I've been waiting for this! As far as I can tell you're the first person to put the Google editions of these phones head to head instead of just comparing the OEM version to the Google edition of the same phone. Thank you!
But i just realised that what the google play editions of HTC one & GS4. but what i like more is the og stock Samsung GS4 & GS5 launcher & better than the Nova launcher ngl
The pure Android stock experience are so much better and smoother than the custom OS and UI. Both are good but i think if you want the best device with stock Android.. Buy a Nexus.

osamaFXX moto phones are awesome. because it's stock Android with a few moto apps. plus you get an FM radio. I don't use it that much but it's there and it's free

Google Play Editions phones are sold via the Google Play Store (like the Nexus devices currently are), but will have software updates delivered by the OEMs, rather than Google.

these two phones also came out about a half year later than the iPhone O.o so yes, they did copy a lot of things from the iPhone: Stainless Steel Band, aluminum backing, etc.
I really envy you peeled the plastic off from HTC One... I want to do that right now :) Great video over all but I have one question... I have heard some manufacturing issues with HTC. Can you help me with some research on this ? I think what I have read on internet is nothing but an attempt to degrade HTC... Your one line reply would be really appreciated.. 10 and a half years ago... I was 13 when these phones came out. Now I'm just an old chunk of coal....
Once the handsets are deprived of their OS skinning ... it becomes even more arbitrary which one to choose. Both are great phones and finally it all boils down to :
1.) Do I need/want an interchangeable battery ?.
2.) Do I prefer a high-res camera or a low-light camera ?
3.) Do I want an outstandingly svelte & comely body ?

At least with companies like HTC and Samsung and Sony try to make their devices a different experience to what most of are used to. Whether those experiences are good or not ("cough" samsung) is up to the consumer.

HTC One is actually cheap quality, if you head on over to AndroidAuthority's drop test for the HTC One, the speaker grill is plastic and popped right off during the drop revealing a bunch of glue behind it.

You can still download Samsung WatchOn on the Google play edition, just search it in the play store and all the GS4 apps will be there
no they usually send them back because they mostly get the devises from manufacturers
here's a really good idea when you review a new phone, use it to watch one of your videos then on your next video use the previous video over and over again if you know what i mean

Very seriously considering getting a google play phone.
The perfect phone would be the htc one with a snapdraggon 800 and the xperia z1's camera.
Samsung GS4 for me because of the flexibility of the phone. Expandable storage, the battery can be easily replaced, and ergonomics.
Isn't the great audio positioning for the htc one kinda useless cause you can just plug in earphones?

I like the original galaxy s4. I know the Google edition ones are nice but there are some nice features with the Samsung software.
