extra mile.
Honestly the care and attention Japanese moving companies show is insane. I don't know many businesses in the UK that would go this far for customer satisfaction
I moved 7 times over 10 years while living in London. The concept of moving stresses me out beyond words, I have nightmares about it XD I just can't believe the calm and serene vibes I got from watching this moving company doing their thing, I bet they could pack /me/ up with the furniture and it'd still be a great experience lol Seriously, they seem amazing! And so does the house 🥰
Your videos are always so well produced, the editing, the music choices, even the shooting style is just really nice. Your style is pretty different from, say Chris for example. He does a lot of static or walking shots, usually in big chunks. You do a lot of sweeping shots, and you mix it up pretty frequently - it's nice on the eyes.
I don't think you have a writing desk, I think you have a glasses desk you write at haha
Maro's shopping cart bed is so cute! And i love your Boo sweater.
I love how thorough Japanese moving companies are. I haven’t found one this thorough in the area where I live. Really love your new place! Love all the sunshine and I can tell Maro already fell in love with it. Your office is by far my favorite room too 💖
The apartment looks so cozy, I love the window seats. I also noticed the Complete Hungarian book on the shelf, I hope you enjoy studying it. Greetings from Budapest!
That moving company really went above and beyond, It just feels like a invaluable service WOW! I never thought there ever a way that makes moving so much smoother and less stressful
I’m not the most organized person, so seeing your apartment so clean and tidy is really nice. I hope things are ok for you after the recent Earthquake!
For the spices, I highly recommend the magnetic spice containers that you can put on your fridge. They usually come with labels and then you can see all your spices in one place and free up some cupboard space. Hope that helps.
this i have one in my tiny apartment studio apartment and i love it and it totally helps with the space issue
The bath alone sold it for me! Wish I could find a place with a tub like that.
I have to say, I prefer this style of apartment/house tour with just subtitles, and properly planned and filmed footage. I don't know why I haven't seen anyone do this before.
That moving company experience looks awesome... it's weird to think of someone other than a bunch of sweaty college kids who don't really want want be there chucking your stuff around, trying to just go as fast as they can.
That was incredible! What amazing service they provided. Wish every country did that. When we moved, some of the stuff got damaged, and damage was done to the previous property because of the movers. Had to fork out extra money for that.
I'm so happy to see you have emergency food, Sharla! So many people don't bother keeping anything on hand for emergencies. The average person only has a few days of food on hand at best, and most grocery stores only have 2-3 days worth of food on hand at a given time. I feel like EVERYONE should have at the very least a week of food in their house at all times, if not 30 days. Even keeping a 25-pound of 50-pound bag of rice on hand can get a family through a rough time.
76 year old in Joliet Illinois USA and your apt looks great! Love your videos!
Thank you so much :D
We need moving companies like that in the US! Love the apartment. It has so much space and storage. All the natural light is amazing too
What a cute apartment!! Glad they moved all your stuff for you and supplied all the boxes! :) 5 days of packing and Marie Kondo decluttering? That’s so nice that they protected all the walls too! Attention to detail! Maro looks perplexed by the movers!
Loved the tour! So enjoy your videos Sharla!!! 💜🥰
Moving house is so stressful and leaves me wiped out for weeks whereas your experience looked AMAZING. Yet another example of Japanese cultural differences where we can learn alot 🙂 I'm always impressed at how chilled Maro appears - we had to hide our cat in the bathroom when the movers arrived as she would have freaked out. Hi from Australia 🇦🇺 xx
I don't know what amazes me the most: the moving service, or Maro's own cupboard section. I absolutely loved this video ♥️
me and one of my lap kitties enjoyed this immensely! we also have an entire cupboard dedicated to the little floofs and it's starting to look a bit like a pet store >.
Looks great Sharla. You've come such a long way. Here's to many more years of Japan goodness.
What an amazing apartment! Thanks for showing us! I love your videos! 😊
Yayyy, been waiting for this!! I love that you gave us a tour during the daytime with all the amazing natural light, but I bet your apartment must look amazing at nighttime too.
So cool to see this process in action! This is my first time seeing any real moving video in Japan from one place to another. Great video!
Love your videos! Just wanted to say that you pick the best music for them! My baby is a horrible sleeper, but the past couple of times, she's fallen asleep listening to it while I watch the video.
Aww that’s so cute haha. Check out the music channel Daystar! Lots of relaxing music on there she might like :)
I love this apartment. It's so sweet and you really decorated it beautifully!
The packing and unpacking process is amazing I’ve never seen anything like it. They take so much pride in their work 👍🏻
I absolutely love your new office. The lighting is fantastic! I think this place has been one of my favorites so far!
Love the apartment tour! It’s so cozy. ☺️
Such a lovely apartment. So cozy!
my heart is so full for you. this place looks amazing! and your new camera quality is a+
What a beautiful new place! Looks so cosy and the vibe cat on the Divoom Ditoo is a vibe in itself! 🐈
It looks so lovely! There's so much charm and character in your apartment. Great video!!
Wow, so well done Sharla! As always, Thank You for opening your home to us like this. The umbrella stand was so satisfying!
Notification squad 🎉
Always a good day with a new Sharla video💕
Loved the bg music, so calming while watching the tour. The layout of the apartment is super nice, and I love the setup. The mini wooden drawers with holes are so cute!
What a cute, cozy place! You always decorate your apartments so well. Also, very jealous of the tea collection.
What a beautiful place! There's so much space and it looks super cozy! 💕
I love how Maro has his own toys, facilities and storage. so cute!!
What a beautiful space!! It's so functional too. A cat's paradise with all those windows, Maro can gaze down at all the peasants below her 😅 That Japanese moving company has me really dreading a future move because I know I will never get anything close to that level of service in Canada 😂
@@Mwoods2272 If you know of a moving company in Canada who will do all that and bring tissues to my neighbours and apologize to them, please send me their contact info because I've never heard of such a wonderful thing here 😂
Great tour!!
I LOVE your apartment interior design and organization! It’s so cute and comfy!
Damn that's a really nice apartment! I'm always used to seeing people tour their really tiny apartments so this was cool to see how much space you have for activities! Also loved snooping on your videogame collection lol.
Great apartment Sharla, love the floor rug in the living room. Japan has many great services. I once had live clams and strawberries shipped from Sendai to Saitama service was awesome. Clams fresh and alive.
Love your kitchen and new apartment. It seems perfect for you guys!!!
So cute and cozy!
Your apartment is great - so much storage!
I have seen Japanese movers in action (when Kimono Mom moved) - we have moved many times in Canada and also overseas, mostly good experiences, but Japanese movers are next level!
Everytime I see the moving companies in Japan I'm impressed everytime and I'm gald you were OK after the quake💜
Wow that was amazing!
I love how spacious it is and how everything has a place that makes sense. It's so satisfying 😍
Honestly LOVED watching this video. Randomly came across it, and it's so nice to see how other countries do thing, especially East Asian countries. It's honestly so amazing to see how different the culture is, and how different it is from North America, Europe, etc. This was a lovely video! :)
The little dish boxes and details of the movers setting it back up for you are next-level service!
Its such a lovely apartment! The office is amazing and the light is so nice. Maro seems to love it!
Thanks for the tour! I love your videos, just so rejuvenating to watch!🥰 love from Chicago
Having just finished playing "Unpacked", I love how we can see stuff you've moved many times, but still keep around (at least from the previous apartment to this one, not sure if I can recognize anything older than that). Congrats on the new apartment, the view must be spectacular from that window!
Edit: I LOVE THE COMPLETE HUNGARIAN BOOK! Should get one for my boyfriend :D Hope the study goes well!
In Sweden it is actually very similar, just a little more casual. You can rent movers who will take everything, but you pack yourself, and they move it then, and they use covers and stuff to make sure it is not scratched or damaged, but small damages are expected. They also make sure your previous apartment is ok, which will be checked and approved (you need to make sure it is thoroughly cleaned before you give back the keys) but some scratches and damage is written down as "normal usage" so you don't need to fix everything, it is expected that with someone living in it, some things get used up. But otherwise it is quite strict and you need to make sure you do everything, you get a checklist of what needs potential fixing, etc.
The new place looks really nice Sharla! Hope your staying safe! Love from Canada!
I absolutely adore your kitchen! First time I've seen such a big one in one of these home tours. Your tea station is to die for
I’ve been excited for this apartment tour for so long! Sending love from your French-American traveling friends! 🇫🇷🇺🇸 (PS-SO glad that you’re back to Japan and healthier!) 😘
…And glad you’re OK after the earthquake! We need to replenish your tea collection! 😭😘😘
We used the same moving company, had a great experience but it was definitely unique. Thank you for this awesome apartment tour!
Your hair looks amazing btw.
Thanks for the tour! ⭐️
Your apartment is so cute and well put together! Love the pics of you and Taylor on the fridge!
I had also a good moving experience here in The Netherlands. The guys looked like from a football club but were all friendly and packed the big stuff nicely and even placing my stuff. Not as well organized cause I had to pack everything myself but they were really good. Of course in Japan it looks really and always well organized. So great movers! Hope you are happy in your new home!
The amount I would pay for those movers...
It is probably that amount....and some!
Those guys are amazing!
Love your kitchen rug!
gives me a lot of inspiration on how to decorate my appartment here in Japan. 😊
I think I'm in love with your living room 🥲It looks so cozy and the sunlight that drops on the fuzzy carpet is just amazing 🥺 I also love that your kitchen has a sliding door so the cooking smells don't enter the living room. Usualy small apartments don't have that divide but yours does. Those sliding doors are such a simple but effective solution.
Lovely stuff!
