I had never watched the original Japanese Adventure until a few years ago, and barely knew this song. Now, despite only having it in my life for such a short amount of time, Butter-Fly is already so intensely powerful and nostalgic. I hope Wada-san knows the impact he's made on the world, even years after he left. Happy Odaiba Day.
I watched Digimon with spanish dub (the voices are in spanish, but the songs, thank god, are the same as in the japanese version) and this song, along many others, is pure nostalgia and always makes me chill. Idk if the same happens to you with the (I guess, sorry if not) american dub, personally way worse but of course it is since it's not the one I watched. Have a nice day, and thanks, Wada-san!

The German dub even went for German covers of the songs, and they are just wonderful and give that same nostalgic feeling and are absolute anime-song classics in the German community, especially Butter-Fly, or "Leb' deinen Traum" (eng. "live your dream"), as the German version is called.
@@Max_G4 The Spanish version also covered the original song (Both Latin American and European Spanish did), the other comment must've meant they didn't change it to completely new songs. Actually, your description of the german version of the song is quite similar to the spanish ones, where they are one of the most beloved anime classics in their respective communities.
I really wish there was a good, legal way to own Adventure and for that matter all of the other series in sub form. I love the dub but I would really love having the option.

Yeah, i had to watch Tamers on latin spanish and it is really weird. It is a good dub for the important parts of the series but.... It says a lot of stuff that kinda makes no sense in other languages and in many spanish variants

Reusable characters were before Digimon :P But i dont think u need very original characters to attract a child xD it was so easy to relate with the personalities of the main characters cause they were simple, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. The digimon trait were focused on adding a bit of humor, with their hunger, ignorance and bad jokes xD for a child, keeping it simple isnt a bad thing at all. At that age, we didnt saw anything like digimon anyway xD Some would say pokemon was the same, but while pokemon was a story about a child who LEFT HIS HOME to live an adventure in a wonderful world, Digimon was a story about a group of childs who WERE KIDNAPPED into a terrible world and had to live an adventure in order to survive and find their way back home, i'd say they'r totally different xD Digimon was the first isekai i ever saw xD

38 here. Digimon got me out of my Pokemon obsession when i was 11 or 12. The fact that it actually had a real plot just hooked me, and the plot itself reeled me in. Been a fan ever since. 😊 Just got Discotek Media's bluray release in the mail from rightstuf, and life is good. It's even the Japanese version of the show. 😊

As a 26 year old and finished watching all of the main series and movies, it made me feel like a kid again. To think something like this was made when I was a child and only knew about it vaguely until last year. This song will always be treasured, thank you Koji Wada for being awesome. Keeping the Japanese music just wasn't a thing back then, especially in children's shows. Just the fact that they didn't hide the fact that the kids were Japanese and kept the Japanese place names alone was pretty crazy for a kids show from back then.
@@Dubanx Honesty, in many ways Digimon Adventure was kind of revolutionary when it was released in the States, because of how few regional changes they made. They didn't really change the names (going from say Yamato to Matt isn't really a big deal to me), they didn't change the locations, they didn't call sushi hamburgers (looking at you Sailor Moon).
germany kinda did. we got our own version but its based on the original. i would reconmend listening to it even though you probably wont understand because its as awesome as the original. its called leb deinen traum if you are interested.

Indeed but in 1999, I was still thinking that the Pokemon anime was superior to Digimon. It took me a year or two to realize that Digimon was the superior anime. Pokemon overall imo is still the superior series because of its legendary games but the main anime sucks balls.
I'm still in my teens, but Digimon took a bit to grow on me cause I was a huge Pokemon fan. Picked up Cyber Sleuth a couple days before the New Year, and I fell in love with the franchise more than I expected. All the music including this song feel inspiring to me. Thank you, Digimon! The sub was on Netflix a long time ago. Funimation had 02 and Crackle used to have Tamers.

38 here. Digimon got me out of my Pokemon obsession when i was 11 or 12. The fact that it actually had a real plot just hooked me, and the plot itself reeled me in. Been a fan ever since. 😊
Just got Discotek Media's bluray release in the mail from rightstuf, and life is good. It's even the Japanese version of the show. 😊

I chalk it up to the 90s wanting yo be different and more electronic while I love the digirap it's Def a product of the times that Said the tamers ver that goes fir a more metal sound works very well as well as the entire soundtrack to frontier imo being better then the original
Keeping the Japanese music just wasn't a thing back then, especially in children's shows.
Just the fact that they didn't hide the fact that the kids were Japanese and kept the Japanese place names alone was pretty crazy for a kids show from back then.
@@Dubanx Honesty, in many ways Digimon Adventure was kind of revolutionary when it was released in the States, because of how few regional changes they made. They didn't really change the names (going from say Yamato to Matt isn't really a big deal to me), they didn't change the locations, they didn't call sushi hamburgers (looking at you Sailor Moon).

Indeed but in 1999, I was still thinking that the Pokemon anime was superior to Digimon. It took me a year or two to realize that Digimon was the superior anime. Pokemon overall imo is still the superior series because of its legendary games but the main anime sucks balls.
