In this episode we take a look at a Hornby Princess Royal loco, this loco has damaged pick ups, valve gear and the owner wants some DCC Concepts magnets fitting. Lets take a look and see what we can do.

incredible, another different internal design. I have a 4-6-0 with one side pickups on the tender and a single pole draw bar connector. They should look at something like USA Athern models (and many others) that have a single brass plate that serves as both wheel bearings and the pickupcollector.

I had the same pickup issue on one if my 8F's. I didn't trust myself with the soldering iron so close to all that plastic, so I wrapped some tin foil around the lugs in order to try to achieve the same result, which seems to have worked OK. For now.....!
Glad you got the model working, Dan. It looked great hauling those crimson coaches on your garden layout.
