Hi
Cool Rocks there beautiful the rocks I found weren’t that good ,lol
Hey!
Appropriations pPO
?
This is why I love Duluth Minnesota
Its the best!
@@AgateDad I've left Duluth a handful of times over 40yrs but I always end up back home. I found some beauties in cloquet today
Thats awesome!!
Yes, love gravel roads...I find lots of wonders. I have 1 road that is my "petoskey" favorite.
That feeling when you discover an agate....
And then turn it over to find it's even more remarkable 💗
Seriously the best!
Ha, what, are you trying to copy me, forgetting both your spray bottle and your bag?! Great hunt, Taylor - thank you!
Haha I was just so excited to get out that I forgot pretty much everything!
Gravel road hunts are awesome fun. ❤ Thanks, Taylor!
Geez! You find some awesome Agates... definitely go back there 👍
Will do! Ive been spotting a bunch of potential good agate spots to stop at 👍
Absolutely love how you display the agates so pretty
That was a great gravel road! Beautiful agates!
Thanks!
Love the agates! Great finds!
Thanks Margie!!
Blessed be and thank you. Such good finds. We found a beautiful river of glass hidden in our small town during quarantine. Hidden treasures. Blessed be. Peace.
Sounds amazing!!
I was able to watch a well being drilled. At 120 ft in depth they brought up some agates and other rocks that were rounded by an ancient river.
So cool!
Good Morning Taylor, You could name your 2 faced agate a Janus agate. He was the two faced Roman God. Probably the god of duplicity or something like that. Such a gorgeous stone. I'm off to fix coffee, but I'll be back.😉
I really love its uniqueness!!
I could hang around with you for sure. I felt the joy of finding those.
Heck yes! I'm so glad you could share in it!!
that was a cool snake he was watching you
Hes like, "you missssssssed one"
Take me home, from country roads. Okay, I'm old. Beautiful rocks again!
Amazing song 🎵
Great finds! I find the best agates in my gravel driveway!
Lucky!
Hola Amigo!!! Lo que más me gusta de tus videos es como disfrutes de cada pieza encontrada. Mucha suerte y mil bendiciones!! ;
That was awesome! Definitely a bit jealous. 😃
Thanks! Good times 😌
What a haul, awesome! Your videos are so fun to watch. You are such a positive and genuine guy. Thanks for brightening our days!✌😎
Thank you 🙏❤️
We need more of these videos!! ❤
Gosh I wish we had gravel roads like that around where I live. Beautiful finds as always Taylor.
I just got done pulling the Lake Superior agates that I won from MN Rockhounder out of stage 2 in my tumbler...OMG dude... OMG! They are so unbelievably amazing already... You are going to love seeing the results. You have to get a tumbler Taylor! You won't be disappointed! I will be doing a reveal once they're all done...3-4 more weeks to go! Stay tuned
Cheers🐾
Ohhh I can't wait to see that! I am hoping to get some polishing equipment for winter...then its game on!
When i was about 10 years old back in the mid sixties I got a rock polisher for my birthday. Or should I say mu mom got a rock polisher for my birthday. She was quite the rockhound and there was a business in Minnesota about 30 miles away from us that sold rocks to polish and equipment n supplies. We eventually made and sold jewelry before Christmas to make a little extra money.
@@jpp9876 that is so awesome!🐾
I agree, so cool!!
Wow, lots of great rocks. Thanks for sharing. Be safe and healthy 😷⚒
Thanks and you too!!
Never thought to check gravel roads until you seen your channel. Thanks Taylor! Water bottle and a bag! I'm going for a drive!
Hate snakes and frogs!!! But love agates and chert!!
Yupp!!
Oh. I think that is a Leopard frog. Which is very cool! Not sure what kind of snake that was
It was and same, not sure about the snake. Its the biggest leopard frog I've ever seen!
Adorable snake! That carnelian piece almost looked like someone worked it a bit. Cool finds.
It does, we will never know lol
Road hunting is so much fun. I've found a lot of them that way by Proctor and Moose Lake.
Awesome!
Nice rocks! Hope you are surviving the storm... It was nasty here but no major damage that I can see. Be careful though it's nothing to fool with!
Yeah we didn't get hit at all, seemed to miss us completely
Nice finds Taylor, I love how you get excited with each one that you find. I hate snakes too, I jump every time I see them on t.v or live lol. I am glad the one you seen didn't move. Ewwwwww!!!!!
Happy to share the excitement! They've always creeped me out!
Great video
Thanks 😊
I need to come down there for a gravel road pick ! Wow!!!
Do it!
👍👍👍
😊
I honestly keep an eye out for flint/chert, it's one of the first things that jump out at me from a road - they aren't always translucent but I've found some pretty amazing agates that way, just picking up what looks like flint. They do great in the tumbler!!!
Fantastic tip!
I found an area of forest with gravel roads for miles with nice chunkers!1 It's about 100 miles north of the Cities in WI. I have been scrambling for a new trout video each week since the discovery😂 I have brought my kayak up there 4 times and never got it out of the truck because I get mesmerized by the rock on the ground when I get out of the truck LOL
So are you going to share with me this magical location???
Well you hit the jackpot with this hunt. Beautiful agates. Love your enthusiasm.
Thank you 😊
Beautiful!!!
Dang that was an awesome spot!
Right?!
I have been Agate hunting gravel roads up here in the U.P. of Mich this spring and summer.
I find a lot more on a few gravel roads I walk than I do Walking the beaches of Superior
Yeah its hard during summer because most beaches are overpicked
Wow 10:26 🤩🤤🤩
Thank you for this great video.
The slideshow is a real treat
12:15 click, lean back, enjoy, repeat
☝️
Haha oh thank you so much!
Wow you found some good ones that day
great video!!
Thanks 😊
Epic haul is right! Dang! I've never gone looking down a gravel road. Your awesome video has made me see the agate light! These agates you found today are nothing short of spectacular! Well done, sir 👍👍
Its such an easy spot to go to! Glad I could help!
I love all the Rocks you cut you're always say to put in the comments what is your favorite that you had cut open while that's a hard question? Agate dad because everything you cut open is so pretty I was walking out to my mailbox yesterday and we live on a dirt Trail Herring Grayling Michigan to my surprise I found some laying on the side of the road when I was walking out to my mailbox there was actually quite a few cuz our mailbox is about a half mile from our house my mind was blown how many agates I found thank you for all you do I have learned a whole lot I enjoy your videos thank you for sharing I even shared this with my grandkids because they love rocks as well
I love the music!
Thanks 🤘
Hi! My daughter in law just did this a couple weeks ago.. lucky girl found some agates!!
Thats awesome!!
Top video Agat Dad
Beautful video my friend.
Wow💜
Which was your favorite?
@@AgateDad All your videos are the most top.
your fan from Brazil. No speak english...tradutor
The gravel roads cannot be ignored! Two weeks ago in southern Mississippi, we were doing good on the gravel bars in the rivers, but the best agates we found for the 4-day trip were in the gravel roads. BIG pieces with amazing bands and patterns. If you can find a gravel road leading to a gravel pit - double score!
I love the color of the agates you found there - that red-orange color really makes the bands pop. And the coral you found is the same species we find down here in the south. Many of the ones down here have honey-colored agate inside the cells. I'm going to try to cut an polish a few in the next week or so. I'll let you know how it goes.
Great video! Keep 'em coming!
Seriously, and pits are hard to get into...so whats the next best thing..? Gravel roads. Im all excited because I have a bunch of potential spots to hit up now!
Those are sure some beautiful stones. My girlfriend and I have been road hunting for rocks, here in South Dakota, and have found some wonderful rocks. We are planning a trip to the North Shore area next year, to find some of the type of rocks you find. Keep posting the great videos, they are awesome !!!!!
Do you find fairburns??
@@AgateDad No, they are located on the other side of the state, but there are a few prairie agates here in eastern SD.
Okay, wasn't sure where you're from, thats great!
Looks like I would have better luck finding agates on the road than the shores! Gotta remember to save a day for road hunting on my next trip, I love the water but also love to find them too.♥️♥️♥️
I think you would right now, the shores are really picked :/
I have found about 70 pounds of Agate so for this year! the biggest one is 5 pounds! I think 10 that are over a pound! lol! Lots of nice fossils and others too! Its been a good year! Many blessings! Have fun hunting! (Minnesota)
Huge congrats!!! Wow! I wish i knew the actual number of pounds for the agates I found, ill have to hang on to all of mine next year and see how many pounds I collect all year!
@@AgateDad Thank You very much! I pick my stone's by St.Cloud area!
@@AgateDad if you're ever in the area I'd be glad to show you my collection from this year and a few others! I could set something up in my garage!
Depends on the area, that wouls be cool 😎
Im from minnesota and I've never done this! I will try
Let me know how it goes!!
Great finds in this one! All that banded beauty! Love the closeups at the end. Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome 😊 happy to share and thank you for the amazing comment!
Great video, Taylor! I love your enthusiasm. You’re like a kid at Christmas. 😊💕
Always lol cant complain when I'm having a blast!
6:46 you should see our big bull frogs in NE
Beautiful finds on a very successful hunt. Congratulations Taylor!
Thanks Paul!!
Loved this one. The wife and I are headed back up there in September to hit some more gravel roads. Hopefully we’ll have as much luck as you.
Hope you have some amazing luck!!
Ahh wassup
Yo!
Beautiful treasures! Nice video, I never thought of hitting up random gravel roads. Good thing we have lots of those to choose from in MN!
Seriously so many!!
this was fun to watch you find all those cool agates on the dusty road! more more more!! - we just have well..... gravel on our gravel roads in Oregon. just grey shale or basalt i'm guessing. no banded agates. I WISH!!!
I can't believe how many goodies there are, I went out with ky.little guy last night and we found so many beautiful agates! And my first real banded chert!
Wow, what a great hunting place. You found some amazing stones on that gravel road. Who k-new?
Yeah lots of great gravel roads to hit up 👌
Wow, you definitely need to go back there! You found lots of great stuff! Also, I know I have said it before, but I love how excited you get when you find a good rock. 🙂
I definitely will be hitting the gravel roads again, hopefully soon! Thanks 😊
I probably find 75% of all my finds on gravel roads all over eastern south Dakota, some in gravel pits With proper permissions of coarse, and a lot in farm field piles also with permission. Oh and also your spray bottle sounds like a Duck LOL and yes I'm sure that plant was very happy 😁
Haha that spray bottle sounds ridiculous! So you hunt Fairburn agates??
@@AgateDad I actually have never hunted fairburns yet, my neighbor has, he has a massive rock collection in total he has about 60 TONS of rocks HAHAHA, him and his wife hunt fairburns he told me they are getting super hard to find, there are people that go out for a whole week and come home empty handed besides bubble gum agates, prairie agates and tepee canyon agates, if you want some Rocks from south dakota I would be more than happy to put you together a little package for you and your son
That would be awesome, that's so sad about the Fairburn agates...its on my bucket list so hopefully I can find some eventually
Please please tumble them, they are beautiful. #sweetrocks 😂
Someday 👍
Awesome hunt buddy!! Love those finds.
Thanks :)
Great finds Agate Dad!!! The girlfriend found another amazing water-washed Fortification Agate on our last hunt. She still won’t let me go near the water. 😂
Hahaha tell her congrats!!
I quite enjoy your victory chortle. Lol. Good job. I’m now inspired to go check my gravel drive (mostly grey ~ I think I’ll go to a place that sells gravel, maybe they will let me buy anything interesting I find). If not I’ll order some to be delivered (not expecting any agates though)
Glad i could inspire some adventure for you :)
Crazy just getting out of your car and BAM.
Family update? 👶?
Baby is doing good and we're getting realllllllly excited 😁
Wowoweeeee! Awesome vid, great finds! As always, me jealous 😄☺️ hey, I just want to give you 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 I noticed your videos are upgraded! Great shots and content. Uuuhhhh, you you’re a pro now! Looking forward to more... Godbless you and your lovely family. Keep on rockin! 👏🏼💕
Oh thanks! I appreciate that!
always look forward to your videos! when are you gonna get a rock tumbler?!
Not sure exactly 👍 they take a while so even if i got one today, you wouldn't see a video for 2-3 months lol
@@AgateDad highly recommend it man it gives you something to look forward to when you're not rockhounding; you get to see your rocks evolve essentially. plus if you're anything like me I'm sure you have mounds of rough rocks just sitting there waiting to be polished!
So many lol
Awesome finds, can't wait to see more! *0*/
Can't wait to share more!
that one broken orange agate looks suspiciously like a native american blade of some kind
I agree!
@@AgateDad Maybe it's an unfinished arrowhead. Who can say for sure.
Not me lol thats for sure!
Agates. 👍🏻
Snake 👎
Video 🎉🍻✅
Thanks 😊
Where can I get a rock scooper like you have? I am disabled and this would be a godsend to my hunting!
Kingsleynorth.com - 42" treasure scoop
Hi, liked the video. Got any recommendations for moose lake?
I'd get a permit for the pits there, its free, bring a tiller and move some dirt around to get fresh material that isn't on the surface. 👍👍
That was fun! You didn't keep the coral?!
I did...i accidentally put it in the vinegar bath and...well it doesn't look like coral anymore hahah!
Lol
That’s a shame
@@AgateDad *smacks forehead*
Hahaha seriously!!
Enjoy your vids. Just got into lapidary as a hobby.
How do you process those small agates? The wife and I find many of these small ones and aren't sure if we should tumble these small nes.
I dont do a whole lot to the small ones, maybe tumble someday!
Dude what a haul of banded beauties! I want a gravel road like that!
It was pretty awesome 👌
How do you display your collection?
Right now, just in jars 👍
Will these be tumbled?
Someday I'm sure 👍
I don't think that was a snake it looked more like a broken off lizards tail
We don't have lizards that big around here lol I think it was a baby snake
Do you polish these into tumbles?
I will polish eventually 👍
Agate Dad oh cool can you make a video of it?
Yes of course
I thought the frog was going to be huge, when we go frog gigging we get frogs with legs bigger than your frog, great rocks, if you want really big rocks, find out where the county gets the fill gravel for the dirt roads. they sort the gravel with grizzly bars
Well for where I live its big lol if that makes sense.. I don't really care if I find big ones, its the adventure, being outside, enjoying it in a pure way. I dont do this stuff for "trophy" hunting.
The first one you kept so the 3rd Rock You rinsed off was or is pure chalcedony since you asked
Which is agate. So chalcedony equals agate
Yeah chalcedony and agate are the same except agates are only agates if they're banded..or have moss, or other agate characteristics.
What do you do with all of your rocks? I am getting to the point where I need to DO something with mine...
I organized mine into bins, it helped... a bit lol
Great video & finds! You using a new video camera?
For the b-roll im using my go pro and the same camera for the rest 👍 thanks!!
Best. Gravel. Road. Ever! ⛏️
Seriously!!
Where in Minnesota do you go agate hunting?
Around Duluth
Great finds! I wish I could find agates here. I do find lots of jasper, quartz and garnets though, which is great. That snake was so cute and adorable, and wow that frog was beautiful (only brown/greenish frogs around here).
Yeah there's a bunch of frogs out here but as far as leopard frogs go, that was the biggest ive ever seen!!
Love the two faced agate; just beautiful! I'll pass on the yucky little snake, but the frog was so pretty and green. I captured a screen shot of the yellow flowers; another Agate Dad original! It made a unique wallpaper on my phone; I've saved several from your rock finds too. I think what I love most about your videos is the positive reactions to your finds; like a kid in a candy store. It always makes me laugh! Thanks Taylor 🙂
I'm happy you enjoyed it! Its just so fun getting out finding these, im glad to share my enthusiasm for it!
13:09 that agate looks like an arrowhead.
It does 👍
