I’ve been around cats for 61 years and I've never seen one want to get into carry case before. Unfortunately for our cats it usually means a visit to the vet's. The larger ginger looked like our 22 year old we've just lost. A great concept and a very enjoyable video.
my cat liked to stay in his carrier. though his first experience was going to vet for flu treatment. I believe recovering from sickness gave him a positive perspective about carrier.
You essentially just make the carrier less of a "you're about to be taken to a horrible place", but instead as just another part of their life like their litter tray, bed, bowls, etc. If you keep the carriers to just the rare occasion which is always bad for them then they will assosiate the carrier with bad things.
@@skylarkblue1 No matter how long you’ve been around cats there’s always something new to learn. It sounds stupid saying it but I hadn’t even considered this approach before seeing it on RUclips. I knew about the benefits of a massager, baking soda and green tea leaves in litter, cat trees, beds, regular grooming then more recently fresh food and cleaning teeth etc etc. However, we simply just put their baskets away until the next time they were needed, an unbelievably daft thing to do when thinking about it.
My husband got so excited when he saw this haha he is such a cat person. They are so fricken CUTE! Curse my cat allergies! Although I wasn't allergic to your cat which was surprising. Maybe I will suffer for this hotel experience 😂
I've heard of some folks not having allergies to hairless cats. And sometimes, I've heard of people who are normally allergic to cats not being allergic to THEIR cat (but still having issues with other cats). It might be worth asking an allergy specialist about? It really sucks to be allergic to a thing (or animal) that you love, though. :(
@@crazybiogeek its the airborne dander from when the cats clean themselves, its basically like their saliva going airborne. If you brush them often, and give them the occasional bath, you're usually pretty good. I think the cats in the hotel are well groomed and taken care of, but still wouldn't hurt to take some allergy meds.
@@mbe102 Yeah, folks can be allergic to different things on cats or dogs. I've heard of some folks being allergic to saliva itself! Other folks are allergic to dander, so hairless cats/ non-shedding dogs, etc are fine. A few friends have been allergic to cats, but then start taking allergy meds and start living with a cat, and later discover they're OK with their cat and no allergy pills- they got used to their pet- but still need allergy pills for visiting different cats. Other people, like my aunt, are allergic to cats and dogs and can't really have any 'furry' pets or they'd be miserable. Allergies are super complicated and different for everyone. Sometimes, it's worth trying to find a solution and other times there really isn't a solution for that person.
The cat motel is a fantastic idea, & I l9ve how well his cats are socialised & how eagerly they interact with people. Not all çats would be like this, so he's got a pretty good crew together. I would have loved cat visitors in some of the places I've stayed at - lol! Not sold on flushable cat litter though.
I have never had any cats that go in their carrier that fast. Usually it takes chasing them around the house and a fight to get them in. Amazing cat hotel!
it's honestly really easy to crate train a cat. just leave the crate out, open, and let them get used to it and going in/going out/etc. feed them and give them treats in there and they'll see it as a good thing. the only time my cat is in her crate anymore is to go to the vet (it's the only place she really goes tbh, don't really take her many places) and she STILL puts herself in her crate, even knowing what it means, because for the first few months that i had her i fed her exclusively in her crate and it became a safe space for her (funnily enough she put herself back in the crate at the vet when we were done, too, the last time we went to the vet - the vet was amused lol). also, get a crate that has a top door if you have cats! i can't recommend it enough, especially for cats that aren't crate trained and need to be taken to the vet.
@@ThreadBomb treats, feeding, letting them have the freedom to wander in and out, and just desensitizing them to it all helps them to see it as something that isn't confinement so much as it's a safe space.

You were NOT overselling this when you said it was the absolute best hotel in the entire world. I want to visit this town literally just so I can stay there.
What I really like is, that the cats are really comfortable. They show no sign of stress and are just playfully and relaxed. That only shows that they have fun with their 'job' and get good treatment. Also I really like the idea of the owner that this is a place for people who want to take care of a cat but want to know how it is beforehand.
This is awsome! The owner seems to be such a good person! He heard of the problem with ppl abandoning cats, and he does what he can to help by educating people instead of shaming/punishing! The cats start meowing loudly when they hear him in the morning, that says it all... Love from Finland! ❤🇫🇮🇦🇽
What that guy is doing to help people get to experience living with a cat before committing to ownership is freaking amazing! What an awesome concept. He is saving cats' lives. 😻
The owner is definitely amazing, you can tell how well he treats the cats just from their behavior and the fact that they get into the carriers right away! The idea in general is great
I've seen so many people abandon their dogs when they become, "too much hassle" for them. This cat hotel is such a good idea! It could save so many loving pets.
We need this in USA, seems like Japan loves cats and dogs more..just letting animals roam freely in hotels, motels etc...I wish more Americans cared for animals like that...anyone get where I'm coming from?

I think that's great. When people adopt cats they generally just let you hang out with them for a few minutes before you can take the cat home. I take care of stray and feral cats which is a big problem in the US. This idea should be adopted here.

Not to mention some animals also have shelter, receive food and care as well. Animals can be friends too, not just food.
I cannot imagine the amount of work that went into the training, to have all the cats to be so friendly/relaxed around people and ready to travel to different rooms. I'm amazed 😅
I don't think any training was done. The cats have learned that they go into the carrier and when they go to the room there's going to be a human that's going to play with and love the heck out of them! They've learned that (in the morning) they go back in their carrier and then they get something to eat!
@@nevaehlumiere5418 yep, I agree, the cats do what they do because it gets what they want. Cats can be noisy! My cat was quiet, so then 6 months in started yowling in the morning to let you know it's time to be fed. Or if she's been fed, standing by the bathroom door and yowling to get you to shower so she can drink the water on the floor.
Haha....yes my cats follow me every morning to the bathroom to drink water from the shower......even they having water in their bowl, .....gess they just want to be in the bathroom with me.
It’s because Japanese beds are put away during the day to give you more space in the room (like a Murphy bed). So they couldn’t make the bed for you without it taking up most of the floor. It does have that fun bonus of letting you play with the cats (which was great to see).
Mine goes in happily. It is a cat back pack with a cool bubble viewing window. She actually plays in it at home. I take her for walks in it. Mind you, haven't taken her in it to the vet yet.
Update on my cat's back pack: I had the furnace/vent cleaning company in this past week. My cat was freaking over the sound and tried squishing between the couch and the wall. I brought out her backpack and opened it. She ran right into it and felt safe.
most people a cat carrier means the vet, thats why cats hate it. Our cat hates the vet so bad he stresses himself out terribly, and poops himself and spreads it all over himself. Then at the vet he needs to get cleaned before they examine him. Nothing smells worse than a cat that smeared crap all over itself. Thing is he holds still for the vet, he just seems to hate the journey the most.
This place looms SOO cool!! I want to visit!! I love how they want to go in their carriers. It means they are not afraid and are well taken care of. Such sweet kitties!
When I stayed in Fuerteventura, Spain there were a lot of cats in the garden of the hotel and I left the balcony door open (ground-floor) so there was always 1 or sometimes 2 that came inside to sleep next to me, it made my holiday much better. I love to travel but always miss my own cats very much.
What a slice of heaven! Cats deserve a much better reputation than what they've been given. If I only I could save all homeless animals. THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS.

We had 3 cats... we're down to 1 now, but hopefully one of the other cats will come back soon. The other one will be going back and forth between our home and fiance's parent's home.

Many cats are naturally quite nervous, but once they trust you they can be extremely loyal. My cat Maro follows me around the house and cries when I’m out of his sight😅💖
You just have to remember that a cat is both a predator & a prey animal. So their body language is quite a bit different from dogs. They're always watching to see if something is going to eat them. As well as watching for prey. Give them a bit of space & they'll warm up. Just don't get in their face until more aquainted. But if you want a more outgoing & doglike cat go for a main coon. They're even known play fetch. Although they are quite a bug cat. Up to 20 pounds.
A lot of people seem to think so untill they actually meet a cat or live with one haha they're precious little creatures and the fact that when they start trusting you they come to cuddle with you a lot is so cute❤

@@kimberlyoldschool 7/11 in Japan is so insanely and amazingly different compared to other countries it would blow your mind! I’ve been around cats for 61 years and I've never seen one want to get into carry case before. Unfortunately for our cats it usually means a visit to the vet's. The larger ginger looked like our 22 year old we've just lost.
A great concept and a very enjoyable video.
61 years wow 😦
my cat liked to stay in his carrier. though his first experience was going to vet for flu treatment.
I always left my carriers out so they can sleep in it. However, the kitten kept going potty in the carrier and I had to put it away
Its actually pretty smart, having your cats feed in a cat-crate, trains them to associate it as a good thing and makes transportation easy.

Or and I know, crazy thought, it's because no one is traveling?
Even the cats in Japan are disciplined and have manners! 😻
Yes
Hello
Thats because they are trained, not because they are Japanese
😂
I have never had any cats that go in their carrier that fast. Usually it takes chasing them around the house and a fight to get them in. Amazing cat hotel!
That's cos they knew they were in for a good time, not a trip to the vet's.
They would be specifically trained to do it. Probably start by putting treats in the cages, then give them the treat after they get in the cage.
I would love to see a tutorial from the owner on how he trained the cats to go into the carriers!
it's honestly really easy to crate train a cat. just leave the crate out, open, and let them get used to it and going in/going out/etc. feed them and give them treats in there and they'll see it as a good thing. the only time my cat is in her crate anymore is to go to the vet (it's the only place she really goes tbh, don't really take her many places) and she STILL puts herself in her crate, even knowing what it means, because for the first few months that i had her i fed her exclusively in her crate and it became a safe space for her (funnily enough she put herself back in the crate at the vet when we were done, too, the last time we went to the vet - the vet was amused lol). also, get a crate that has a top door if you have cats! i can't recommend it enough, especially for cats that aren't crate trained and need to be taken to the vet.
@@ThreadBomb treats, feeding, letting them have the freedom to wander in and out, and just desensitizing them to it all helps them to see it as something that isn't confinement so much as it's a safe space.
you can tell the cats are so well treated because they just are so excited to meet their friends so they just jump in the cat carrier aweee
