    battery fully charged is 53.8. bike dies after a short ride if i leave the battery on the bike. tested it and was 52.7 . took it out and waited one day put back in and the controller says ok. waited another day and tried to ride. it went about one block. check voltage and it was down to 23.7. what may be causing the battery to lose so much wattage when on the bike. nothing is turned on. a puzzle for me can you sggest some ideas befor i take to the shop. thanks in advance.

    Great video.
    I stumbled into something i cant put my finger on.
    My old stepdad has a 48v electric scooter with a built-in electric gage working more as a compass. In orher words he cant see how much power is left in battery.
    So i bought him a digital gage and when i measured where i could attached (near headlight) this digital gage my UNI-T voltmeter showed 53.6v while the gage showed 47.6v
    Its a bit confusing since i've now tought stepdad to watch a 48v chart i added in his android phone to easy see how how many % is left.. but..
    That chart dont "match" what the new gage is showing.. because if i check the new gage and then check the chart it would mean his battery would almost be empty..
    What am i doing wrong..?

    i get 0 charge on the multimeter what is that supose to mean ?
    my battery is not charged since it wont charge..

    I just bought another e-bike and on this one it does not have the voltmeter on the display, I did buy a voltmeter so I should set it on 200 volts to check a 48 volt battery? Thank you for your information

      Hello,
      That is correct. Charge your battery to 100% (Green light on your charger) and it should read roughly 54V or higher at full.

    mine shows 55.5v on a full charge(48v battery)
    should I be worried? the bike display shows the voltage all over the place as well, going from 52v-55v when idling

      Since your inexperienced to this kind of stuff. No you should not be worried, it's only voltage sag. The battery drops power when you accelerate or when you start losing battery life after short or long rides on your EV. Hope you understood after 10 days of posting your comment.

    My meter has DCV (max 500v.), ACV (max 500v.) and battery setting (max. 12v.) Which one should I use?

      Hello,
      You'll want to choose DCV as batteries measure in DC voltage.
      Battery setting doesn't work for eBikes because the batteries range from 36V-52V which is out of the 12V maximum setting on your multimeter.

    i bought a new ebike suppose do 87miles to the charge i know nerver do that but its only doing 40miles and am only useing pas1 all the time waiting for a mulimeter to test the battery what eles could be the problem the place i got it keep saying because of the cold weather but not by over 50percent too much i have other ebikes and they fine

      The number given is under ideal conditions which NEVER occurs in real life. The pavement isn't flat, there are hills, there is wind blowing, your tires may be a bit under-inflated, and cold weather will dramatically cut your mileage, yes. On PAS 1, though, that sounds like high reduction JUST from cold weather.
      I would never expect even near the range advertised in real world conditions. Tire inflation makes a big difference. I under-inflate them in winter.
      I never use PAS 1 because for me the bike is too heavy to pedal. 40 miles is what I get when going 20 mph in PAS 4 or 5 with 48V 17 Ah battery in nice weather.

    Does the battery have to be fully charged?

      Hi Angelino, we recommend fully charging your battery before doing a voltage test.

      No it doesn't have to be fully charged. Checking voltage with a meter is a good way of getting an idea of where your battery charge state is, Especially when you don't have a volt gage on your display just battery bars - You can actually work out roughly what voltage each bar lands at by testing the battery at each section (fun tip lol).
