    Hi! Thanks for this video. Just a little question. Is the charger plugged to current while you test it? The battery needs to be on, right? What if I get sparks when using the tester? Hope you can give me advice.

    At one point it sounds like you're saying the charger is good, at another point it sounds like you're saying it's a poor charger. Please enlighten me.
    Also, I see the numbers reach 054.6, but I hear you say, 55,.then you say 46. My multimeter starts with 00.0, yours starts with 000.0.
    When I just checked a brand new,. unused 24 volt charger I got 03.7. Should I read that as 3.7 volts or 37 volts?
    Thanks!

      On some systems there is heating monitoring of the battery and the charger takes a signal back from an NTC thermistor. Sometimes this is hidden in sep cct within the frame of the bike. Measuring heat build up in Li ION batteries is critical.. no mafr wants to tell the User how he does it so it's harder to buy any other charger. TE Fidler NzL

    This video Demo on using a voltmeter for battery testing will be helpful for those without electrical testing experience. However, Not mentioned here is the battery mount plate that is attached to the bike! If good battery but no power to the motor that part could be the root cause. If testing just that adapter plate remove the battery and use the resistance (ohms) feature in your DMM (Digital Multi- Meter). Good luck!

    When checking the prongs (4 or 5 pin) you have to check more than just the + and - you have to check the prongs in between as well as they have wires (green, red, yellow) and they can be easily separated from the prong as these wires are really thin. They all should have same voltage except for the green ground wire which should carry very little voltage.

    • @craigduncan4826
      @craigduncan4826 3 года назад

      The battery or charger is dead.
      Or you have wired the test leads incorrectly or the meter you’re using is broken.
      I would test the meter by connecting it to your local AC mains supply as an example to confirm that it reads a voltage.
      Or get a battery like AA battery and measure across both ends of the battery for DC voltage and verify the same.
