Conway did a beautiful job of singing this song. It just touched your heart when you hear him sing it.You could see that he was singing from the bottom of his heart. He was dressed to fit the occassion that night. He looked like what he was a gentleman.
Dunno if you guys gives a shit but if you're bored like me atm then you can watch all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf during the lockdown xD
Conway put so much heart and feeing in the song that you can tell at the end he was almost in tears. That is true country not like the crap of today. Singers of years past put heart and emotions in their songs and that is what made them so great. I can honestly say that I can't even name most of todays singers and to hear them I can't identify who they are. Singers of years past all had unique voices that could be identified.
Conway could wrap a woman in a song just by her listening to it. He's given me chills over and over through the years.........RIP - there will never be another.......
Conway Showed Them All About Real Country And He Was A Difficult One To Follow..Very Unique Gorgeous And Gorgious Vice. A Left The Song Within, Your Heart. Could Listen To Him All Day. RIP Conway.. Love Ya ...
I would say that in the last 20 years of my life there has been a lot of changes...not to mention moving away from my home town and then back again. But, this song has such a special meaning to mean each and every time that I hear Conway's voice. He has a way of literally pulling your emotions and releasing the pain from deep inside you that you're trying to hide. I have performed many of his songs in the last 40 years and always get a lot of complements, but the true credit goes to him. RIP
I love Conway Twitty. His voice, his music and the passion he put into songs make you believe every word he sings is true. He is the voice of true country music. I love his song Good By Time. Some people have tried to do cover songs buy they don't match up to him. The only one close was Blake Shelton in his early years.
This song is still one of my favorites, it has my whole wrapped up into one, if you wanna go, just go, just leave me to pick up the pieces. I will make it..what doesn't kill you, only makes you stronger..
He's so hot! I have seen him many times. Two times specifically, I won't ever forget. Once at the Longhorn Ballroom in Dallas. Seemed like two hours of non-stop #1's. The ladies in the house never sat down. So many roses delivered to the stage that night it was unimaginable. Second time, we saw him it was with T.G. Sheppard, him and Loretta. T.G. came out and sang for an hour, then Loretta came out and sang for an hour and then Conway came out and sang for an hour and then him and Loretta sang for an hour. By far, the best concert I ever attended.
@rockyrmt - I am glad that Jones "Lived to tell it all" - if he had died look at all the years of wonderful music we would have missed out on. I think he did his best work in his 60's. It just makes you wonder about the way of things. Could you even imagine how many more great songs Conway would have cranked out?
When I listen to Harold Jenkins,"Conway Twitty", somehow I get lost between the love for the man and his music and the hate of Nashville. To march out pretenders such as Rucker, Swift, Brown and the list goes on, and call them country! It is an insult to this man. Not only to Conway but to Merle, Keith, Willie, Waylon, Buck, shall I go on? You get my point. I didn' t really care for Hank Sr, great song writer.Jr was just a bad ass outlaw country boy. The 3rd is just a vulgar joke. Real country
@rockyrmt - I've seen Jones a half a dozen times. First time was in 1985, last time was in 2004. The shows he put on in the 1990's were the best in my opinion. In all the times I seen him I can honestly say that he was not visibly intoxicated at any of them.I got lucky I guess. I actually met Jones on several occasions when I started working at the Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling. I seen Conway in 1991 and I am sure glad I went. He sang his heart out! He had such an impressive talent.
@wabamlol - Thanks- guess I just wish Conway hadn't had his "Goodbye Time". Conway is gone, Waylon, Johnny, Lefty, Hank, Buck...all gone. When the few remaining superstars such as Jones, Willie, and Ray Price are gone that will be "Goodbye Time" for Country music.
Oh how I Love this song & the man singing it! 😍🎶 Conway Twitty “Harold Lloyd Jenkins” you are so Loved & Missed Dearly by one of your biggest fans! 😢💔 R.I.P. 💙🙏🏻
Conway wouldn't touch drugs, never fell into the same abusive ways as many of his peers. He watched his health, took care of himself, and passed away young- Its just so wierd the way things go. Someone like George Jones would go weeks without eating, smoked like a chimney for 60 years, abused alcohol beyond what many could even imagine for 40 SOLID years, then snorted 1500 dollars worth of cocaine A DAY- FOR YEARS- and he is still out there today doing his thing.
I'd rate the top 5 in country like this: 1) Hank Jr. 2) Conway Twitty 3) George Jones 4) Travis Tritt 5) Waylon Jennings Honorable mention: Marty Stuart, Jimmie Rodgers and Ernest Tubb

So well stated.
Miss him sorely.

That is the funny part of life. It is a mystery. Look at Jerry Lee Lewis. He outlived all of them and he was the wildest cat ever.
