I rewatch this almost every year--and each year I always have a week or two where I just have a craving for eggs, all because of THAT episode.
I grew up with the original show, and after a friend got me into Ghost Game my nostalgia made me remember how much of a banger this song was!

@cheeseoh german version is just an adoatation of the original version (japanese) wich is gold not just as an anime song but as a indeoendent song, spain and latinamerica also have this version wich us hundreads of times better

Literally english version change almost completly the intro, the original intro (in jaoanese, latin spanish or any other languaje is gold, why did they do this whit tahta amazing oppening?

I'll be honest if they remastered Digimon I feel like it would do better the next time around.
Don't know if i understood your comment correctly, but they did a 1st season remaster/remake of Digimon. Look for "Digimon Adventure 2020" and took your own opinions - it's the same story with the same group group in a very similar adventure in its core, but they have adapted some things in the show that some new viewers loved and some old fans not so much, so i guess it don't did SO better (even without the Pokemon fever at its highest to compete).

Nah, it rules. Anyone expecting a well-written song from an English translation of an anime that ran in the 90's is a fool. And sure, there are animes from that era that have amazing intros and outros that can stand on their own as great songs, but the simple point of this theme is the catchy-ness and they nail it. People love this song, that doesn't mean they think it deserves some kind of award.
